Hamas reports deadly operations against 'Israeli' forces in Gaza

Hamas' military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, reported Monday several operations carried out by its fighters against the 'Israeli' military as battles in the Gaza Strip rage. A gathering of 'Israeli' forces was hit with mortar shells – including 120mm and 60mm rounds – on May 31 east of Al-Qarara town, near Khan Younis in south Gaza. Another military post was hit with three short-range 'Rajoum' rockets on the same day, according to the statement. On Sunday, Al-Qassam said it struck an 'Israeli' D9 military bulldozer with a 'Yassin-105' anti-armor rocket in the Qizan Al-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis. In another incident in the same area, the group said it targeted an 'Israeli' tank with a 'Shawaz' explosive device and a 'Yassin 105' anti-armor round. Yesterday, 'Israeli' defense minister said Sunday that he had ordered the army to push ahead with its fight on Gaza "regardless of any negotiations", after a US envoy called the group's latest response to a truce proposal unacceptable. "I have instructed the IDF (military) to continue forward in Gaza against all targets, regardless of any negotiations", Israel Katz said in a statement.

3 Israeli soldiers killed as Qassam Brigades strike forces and base in Gaza amid ongoing assault

ALBAWABA- Hebrew media have reported that three Israeli soldiers were killed and two others wounded after an anti-tank missile targeted a military vehicle in Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip. Also Read Gaza truce fails over unexpected Israeli Obstacles The evacuation operation failed due to intense gunfire in the area, according to Israeli sources. Three military helicopters were reportedly deployed to evacuate the casualties, but were unable to complete the mission amid heavy resistance, as Israeli helicopters returned fire heavily across the operational zone. Israeli media described the situation as a 'serious security incident' still unfolding in Jabalia. Meanwhile, the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in southern Gaza, targeting both Israeli forces and military infrastructure. In a statement issued Monday, the Brigades said: "After returning from the front lines, Qassam fighters confirmed targeting a gathering of enemy forces east of al-Qarara, near Khan Younis, with thirteen mortar shells (120mm and 60mm)." They also reported launching three short-range 'Rajoum' rockets at the 'Ain al-Thalitha (Third Eye) Israeli military site east of Khan Younis on May 31. These strikes, the group stated, are part of the ongoing response to Israel's U.S.-backed war on Gaza, now in its twentieth consecutive month. In a new development, the Israeli army has ordered residents of four blocks in Khan Younis to evacuate immediately toward the western areas of the city. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been accused of carrying out a campaign of mass killings, destruction, and forced displacement in Gaza. These actions, widely described by rights groups and some international bodies as genocidal, continue in defiance of global condemnation and multiple International Court of Justice rulings demanding a ceasefire. The toll so far includes over 178,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children, with more than 11,000 reported missing. Famine and mass displacement have also gripped the Strip, claiming more lives, including children, as the humanitarian crisis deepens.

OCHA: Israeli Occupation Squeezing Gaza Civilians into Just 18% of the Strip - Jordan News

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that, with the expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza, less than 18% of the Strip remains designated as areas where civilians are permitted to be present. The rest of the territory is either under direct Israeli control or designated as evacuation zones, subject to continuous bombardment. اضافة اعلان According to the UN News Centre on Monday, OCHA noted that displacement continues across the Gaza Strip, with around 200,000 people displaced in just the past two weeks alone. The United Nations described the catastrophic situation in Gaza as the worst since the beginning of the war, with ongoing airstrikes across the Strip, especially in the north, where the last partially functioning hospital was forced to evacuate. OCHA emphasized that the humanitarian operation in Gaza is among the most obstructed in the modern history of global humanitarian response. Since March, Israeli authorities have imposed a near-total blockade on humanitarian aid and goods, allowing only a trickle of supplies in the past two weeks — what the UN described as "a drop in the ocean" compared to the actual needs of the population. The UN and its partners have been unable to deliver most of these limited supplies to civilians due to Israeli restrictions and widespread insecurity. A significant portion of the aid that did enter was looted by desperate residents, many simply trying to feed their families. – (Petra)
