Glasgow man Lewis Jack sadly found dead in Australia
Lewis Jack, 22, was reported missing on Saturday, May 17, after disappearing in the Surfers Paradise area.
His body was discovered on Tuesday, May 20, near the Isle of Capri at approximately 7.40pm local time.

Despite the tragic circumstances, local authorities have confirmed they are not treating his death as suspicious.
His heartbroken grandmother shared the devastating news on social media, writing: "It is with a broken heart that I have to say my beautiful grandson has sadly been found.
"Thank you for all the lovely words and the shares."
Tributes have since poured in for Lewis, who is remembered by friends and family as a kind, joyful, and deeply loved young man.
One friend wrote: "I can't believe that I am actually posting this. Lewis can't believe you're gone.
"Worst news ever, you'll never be forgotten. No pain like it, fly high. Forever 22, my boy"

"You truly do not know what is around the corner. Rest easy, my friend, until we meet again."
A third added: "My heart breaks for all Lewis's family. I wish we could wrap you all in our arms, more so, I wish we could have gotten Lewis safely back to you."
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help support Lewis's family in bringing him home to Scotland.

The organiser, Toni-Lee Donnelly, wrote: "On Saturday, May 17 2025, our beloved Lewis Jack went missing at 8pm in the Surfers Paradise area of Australia.
"His entire family, anxiously waiting in Scotland, hoped and prayed for good news.
"Tragically, on Tuesday, May 20 2025, we received the devastating confirmation that Lewis is no longer with us.
"Lewis was one of the kindest souls – his smile could light up any room, and his warmth and humour touched everyone he met. He is deeply loved and will be missed beyond words by all who knew him.
"This GoFundMe has been set up to help bring Lewis home to Scotland and support his family with the funeral costs.
"Every donation, no matter the size, means the world to us and will go directly toward repatriation and funeral arrangements.
"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support during this incredibly difficult time ❤️
The fundraiser has received over 200 donations and has raised more than £7,000 so far.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Australia and are in contact with the local authorities."

His mum had moved to Switzerland, and when he went to visit her in December 2014, he was invited by Von Vertes to his family's empty villa after a night out, reports the Daily Record. There, Alex suffered more than 50 injuries in the brutal and prolonged attack, and was pronounced dead the following morning. During his trial, Von Vertes claimed Alex was the aggressor - but he did not show any defensive injuries, suffering only one cut to his finger. He was found guilty of intentional homicide but the case was sent back to court in 2019 for appeal, where Von Vertes claimed he was so high on drugs he believed Alex was a green alien. The killer was temporarily transferred to an enclosed rehab facility, but after another appeal by Katja, he was again found guilty of intentional homicide. The Supreme Court denied Von Vertes's final appeal in 2023. He was also found guilty of raping a woman in a London hotel. But last year, Von Vertes was released on full parole - and Katja, who now lives on a farm in Spain and helps other families suffering grief, was recently sent images of Von Vertes on dating apps from two women. She was also contacted by a third woman. One image shows Von Vertes with an AirPod in his ear and the other is of him standing in front of a set of mailboxes. It came after one woman said unwittingly went on a date with Von Vertes while he was on day release from prison, describing him as "verbally abusive" and claiming he had boasted about serving time in prison for killing someone. She said he had used the pseudonym Benjamin Schwarz when she met him on the app.

Brit couple found with £1m of cannabis in luggage in latest 'drug mule' fears

Sian Warren, 34, and Daniel McDonald, 36, were on their way back from Thailand when officers from the National Crime Agency reportedly found more than 51kg of cannabis in their luggage. It is understood that the drug was in four cases that the pair were carrying. They appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court where they have been charged with importing Class B drugs and have been bailed under curfew ahead of a plea hearing on June 26 at Isleworth Crown Court. Warren and McDonald, from Salford, went to Bangkok on holiday last month and Warren's dad Tony told The Sun that there must have been a mistake. He said: 'Sian's not brought anything back, definitely not. She had her own suitcase with clothes in it.' It is the latest of several incidents involving British holidaymakers who have been accused of smuggling drugs from Thailand as an expert warned that criminal gangs are 'grooming' naive tourists. In the last few weeks, three British women have hit the headlines after they were accused of attempting to smuggle drugs. Bella May Cullen, 18, was arrested after flying into Georgia from Thailand with around 14kg of cannabis and 2kg of hashish in her luggage. A day later former TUI stewardess Charlotte May Lee was allegedly caught with 46kg of Kush – a high-grade strain of cannabis – in her luggage valued at £1.2million after arriving in Sri Lanka, again from Thailand. And then it emerged another Brit, Isabella Daggett, 21, from Leeds, has been held in a hellhole Dubai prison since March, when she was arrested on suspected drugs offences. Nathan Paul Southern, the Operations Director at The EyeWitness Project, which specialises in the investigation of organised crime, conflict and corruption, says southeast Asia has now become the world 's leading supplier of both narcotics like heroin and synthetic drugs like ecstasy and crystal meth. The 'Golden Triangle' - a large mountainous region on the borders with Myanmar, Thailand and Laos, recently overtook Afghanistan as the world's largest producer of opium, used to make heroin. And he says gangs are 'flocking' to the region from around the world, where they appear to be using grooming techniques used in other types of crimes to ensnare impressionable young Westerners. Mr Southern told the Mirror: 'The idea of charming strangers grooming backpackers isn't new, it's just the same old tactics in a region with a booming drug trade. The same grooming techniques we've seen in romance scams and human trafficking could be getting adapted for drug smuggling.
