NYC bus driver suspended after rant about Jews and Jesus on way to school

New York Post26-05-2025

A school bus driver at a Brooklyn charter school pulled off the road and held the children 'captive' while he went on an antisemitic rant, in which made one Jewish kid cry with a lecture that claimed the Jews killed Jesus, sources said.
The driver allegedly pulled over as he headed to the Brooklyn Prospect International Elementary Charter School and launched the impromptu diatribe about his religious beliefs and Jesus to a group of students, a few whom are Jewish, one parent said.
'The only one who can deliver you isn't religion, it's Jesus,' the bus driver, who has since been suspended, allegedly said to confused youngsters, according to the parent.

When one student asked the unidentified driver if Jesus was a Jew, the driver allegedly offered a centuries-old canard about Jewish people's role in Jesus' crucifixion that is widely condemned as antiemetic.
'Yes, he was a Jew and basically Jews — his own kind — killed him,' the driver told students, the parent claimed.
'They basically killed him because he said he was the son of God … These were religious leaders who killed him.'
The assertion that Jews killed Jesus has long been shot down by the Catholic Church.
In the Vatican's 'Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions,' it stated the crucifixion of Jesus 'cannot be charged against all the Jews, without distinction, then alive, nor against the Jews of today,' the Anti-Defamation League noted.
Some students texted their parents about the remarks in real-time and one Jewish student even broke down in tears, the parent said.
At one point, the driver also allegedly asked students to recite a prayer while handing out white 'I Am With You Always' hats with a black cross inscribed between the words, the parent said.
'What pissed me off is the kids were late to school,' one parent told The Post. 'The driver definitely held the kids captive.'
Students arrived about 30 minutes later than they were supposed to.
3 The incident took place on the bus Friday, a parent said.

The school confirmed in a note to parents Friday that the driver 'stopped the bus for a period of time to make religious remarks and distribute religious merchandise to students,' though it did not confirm the specific of the off the rails sermon.
The school administration also said it contacted the driver's employer, Jofaz Transportation in Brooklyn, to 'file a formal complaint and request a new driver.'
The driver also allegedly told the students that Jesus sacrificed for their sins and 'If we believe in him, we will be saved' and 'The only one who can free you all is Jesus Christ,' the parent said.
He allegedly delved into the existence of heaven and hell while criticizing atheists for embracing the Big Bang theory.

'Well, who created the 'Big Bang,' the driver allegedly said, according to student accounts.
'They ain't going to be able to answer you. They're going to get stuck.'
While the bus driver was taking students to a charter school — which is privately run but publicly funded — transportation companies are hired by the New York City Department of Education.
DOE officials confirmed Jofaz Transportation has a contract with the city, but pending the outcome of an investigation by the bus company, the driver won't transport Big Apple students.
Jofaz Transportation could not be reached for comment.
Parents were outraged the driver as an authority figure took advantage of the students.
'The Jewish parents were most upset for sure,' the parent added.

Trump Goes All In Blaming Biden For ‘Illegal' Colorado Terror Suspect

Donald Trump joined his Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in blaming Joe Biden's immigration policies for allowing an alleged 'illegal alien' suspected of carrying out a terror attack in Colorado into the country. A man used a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to set people on fire on Sunday while they were holding a Jewish community event in support of the hostages in Gaza. At least eight people were injured. Police identified the suspect in the attack as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the 45-year-old Egyptian man arrested at the scene. Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday that the suspect 'came in through Biden's ridiculous Open Border Policy' and the attack was 'another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland.' The White House also released a statement. 'The suspect in the antisemitic Colorado terrorist attack, accused of setting elderly women on fire while yelling 'FREE PALESTINE,' is an illegal alien who exploited our immigration system to violently attack American citizens,' said White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson in a statement. 'President Trump will never stop fighting to keep Americans safe – his work to secure our border, end the abuse of our immigration system enabled by Joe Biden, and deport dangerous illegals is absolutely critical to our national security,' she continued. The suspect was in the country illegally, according to Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin. Soliman entered the U.S. in August 2022 on a tourist visa that expired in February 2023. The following month, in September 2022, he filed for asylum. Members of the Trump administration have been pointing to the arrest as they tout the president's effort to remove immigrants in the country illegally. Late Sunday, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller also tweeted that the attack was committed by an 'illegal alien.' 'He was granted a tourist visa by the Biden Administration and then he illegally overstayed that visa. In response, the Biden Administration gave him a work permit,' Miller posted on X. 'Suicidal migration must be fully reversed.' Soliman is accused of shouting 'Free Palestine' and attacking the demonstrators using a makeshift flamethrower and other incendiary devices as they gathered at an outdoor mall. Boulder police released a mugshot of the suspect with what appeared to be a bandage on the side of his head on Monday. He was booked into the county jail on Sunday night on multiple felony counts, including first-degree murder, but police said on Monday that no victims died. Four women and four men were injured in the attack, with ages ranging from 52 to 88. One of the victim's injuries are critical. The FBI is investigating the attack as a targeted act of terrorism.

Why Colorado Terror Suspect Says He Waited a Year to Carry Out Attack

Colorado terror suspect Mohamed Sabry Soliman allegedly plotted to attack a Jewish group as far back as last year, but paused his plan until his daughter graduated from high school. Soliman, 45, is accused of injuring eight people by attacking a Jewish community event on Sunday afternoon in Boulder, Colorado, burning his victims, aged 52 to 88, with a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails. Two victims had to be airlifted to hospitals. The father-of-five, who is an Egyptian national, was slapped with a federal hate crime charge on Monday morning. In an interview with the FBI, he allegedly admitted to the attack and said he would do it all again if he could. Soliman also told investigators that he 'wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead,' according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Daily Beast. He added that he targeted Sunday's 'Run For Their Lives' event, which called for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, because they are a 'Zionist group' that he found through an online search. 'Throughout the interview, Soliman stated that he hated the Zionist group and did this because he hated this group and needed to stop them from taking over 'our land,' which he explained to be Palestine,' the complaint said. His daughter's graduation is the only thing that kept him from acting sooner, the complaint alleged. There is no public information about Soliman's family. The right-wing influencer Laura Loomer claimed in a viral post on X that Soliman's daughter plans to attend college in Colorado in the fall. The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to questions from the Daily Beast about Soliman's wife and children, but wrote in an emailed statement that Soliman 'is illegally in our country.' The Soliman family lived in Colorado Springs, about 100 miles south of where Sunday's attack took place. His neighbors told the local news station KKTV that he worked as an Uber driver and was often out of town. KKTV also reported that the El Paso County Sheriff's Office received three non-criminal calls for service to Soliman's apartment since 2022, including two 911 hang-ups and another described only as 'juvenile contact.' Soliman was reportedly involved in four traffic stops in that same period. Soliman's complaint stated that he had left notes for his family on an iPhone that he had hidden in a drawer at their home. That device has been turned over to local cops by his wife. The White House has characterized Soliman as an illegal migrant who exploited the immigration system when he entered the U.S. in 2022, laying blame for his presence in the country—and his eventual 'antisemitic attack'—on the Biden administration. Soliman entered the U.S. on a tourist visa that expired in Feb. 2023. He filed for asylum in Sept. 2022, which granted him a temporary work permit that expired in March. DHS did not answer questions about the status of Soliman's asylum case. Soliman was booked into the county jail on Sunday night on multiple felony counts, including first-degree murder, despite no victims dying. Boulder police released a mugshot on Monday that showed his right ear was bandaged, his face was burned, and he had a bloodied nose. Part of his white shirt was also stained a yellowish color. Clips from the attack showed Soliman shirtless and saying, 'How many children killed,' possibly referring to civilian casualties in Gaza amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The complaint alleges he was also heard saying, 'end Zionist.' Soliman's 2015 silver Toyota Prius was found near the scene and impounded, according to his federal complaint. Allegedly inside the vehicle were papers with the words 'Israel,' 'Palestine,' and 'USAID' on them. Federal prosecutors tacked on a hate crime charge for Soliman after his interview with investigators. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison, with the potential for a life sentence.
