
Fukushima man accused of choking infant son who ‘wouldn't stop crying'
FULKUSHIMA (TR) – Fukushima Prefectural Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for choking his two-month-old son earlier this month. The boy's life is not in danger, reports NHK (June 13).
At around 9:30 p.m. on June 8, Yasuyuki Suzuki, a company employee, allegedly used his hands to grab the neck of the boy at their residence in Soma City.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Suzuki admitted to the allegations. 'My child wouldn't stop crying, so I strangled him,' he said. Yasuyuki Suzuki (X)
On the night of June 9, a doctor who examined the boy contacted police. Police arrested Suzuki on the night of June 12.
The son is currently hospitalized, but his life is not in danger.

Chiba police arrested Myanmarese man over alleged fatal stabbing of acquaintance
CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police arrested a Myanmarese man over the alleged fatal stabbing of a male acquaintance in his 20s on a street in Noda City early Sunday, reports NHK (June 15). At around 4:20 a.m., Tun Tun Win, a 24-year-old technical intern trainee, allegedly stabbing his acquaintance in the chest with a kitchen knife on a street in Ozaki. The victim was taken to a hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, but was confirmed dead shortly thereafter, police said. Police arrested Tun Tun Win at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. During questioning, the suspect admitted to stabbing the man, but denied any intention to kill him. Prior to the incident, the suspect and the victim are believed to have gotten into trouble while drinking at the suspect's residence. When the dispute escalated, they went out onto the street and got into a fistfight. Police have since changed the charge to murder and are continuing their investigation.

Man driving without valid license arrested after woman with him killed in accident
Police in Kashiwara City, Osaka Prefecture, have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in death, and driving without a valid license. According to police, Takumi Takekabu, a company employee, was driving along National Route 25 in Kashiwara at around 7:45 a.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line and crashed into a traffic light pole on the right side of the road, Sankei Shimbun reported. A woman in the front passenger seat, Nagisa Furukawa, 26, from Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, was killed in the collision. Furukawa was wearing a seat belt, but police believe she was asleep with the seat reclined at the time of the accident. Police said Takekabu has admitted to the allegation. The car was registered to Takekabu, but his license had expired. No alcohol was detected on his breath. During police questioning, Takekabu initially stated that he did not realize his license had expired, but later admitted that he did know. Police are questioning him about the exact cause of the accident, and whether he was speeding or dozed off. © Japan Today
