Kate Lawler slammed for shouting at ambulance for interrupting This Morning competition
Kate Lawler has come under fire from This Morning viewers after failing to keep a calm head when the unexpected happened during a live segment.
The former Big Brother winner, 44, was reporting from an open-top bus in Westminster and in the process of explaining how fans could win a quarter of a million pounds when she was suddenly interupted by an ambulance siren.
Rather than overlooking the disruptive sound, she responded in a raised voice: 'Do you mind I'm trying to do the competition.'
Hearing more ambulances driving past, she added: 'They're all coming out now.'
Those watching at home were clearly unimpressed as they took to social media platofrm X to comment on her 'inconsiderate' behaviour and accused her of 'celeb entitlement'.
'How inconsiderate Kate was in that competition on #ThisMorning with an ambulance blaring the sirens and all she did was shout 'do you mind I'm trying to do a competition', yes I know they wouldn't be able to hear her because they were probably on their way saving a life,' said one person.
"Any siren indicates an emergency for someone whether Police, Fire or Ambulance how totally tackless and self-obsessed is Kate. God forbid it was one of her family that was having an emergency ..stupid woman,' penned another.
"Complaining about an ambulance probably going to save someone's life, seriously!" remarked a third.
While a fourth declared: "The nerve that someone needs an ambulance when Kate Lawler is talking. Celeb entitlement."
'Not a good look shouting at ambulance crews because they're 'disturbing your competition information' #thismorning,' echoed a fifth.
Following the segment, her co-star Ben Shephard said that Lawler was 'very brave' going on the tour bus through London 'with the traffic' making it hard for her to travel easily.
The ITV show's hosts have previously found themselves criticised by their audience.
During Monday's episode, host Cat Deely caused controversy after she insulted viewers during the 'Spin to Win' game segment. If participants wanted to partake, they had to answer with the correct "passphrase".
When several contestants failed at this, frustration was evident among the presenters.
Shephard was clearly frustrated, saying: "Clive, Carol and now Candice! You are use-leese!" Deely however went one further, labelling the unsuccessful callers "a trio of schmucks".

‘Echo Valley' Review: Mother Knows Best, Daughter Does Worst
Julianne Moore has the perfect face for pain: pale-skinned, fragile and with eyes that turn easily liquid. That's fortunate, because Kate Garretson, Moore's character in the gloomily uninvolving thriller 'Echo Valley,' is dealing with so much misery she can barely get out of bed. Her wife has recently died, her horse farm is losing money, and her testy ex-husband (a single-scene cameo from Kyle MacLachlan) is tired of bailing her out. That's more than enough distress for any one character, but 'Echo Valley' is just getting started. Enter Kate's daughter, Claire (Sydney Sweeney), a scheming addict with an abusive boyfriend and multiple failed attempts at rehab. Claire is demanding money to solve a problem with her skeevy dealer (played, with calculating charisma, by Domhnall Gleeson), and Kate, a chronic enabler, seems eager to auction a kidney to help. Whenever these two are together, you want to shake one and throttle the other. After a terrified Claire shows up one night, bloodstained and with a body stashed in her back seat, what began as a promising study of grief and emotional isolation sinks swiftly into a seamy crime caper. Touching scenes of Kate replaying her wife's saved phone messages alternate with shrieking bouts of mother-daughter dysfunction, and warm moments between Kate and her best friend (the always stellar Fiona Shaw) give way to increasingly preposterous plot developments. Battling downpours and an abundance of nighttime shadows, the cinematographer Benjamin Kracun adds a classy, coppery richness where he can. But 'Echo Valley,' directed by Michael Pearce (whose 2018 feature debut, 'Beast,' mingled equally dissonant themes with far greater dexterity), is ultimately undone by Brad Ingelsby's distracted script. The most relatable being onscreen is the family dog, whose baffled expression at one point I am certain mirrored my own. Echo ValleyRated R for a needle in the neck and a corpse in the car. Laurence Fox could face trial in 2027 over upskirting photo of TV star
Laurence Fox could face trial in 2027 over allegations he shared a compromising photo of TV star Narinder Kaur on social media. The actor-turned-activist is alleged to have shared a compromising image in a tweet posted in April 2024 of Kaur, 52, who appears regularly on Good Morning Britain and has previously appeared on GB News. Ms Kaur, who has waived her right to anonymity, sat in the public gallery at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday as Fox, of Peldon in Essex, appeared charged with two counts under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The 47-year-old defendant is accused of sharing a photograph of a person's genitals 'intending that the person or another person would see the genitals, and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation' in the first count. The second count alleges he shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, 'another person in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation'. The court hearing on Thursday was listed for plea and trial preparation but Fox, who was wearing a white shirt and grey blazer with jeans, was not asked to enter any pleas. A provisional trial with a time estimate of four days was set for December 6 2027 at the same court, with Fox granted bail to appear for a further case management hearing on November 14 this year. Sarah Forshaw KC, defending, asked the court if it would be possible to look at whether other venues may be able to accommodate an earlier trial as 'December 2027 is a long way ahead'. The police previously said Fox had been 'charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003' which 'relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024'. Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act relates to 'cyber flashing'. The charge, introduced in 2023, makes it an offence to intentionally share a sexual image of someone without consent, with the aim of causing alarm, distress, humiliation or for sexual gratification. Upskirting, taking pictures of people under their clothes without their permission, became a specific criminal offence in 2019. Offenders can face up to two years in jail and be placed on the sex offenders' register. Fox was fired from GB News in October 2023 after an on-air rant about journalist Ava Evans. He previously starred as James Hathaway in ITV's drama series Lewis.

David Walliams ‘gave Nazi salutes on BBC show'
David Walliams reportedly gave two Nazi salutes during the filming of a BBC show. During recording of the Would I Lie To You? Christmas special earlier this week, the comedian allegedly made the gestures while his teammate Helen George, told a story. The Call the Midwife star was trying to convince the other team she had sprained her wrist 'from waving too much' during the Strictly Come Dancing tour. While demonstrating the wave that had caused her injury, she was encouraged to make a grander gesture, at which point Walliams, 53, is reported to have joined in until he made a Nazi salute. The best-selling children's author was reportedly scolded by Rob Brydon, the show's host. However, as the show went on, Walliams is said to have made the gesture again. One audience member said the salutes had landed 'awkwardly' in the room, telling The Times: 'It was all very weird. 'There were gasps from the audience and the other panellists all looked very uncomfortable.' It is believed that there is no chance the footage will be broadcast. Walliams has not been on television since he left ITV's Britain's Got Talent in 2022 after he was found to have made insulting comments about contestants. He was one of the UK's best-known television personalities before it was revealed he had made a derogatory remark about a performer who made a jibe at him. Walliams also made a sexually explicit remark about a different woman who was auditioning for the ITV show in January 2020 at the London Palladium. At the time, he apologised but insisted they had been 'private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared'. A spokesman for Banijay UK, which owns the show's production company, said: 'Any attempt at humour regarding this deeply offensive gesture, whether broadcast or not, is completely unacceptable in any context. 'It was immediately acknowledged during the recording that this segment would not be broadcast under any circumstances and we apologise to those who were at the recording for any offence caused.' A BBC spokesman said: 'The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologise to all at the recording for the offence caused.' David Walliams' representatives were approached for comment. Broaden your horizons with award-winning British journalism.
