Vikings to sign veteran offensive tackle Justin Skule
The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a deal with veteran offensive tackle Justin Skule, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.
Skule, a sixth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2019 draft, started five games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season and has 66 career appearances (17 starts) over a five-year NFL career.
Skule played snaps at both left tackle and right tackle last season. Per Pro Football Focus, Skule has played 833 career snaps at left tackle and 234 at right tackle, and he also has experience at right guard.
In 2024, Skule allowed 12 pressures and four sacks across 213 pass-blocking snaps with the Bucs.
Skule will give the Vikings a quality and experienced backup tackle behind starters Christian Darrisaw, who is coming back from a significant knee injury, and Brian O'Neil.
Minnesota has completely revamped its offensive line during free agency. Skule joins center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries as new arrivals for the Vikings up front on offense.

According to The Athletic's Kevin Kurz, a team source "strongly denied" to him that the Flyers are interested in Hague. In addition, Kurz also added that he does not believe the Flyers will trade for the 26-year-old. While Hague appears not to be on the Flyers' radar, adding a new defenseman should be one of the Flyers' top priorities this summer. It is no secret that their blueline could use a boost, and this is especially the case when it comes to their right side. Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see what happens with Hague this summer, but Kurz's report creates some doubt about the possibility that Philly will end up acquiring the 2017 third-round pick. Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently released its Top 32 linebacker rankings for the 2025 football season. Advertisement The usual top contenders, including Fred Warner, Bobby Wagner, and Roquan Smith, made the list. However, former Aggie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper's strong finish to the 2024 season turned heads, putting him on the fast track for a starting role this upcoming NFL season. The second-round pick earned multiple accolades, including NFC Defensive Player of the Week and NFC Rookie of the Month. He has all the makings of a future Pro Bowler and a cornerstone of the Packers' defense as he plays out his rookie contract. Cooper closed out his rookie season with 57 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one interception. Things are just getting started for the young defensive phenom, and we can't wait to see what he accomplishes in his career.
