Three arrested in Wexford following alleged stabbing of teenager at children's playground
The incident, involving a number of teenagers, happened in a children's playground adjacent to the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford on Saturday, May 3. Thousands of people were in the town over the weekend for the 10th annual Rockin' Food and Fruit Festival when the alleged stabbing incident took place.
A video has been widely circulating of the incident across social media, which appears to show a teenager, believed to be a 14-year-old boy, being stabbed repeatedly with an implement.
Now, a spokesperson for Gardai in Enniscorthy has confirmed that they are currently investigating the incident that took place in the playground beside the Riverside Park Hotel and that the injured youth received medical attention for his non-life threatening injuries.
Three people were subsequently arrested in respect of this incident and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, dash cam or mobile phone footage in relation to this incident to further the investigation.

American woman, 40s, killed after hit by car in Antrim named as person arrested at scene & being quizzed by cops
AN American woman has died after a single-vehicle collision in Northern Ireland. Police said that pedestrian Allison Eichner, aged in her 40s and from Connecticut, died after the crash in the Causeway Road area of Bushmills on Wednesday. 1 A woman from the United States has died in a crash in Antrim Credit: PA:Press Association A person was arrested as part of the police response. Detective Inspector Cherith Adair said: 'Police received and responded to a report of a collision shortly before 12.30pm. 'Colleagues from the emergency services also attended the scene. 'A female pedestrian aged in her 40s was taken to hospital by colleagues from the emergency services, however she sadly died from her injuries. READ MORE IN NEWS 'One person was arrested at the scene, and remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries. 'Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision, and would ask anyone who might have information which could assist to get in touch. An elderly cyclist died in Co Kerry yesterday after being struck by a vehicle on the R569 road, Church Grounds in Kilgarvan just after 1:40 pm. Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised. The cyclist, a male in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner was informed and a post-mortem examination was carried out.
