Deal of the day: Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 for 30% off
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 earned its place on our list of the best smartwatches thanks to its sleek design and customizable features. Currently, the watch is 30% off, reducing the price to $230 for the 44 mm style and $200 for the 40 mm version. If you've had your eye on getting a smart watch, this is a deal worth considering. NBC Select editors who have previously tested the Samsung Galaxy Watch have appreciated its comfort and the customizable screen. It has an always-on display and has two buttons to bring you home or back. It's worth noting that these buttons can be programmed to perform other tasks, such as opening a specific app of your choice. You can also customize the watch face to display whatever you'd like — whether it's specific stats or just the time. Along with sending texts, answering calls and receiving notifications, this watch has a tap-to-pay function and connects with Samsung Health to track things like sleep and steps. It works with all Android phones, but some of its features are only compatible with Samsung phones. Why trust NBC Select? From dancing robots to DeepSeek, the university helping China to win tech race

Twenty years ago, the sweeping campus of Zhejiang University in China's one-time capital Hangzhou would not feature in any lists of top international seats of learning. Even now, when it ranks among the world's best, it would probably elicit the reaction 'Where?' from most people outside China. But as of this year that has changed, thanks to a legion of earnest young tech entrepreneurs — they can reasonably be called nerds — like Liu Chang and Sean Pan. Zhejiang University campus in Hangzhou ALAMY Zhejiang has won the nickname locally as the 'mother of little dragons' — new tech start-ups like the AI company DeepSeek that are taking the world by storm. And there are more dragons on their way, if Chang and Pan have their way.
