Thunder move one win from first NBA title in 46 years after holding off Pacers
The Oklahoma City Thunder moved within one win of their first NBA championship in 46 years on Monday night, beating the Indiana Pacers 120–109 in Game 5 of the NBA finals to take a 3-2 series lead.
Jalen Williams scored a career playoff-high 40 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 points and 10 assists as the Thunder's top two scorers carried the team to the brink of the franchise's first title since 1979. Oklahoma City pulled away in the fourth quarter after Indiana had cut an 18-point deficit to just two.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 28 points. TJ McConnell added 18 off the bench, including 13 during a third-quarter run that helped Indiana close the gap despite limited production from Tyrese Haliburton, who was slowed by a leg injury.
A pair of Siakam free throws made it 93–89 early in the fourth quarter and a three-pointer moments later trimmed Oklahoma City's lead to 95–93. But the Thunder roared back with an 11–2 run and never allowed the Pacers to get closer.
Game 6 is Thursday night in Indianapolis. Oklahoma City are 7–3 on the road this postseason. Indiana are 9–1 at home.
Teams that win Game 5 of a finals tied 2–2 have gone on to win the series 74% of the time. A Thunder win in Game 6 would clinch the franchise's first title since the team was known as the Seattle Supersonics.

Peterborough chief makes Rangers fans claim over target
Poku, whose contract is set to expire, has caught the attention of around 30 clubs. The 23-year-old impressed in League One last season with 23 goal contributions. Peterborough's director of football, Fry, told the Daily Record: "Kwame's top drawer. "The Rangers fans would absolutely love him if he went up to Scotland. "He's a very, very skilful player. "A very exciting player. Under cross-border rules, Poku could move to Scotland for a cut-price £300,000, while English clubs would have to pay significantly more. However, Fry believes Rangers supporters would be thrilled to have him. He added: "I think wherever he goes, he'll be a fan's favourite because he's such an exciting player. "But he scores goals too and creates them." Despite being injured and missing almost half of the season, Poku still made it into last season's League One Team of the Year. Fry revealed he received numerous offers for Poku in January from top Championship clubs, but an injury prevented a move. He said: "In truth, I could have sold him on January 1. "There was a dozen top clubs in the Championship, wanted him then to push forward, but he was injured." Despite the injury setback, Fry is confident of Poku's potential to play in the Premier League in the future. He said: "He's a lovely lad and I've really enjoyed him being at the club. "He's a lovely boy, and he's got tremendous potential to go to the top. "Wherever he goes next, he's got to play." Fry believes Poku's next move should be focused on finding a club where he can be a regular starter and continue his development.

'Same old, same old but Delap looks a good buy' - fans on CWC opener
We asked for your views on Chelsea's opening Club World Cup match against Los Angeles FC in are some of your comments:Thabiso: Same old problems - ponderous build-up, flimsy press and panicky defence. On the plus side, Liam Delap looks like the menace up front we have been crying out A bit lethargic but this was only a group game. Noni Madueke was poor, but Nicolas Jackson and Delap looked good, and Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto linked up well together. We need to improve as the tournament progresses but let's not forget this is also part of our pre-season, so rotation and resting will be part of the overall Same old, same old. Palmer carrying the rest of the average bunch. Delap looked good for the minutes he got, but still no spark of excitement for the fans. We need to up our game Chelsea were pretty good after they settled down. While every Chelsea fan wants them to win every game and fixture, Neto is showing how good he is and Palmer seems to be coming out of his shell. Things can only get better (we hope).Ron: We are still too slow and deliberate in our build-up from defence to attack. Still don't agree with our style of play but Delap looks like a good buy. He makes good runs off the ball, which help to open up well set up defences. Looking forward to seeing some more of the new youngsters, but feel we need another strong central defender and Loved the energy Delap brought to the game when he came on. Great movement and touch to put Enzo Fernandez in for his goal. Very excited about this signing!Gary: I thought we were very flat against a poor side. We still need a world-class forward and a goalkeeper just to get us closer to the top three, but will we address those positions?Nick: We were only troubled occasionally, when playing sloppily and losing concentration. Neto was the clear man of the match but Flamengo will be a tougher game for us on Friday.
