As spring arrives and summer approaches and the UK is hit with a spell of warm weather, Brits may be looking to spruce up their garden.
Now, the discount supermarket chain seeks to provide the perfect answer.
Aldi is now selling a Moroccan-style garden light, called the 'Solar Marrakesh Lantern'.

It comes with one white LED light per lantern and it boasts a generous size, with a height of 23cm and a width of 22cm.
The detailed ornament is also available in two colours to suit different tastes or colour schemes.
It's also obtainable in either a copper or gold colour to give homeowners a sense of North African opulence.
The supermarket has set the price tag for an affordable £9.99 and it could be perfect for setting an intimate night-time ambience.

Renting their island home is a third of the cost of a one-bedroom flat in London, which costs around £2,000 a month, and £2,300 a month cheaper than the cost of a similar size property in Woking, where the couple lived previously. Ruben, 40, tells The Sun he, his partner Lisa Perri, 36, and their son 'couldn't be happier or more content" with their new life. 'It was a snap decision, a life altering one, but I knew it was the right thing for myself and our family," he says. "We now get to raise our son in a sub-tropical paradise where the sun shines 300 days a year. 'Making the decision was easy. Packing up home took longer, but it was worth the effort. 'We have access to amazing quality seafood, fruits and vegetables, everyone is more relaxed and less stressed. The best thing is our son is having an island upbringing." Dubbed a "miniature continent" and home to almost 300,000 expats, Gran Canaria is the third-largest of the Spanish Canaries and considered one of the best islands in Spain to live by Brits lured by warm weather and cheap rents. Stunning Seaside Miami-style beach hotel in Maspalomas offers sun, sand dunes and 70s chic Maspalomas, where Ruben and Lisa now call home, offers a cost of living which is half as cheap (48.5 per cent) as London. In 2023, Gran Canaria welcomed approximately 947,449 British tourists, a record high for the island, with that number expected to top a million this year. Airline company staffer Lisa and Ruben, who runs an online e-commerce company, have been together since July 2010 after meeting through friends. The couple were living in Ruben's two-bedroom flat in Woking, Surrey, when they flew to Gran Canaria in March 2021, eager to escape lockdown and enjoy a sun-drenched holiday. Ruben recalls: 'Just flying out for a break was a huge relief. 'While we were there a new lockdown began and we couldn't leave the island. I wanted to be able to take our son to the park without seeing gangs of youths and be able to buy a meal out without having to get a loan Ruben Diegz 'There were no flights out, but thankfully both Lisa and I were able to work from home. We spent the next six months staying in an Airbnb on the island.' The pair admit it was "an absolute joy". 'Everyone was so relaxed. The weather was amazing. The air was clean and the huge sense of worry which hung over Britain was not present,' says Ruben. 'I knew if we were to build a future, Gran Canaria was the place to do it. 'I wanted to be able to take our son to the park without seeing gangs of youths and be able to buy a meal out without having to get a loan. 'We both realised we had to make a radical change to ditch Woking and Britain for the no stress life offered in Gran Canaria.' 'They all thought we were crazy. Many people couldn't understand what motivated us or how we even planned to do it," Ruben admits. 'They thought the idea was bonkers but it's the easiest decision we ever made." Ruben let out his Woking flat and used savings to fund the move. They began renting their Maspalomas apartment in January 2023. Back in Woking, renting a four-bedroom property would have set the family back approximately £3,000 a month. Lisa says: 'We can't believe how much space we have. Our son can play and have the best time. Our rooftop is larger than the size of a normal British terraced house garden. Ruben Diegz 'Homes in Gran Canaria are more spacious, open plan and designed for relaxed family living and entertaining. The emphasis is on the quality of time you spend with each other.' Ruben adds: 'Our rooftop is larger than the size of a normal British terraced house garden - you can BBQ on it and enjoy relaxed evenings in summer." The couple's apartment was furnished but they say most landlords will allow you to move out items you don't want. Once they'd settled, Lisa found a job in a health and beauty spa before beginning her current role at an airline company. 'For many people, moving their entire life to a new country is terrifying," says Ruben. 'As soon as we got back to Maspalomas I felt 10 years younger! The weight of the world lifted and the stress of living in Britain washed away. 'Life here instantly felt easier. We were welcomed by our neighbours and after two weeks I felt like I'd been living here all my life. 'The locals all say hello when you walk down the street. Everyone knows each other and there is a kindness you experience here that you don't get in London.' "Lisa also feels amazing. Our family is glowing." Monthly bills are also significantly less costly than in the UK. Electricity, which includes heating and air conditioning as well as water, is £60 a month. The couple pay £28 a month for their internet, with a phone landline and two mobile phones included in the package. 'Wi-Fi is super-fast here. It's one of the reasons Gran Canaria is so popular with digital nomads,' says Ruben. Our son attends the local international school and it costs £500 a month. That's half the price of nursery back in Britain Lisa Perri Ruben pays £28 for a premium gym membership each month. While cars are generally more expensive - the couple paid £4,000 for a second-hand Clio - they're cheaper to run. 'Petrol is £1.10 a litre," says Ruben. "A taxi will cost around £1.70 a kilometre - in London it is up to double the price." The family eat out at local restaurants at least three times a week, with a three-course meal for two costing less than £40. A local beer will set you back £1.15, while locally produced wine sells for £4.82 a bottle in the supermarket. Island-grown tomatoes, bananas, oranges, avocado, papaya, olives, cucumbers and aubergines are always available in local markets and supermarkets. The couple spend £90 a week on supermarket shopping. Milk is 87p a litre, fresh bakery bread is £1, a dozen eggs costs £2.38 while locally produced cheese is £8.55 a kilo. 'It's amazing to buy fruit and veg just from the fields', Lisa says. 'You realise just how expensive it is to buy food in Britain when you live here. You start questioning why food back home is so expensive." Ruben plays football for an expat team every Tuesday and Thursday, and the couple also play Padel. 'You get to connect with other expats on WhatsApp groups and everyone knows when the next game or match is and you are never short of a sport to play," Ruben says. 'Making friends is so much easier here.' Lisa says the high education standard is also a big draw for British expats. She explains: 'Our son attends the local international school and it costs £500 a month. That's half the price of nursery back in Britain. 'We chose a nursery which is part of the school he will attend for primary school." Lisa adds the meals provided at for the children at school are gourmet compared to British schools. 'The school invited parents to come for lunch. I'd eat the school lunches here every day if I could," she admits. 'Our son is already bi-lingual. Being able to go to the beach for a quick early evening swim with him or have his pals over is so much easier here. The locals are very family-focused." We are definitely happier, healthier, and better off financially. 'Living in Britain at home seems like a blur now - we're focused on sub-tropical living, sunshine and hope now." Canaries 'a haven for digital nomads' THE Canary Islands are a hotspot for digital nomads - someone who earns a living working online in a location of their choosing . Between 2021 and 2023 the number digital nomads flocking to Gran Canaria increased by almost a third or 29 per cent. In 2023, the Canary Islands welcomed approximately 80,000 digital nomads - up from 62,000 the previous year. The island group consistently makes the top ten lists for British digital nomads who demand fast internet, year-round warm weather, laptop-friendly cafes, co-working spaces and cheap living. Gran Canaria is the most popular of the seven Canary Islands and that's been helped by Spain being one of 62 countries now offering digital nomad visas to travellers. That number is set to rise this year - a 2025 report by Public First revealed more than 165,000 British citizens are now working abroad globally as digital nomads, with that figure growing daily. According to the couple, many people are choosing to move to Gran Canaria on digital nomad visas, but they advise caution. Ruben says: 'Dealing with bureaucracy here can be difficult. My advice is, make sure your paperwork is in order before you come and ensure you meet the requirements."

AFFORDABLE beauty products have a special place in my heart. While I love testing luxury launches, there's nothing more satisfying than finding a gem for less than a tenner. Advertisement This year, more budget products than ever before have impressed me by far out-performing their price tags. When But to my surprise, a few days later I realised I'd reached for it before every meeting that week to look more polished, and the colour had stayed put all day. It's not patchy or sticky, and the slimline nib means I can trace my lip line, then tilt the pen on its side to fill in the bulk of my lips. Advertisement So, when I heard Aldi were launching not one, but seven new beauty dupe products this week - all under £5 - I had to put them to the test. Here's how I got on. .. 10 Tara preferred the tinted Dulce de Leche shade of Lacura's Lip Balms LACURA LIP BALMS, £3.49 It only takes one look at these new balms to guess who Aldi used as inspo. Advertisement Drum roll please... it has to be Summer Fridays. The tasty flavours are right out of the viral brands playbook - although Aldi's are £19.50 cheaper - and sure to be a hit with those who love sweet treats. Having tried all three, the 90s brown Dulce De Leche variety is my favourite, because of the pout perfecting sheer tint it delivers. On application, all three of the shades melted across my lips quickly, so didn't take any blending out, and felt buttery soft, with a gloss that isn't sticky or greasy. Advertisement Aldi promise the formula is packed with Shea Butter and Murumuru Seed Butter to deeply hydrate and soothe lips - although I found they wore off quickly, and left my lips feeling tight and dry. 10 Lacura's bronzing stick is surprisingly long-wearing LACURA SCULPTING BRONZING STICK, £4.49 When I first opener the Sculpting Bronzing sticks, I was worried. There's very little variation between the two shades, and they're both very warm hued - bordering on orange. Advertisement On skin, they're very pigmented, and you have to work quickly to avoid them going patchy. After some trial and error, I found using my fingers - rather than a brush or sponge - worked best, as the warmth helped melt the product into my skin. I'm extremely pale, so they're both too dark for me, but if you aren't paper-white, you'll have better luck. The formula layers well over foundation, and once it's set, it doesn't budge, which will be great for hot summer weather. Advertisement I swatched both sticks on the back of my arm to work out which shade I should apply to my face, and despite removing both within a couple of minutes, they left a stain that withstood a bath and a shower! 10 Lacura's new watermelon brightening and bronzing serums were hit and miss LACURA WATERMELON BRIGHTENING AND BRONZING SERUMS, £4.99 EACH I'm a huge fan of Niacinamide is one of my favourite skincare ingredients - thanks to it's ability to reduce inflammation and redness, balance oil control and soothe skin - and both brand's hero it in their formulations. Advertisement In fact, the first five ingredients are exactly the same across the two, so on paper you'd expect them to be similar. Unfortunately, that's not the case. 10 Tara put Aldi's new beauty products to the test The bronzing serum is extremely glittery, and very orange, giving me flash-backs to the Geordie Shore style fake tan of my teens. Advertisement Thankfully, the untinted version was much better. It has a thick serum formula, that instantly cools the skin soothing any irritation. I used it for a few days, and my skin felt softer and more plump - although it does have a strong watermelon scent, so that's something to note if you struggle with fragranced products. 10 Tara couldn't find an occasion to use Lacura's shimmer face spray Advertisement LACURA SHIMMER HYDRATING FACIAL MIST, £4.49 When this landed on my desk, I immediately question when I'd ever have an occasion to wear it. If you haven't already worked it out - I'm really not a fan of glittery products on my face. My skin is oily enough as it is, and I don't think the vampire look is very in. Formulated with antioxidant ingredients including Vitamin E, Chamomile, and Green Tea, the formula definitely leaves skin brighter and feeling refreshed. Advertisement It took a few minutes to dry down, during which time the glitter transferred to everything I touched. I can't get past the school-disco levels of shimmer, but if that's your thing, you'll love the face mist! 10 If you buy one thing from Aldi's new beauty drop, make it the blusher LACURA BLUSH, £3.99 As far as I'm concerned, blush is the most underrated make-up product. Advertisement So many people worry about where to apply it, or going to far and looking like a clown - but get it right, and it's the quickest way to add life to your face and revive your complexion. There's two shades of blush; coral - which has a peachy orange hue and candy, that's more pink in colour. Again, they're both extremely glittery - I'd love to meet the Aldi boss who's obsessed with the stuff! Supposedly, they're dupes of the iconic Nars Orgasm blusher - and while the packaging certainly looks similar, the OG formulas are not nearly as shimmery. Advertisement Thankfully, after a few uses the glitter isn't quite so prominent - in future , I'd scrape the top layer of product off to get rid of it rather than apply it to my face. The blush has the perfect level of pigment, so you only need to dip your brush in once for enough pay off, but not too much that you risk over-doing it. You'd be hard pressed to find a better blusher for the price. 10 Lacura's illuminating base wasn't as pigmented as Tara expected Advertisement LACURA LUMINOUS FILTER FOUNDATION, £4.99 Last time this was on shelves, shoppers went wild - calling it a dead ringer for I'd not tried it before, so I had high hopes. The product description claims it 'creates a flawless base and blurs imperfections' which sounds right up my street. The consistency is thinner than I expected, so I have to wear foundation on top to get enough coverage - which means I then loose out on the glow. Advertisement As you can guess, it's also more sparkly than the £39 version, although I went in expecting as much so I wasn't too offended. Having experimented with it a few times now, it works best if you mix it with your foundation, or use your fingers to apply to the high points of your face rather than as an all-over primer. If you want a Flawless Filter dupe that's more like the real deal, I prefer 10 Tara wasn't a fan of Lacura's microblade effect brow pen Advertisement LACURA MICROBLADE EFFECT PEN, £3.49 Tiktok goes wild for micro-blade effect brow pens, but in all honesty, I've never quite understood the hype. This one has three distinct tips, which do help to create hair like strokes, but the ink formula quickly spread into the fine lines and texture of my skin - so the definition quickly disappeared. With this kind of formula, it's really hard to control the pigment load you apply to skin, so you can quickly end up with brows that're far too dark. If you want to try the trend, £3.49 isn't too much of a risk, but be warned it'll take a lot of patience to get right!
