Maro Itoje has been named captain of the men's British and Irish Lions for their tour of Australia.The Lions are a team made up of rugby union stars from England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland.They're put together every four years to face one of the world's best rugby teams - rotating between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.Itoje, also captain of the England team and Saracens, said being chosen to lead the team was a "tremendous honour, a tremendous privilege".
British and Irish Lions coach Andy Farrell has selected a 38-man squad for the summer tour of Australia.The first of three matches against Australia is on 19 July.Ireland are the best represented country with 15 players making the squad, England will supply 13, with eight from Scotland and two from Wales.For captain Maro Itoje and his England and Saracens' team-mate Elliot Daly, this is a third Lions tour, as it is for Ireland's Tadhg Furlong.There are also 15 clubs represented in the Lions squad, including eight of the 10 Premiership teams, three of the four Irish provinces and both Scottish professional sides.
