Shea Couleé; Sasha Colby; Onya Nurve on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' over the years.
RuPaul's Drag Race has proven over the years that winning is pretty great, but it isn't everything! Some of the most successful queens in the entire franchise haven't been crowned America's Next Drag Superstar, nor did they enter the Drag Race Hall of Fame. The series has even officially embraced "losing is the new winning!" as an official motto.
Nonetheless, it's often exciting to watch a contestant who has several different skills and who succeeds in a wide range of challenges. On this list, we celebrate the queens who made herstory by winning four maxi challenges in a single season of the flagship U.S. season. The list also includes two "honorable mentions" for going above and beyond and winning an astonishing total of five maxi challenges.
Scroll through to discover the select group of queens who won at least four maxi challenges in a single season of — and tune in for new episodes from season 17 every Friday on MTV.

Nirvana's ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit' Video Hits Two Billion YouTube Views
'Here we are now, entertain us.' You asked for it and Nirvana provided. The iconic grunge trio's beloved video for breakthrough 1991 hit 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' has just crossed the two billion views mark on YouTube. The Samuel Bayer-directed clip in which late singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and company rock a high school gym into a frenzy debuted on MTV in the fall of 1991, quickly catapulting the group to global superstardom. While the majority of the YouTube music videos with two billion or more views are from pop, Latin, country and hip-hop artists including Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Enrique Iglesias, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Shakira and Alan Walker, there are a handful of other rock videos that have reached that storied height. More from Billboard Billboard's Greatest Pop Star of 1992: Nirvana Woman Arrested for Attempted Break-In at BTS Jung Kook's Residence on the Day of His Military Discharge Carín León Is Ready to Prove He's The 'Missing Link' Between Regional Mexican and Country Music Among the other rock acts to hit two billie are: Twenty One Pilots ('Stressed Out,' 'Heathens'), Imagine Dragons ('Believer,' 'Thunder'), Guns N' Roses ('November Rain') and Linkin Park ('Numb'). 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was first uploaded to YouTube at 2009 and hit the one billion mark in 2019. Two months after its release, the song that defined a generation topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart on Nov. 23, 1991 and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The unlikely long-for-pop-radio five minute hit featuring such obtuse lyrics as 'A mulatto, an albino a mosquito, my libido' and a visual in which band members Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic thrash about as anarchist cheerleaders whip teens into a frenzy in a smoke-shrouded gymnasium was the unlikeliest hits at a time when Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men ruled the charts. But the song helped the band's second studio album, Nevermind, climb the charts and end then chart king Michael Jackson's run at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart on Jan. 11, 1992 when it pushed his Dangerous album from the to of the heap. Scott Wolf Files For Divorce After 21 Years Of Marriage
Party of Five alum Scott Wolf and former reality star Kelley Wolf are divorcing after 21 years of marriage, the couple announced separately on Tuesday. 'It is with a heavy heart that Scott and I are moving forward with the dissolution of our marriage,' she wrote on Instagram. 'This has been a long, quiet journey for me—rooted in hope, patience, and care for our children. While I will not speak publicly about the details, I feel peace knowing that I've done everything I can to walk this path with integrity and compassion.' Kelley Wolf, who was in the cast of MTV's The Real World: New Orleans and later authored a self-help book, has three children with the Doc actor. She praised Wolf as a father and partner. 'I am stepping into a chapter of peace, freedom, and protection—with grace,' she added. Her announcement came about a year after she shared a story of how she once wanted to leave Wolf because he always found fault with her. He pledged to improve and followed through, she said. 'Like all amazing love stories, we continue to choose the power of love, over and over,' she wrote at the time. Scott Wolf delivered a brief statement to People on their split: 'After 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife Kelley,' he said. 'Our children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.' He may have hinted at issues in a January interview with Us Weekly. 'The last few years have presented life in a way that we hadn't experienced before,' Scott said. 'These are not life and death issues, but reframing issues, things that have, kind of, challenges, and watching our family go through things that have presented challenges … to find our way through in ways that have changed the way I see happiness. ... This period of time has been weird for a lot of people. And we sort of got blown in the wind a little bit, moved around a bunch.'

Stars are mourning the death of Brian Wilson after it was announced on Wednesday that he died. He was 82. The family of Wilson, who was a founding member of The Beach Boys, confirmed his death on Instagram, writing: 'We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.' More from The Hollywood Reporter The Beach Boys Remember Brian Wilson: "He Was the Soul of Our Sound" Ananda Lewis, Former MTV VJ and TV Show Host, Dies at 52 R. Kelly Seeks Release From Prison, Claiming Officers Tried to Have Him Killed by Fellow Inmate Soon after the news broke, celebrities took to social media to share their condolences. Elton John took to Instagram Wednesday, calling Wilson 'the biggest influence on my songwriting ever.' 'Brian Wilson was always so kind to me from the day I met him,' John said. 'He sang 'Someone Saved My Life Tonight' at a tribute concert in 2003, and it was an extraordinary moment for me. I played on his solo records, he sang on my album, The Union, and even performed for my AIDS Foundation.' I grew to love him as a person,' John continued. 'He was a musical genius and revolutionary. He changed the goalposts when it came to writing songs and shaped music forever. A true giant.' Bob Dylan posted his condolences on X as well. 'Heard the sad news about Brian today and thought about all the years I've been listening to him and admiring his genius,' Dylan wrote. 'Rest in peace dear Brian.' John Stamos, who has performed with The Beach Boys, including their appearances on his hit sitcom Full House, shared a tribute on Instagram, which reads in part: 'Brian Wilson didn't just soundtrack my life…he filled it with color, with wonder, with some of the most unforgettable, emotional, joyful moments I've ever known. It's hard to put into words what it meant to stand beside him, laugh with him, play his music with him. Brian wasn't just a musical genius, he was a gentle, soulful, funny, complex, beautiful man. He heard things no one else could hear. He felt things deeper than most of us ever will. And somehow, he turned all of that into music that wrapped itself around the world and made us all feel less alone. I grew up worshipping the Beach Boys, never imagining one day I'd get to play with them, let alone call Brian a friend.' John Cusack, who played Wilson in the biopic Love & Mercy, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, 'The maestro has passed — Brian was a raw open heart with two legs — and an ear that heard the angels — quite literally. He was touched. To see him so happy with his wife Melinda — finally talking about and performing his unfinished masterpiece Smile, (after the release of the astounding Smile sessions) — to hear him be so open about the depth of his struggles so that the telling of his story might help others and take away the stigma of mental health — was to see a triumph of endurance and spirit, love and Mercy.' Love & Mercy director Bill Pohlad also said in a statement to THR, 'Brian was a true genius and I was honored to have gotten to know him a bit in the making of LOVE & MERCY. What an extraordinary artist! I will miss his presence on this earth. So many of his songs come to mind when I think of him. GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT I'D BE WITH OUT (him).' Nancy Sinatra shared on Instagram: 'His cherished music will live forever as he travels through the Universe and beyond. God bless you, sweet Brian. One of the biggest thrills of my life was singing 'California Girls' with Brian.' The Beach Boys themselves shared a tribute on Instagram, writing in part, 'Brian Wilson wasn't just the heart of The Beach Boys — he was the soul of our sound. The melodies he dreamed up and the emotions he poured into every note changed the course of music forever. His unparalleled talent and unique spirit created the soundtrack of so many lives around the globe, including our own. Together, we gave the world the American dream of optimism, joy, and a sense of freedom — music that made people feel good, made them believe in summer and endless possibilities.' Actor Wendell Pierce wrote on X: 'Brian Wilson RIP 82 years old Troubled life Gotta put on Love & Mercy …I was lying in my room And the news came on TV A lotta people out there hurtin' And it really scares me Love and mercy, that's what you need tonight Love and mercy to you and your friends tonight…' Ronnie Wood, a member of the Rolling Stones, also wrote on X: 'Oh no Brian Wilson and Sly Stone in one week ~ my world is in mourning. So sad.' Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, said in a statement: 'Brian Wilson was one of the most talented singer-songwriters in the history of recorded music. Not only did his songs capture the spirit of youth, joy and longing in ways that still inspire millions of fans around the world, his innovative work in the studio transformed the way musicians record even to this day. Brian made an indelible mark, and our thoughts are with his family in this time of loss.' See the tributes below.
