Hidden cocktail lounge by the Colliers opens inside 3rd & Fernwood
A hidden bar recently opened inside 3rd & Fernwood at The Metropolitan.
Why it matters: The Cocktail Lounge at 3rd is the latest project by husband-and-wife duo and local restaurateurs Subrina Collier and James Beard-nominated chef Greg Collier.
The vibe: Tucked away in the back of 3rd & Fernwood at 1100 Metropolitan Ave, The Cocktail Lounge at 3rd offers an intimate setting with moody green lighting and seating for just 17 guests.
How it works: Similar to the Supperland Speakeasy, you must purchase a ticket to secure a reservation at The Cocktail Lounge at 3rd.
Tickets are $40 per person and include two cocktails of your choice and three light bites from a rotating menu.
The drink menu has seven cocktails with house-made infusions, syrups and bitters.
For an additional $20 you can have a 2oz pour of any one of the 11 house infused liquors, like apple tequila or mushroom mezcal.
Dig in: Chefs Greg Collier and Courtney Evans, formerly of the Colliers' now-closed Leah & Louise, have crafted a selection of small plates designed to complement the cocktails.
Highlights include black garlic ciabatta with sweet potato oil and truffle salt, shito-grilled shrimp with peanut-okra puffed rice, and pommes paillasson with carrot gin aioli and ribeye.
My thought bubble: The food portions are snack sized and not intended to be a meal, so this is an experience you'd opt for if you're searching for a place to have pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.
The big picture: Hidden bars and speakeasies are popping up all over Charlotte.

Zoom out: 3rd & Fernwood opened last year at the Metropolitan offering chef Greg's familiar Southern seasonal fare. Its menu features sandwiches, salads and plenty of sides.
Between the lines: Last year, the Colliers moved their James Beard-nominated restaurant Leah & Louise out of Camp North End with promises to reopen in west Charlotte.
We asked Greg what the progress is on that search and he told us "we have a space or two we really love, but nothing finalized."

Taraji P. Henson Goes Textural in Christian Siriano Dress for ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
Taraji P. Henson was joined by filmmaker Tyler Perry during their joint appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on Tuesday in New York City. The director and Oscar-nominated actress were on-hand to discuss their forthcoming film 'Straw.' For the late-night talk show appearance, Henson turned to the runway for her attire. The actress put a textural, contemporary spin on the little black dress with flashes of classic inspiration courtesy of designer Christian Siriano. The sleeveless black dress featured a plunging neckline and midi length, which showcased Henson's heels courtesy of Giuseppe Zanotti. The dress included such elements as a cinched waist for added silhouette definition and featured a corseted element as well. Henson kept the dress as the centerpiece of her look, adding delicate pieces of jewelry, including rings and earrings. Her pixie cut hair was styled in a sleek look with makeup elements featuring bold brows, lined eyes and a glossy lip. Siriano's little black dress follows an ongoing trend of creative takes on the wardrobe staple. On Monday, Amanda Seyfried styled a little black dress by Rabanne with a bevy of fringe details. Back in May 2024, Sydney Sweeney wore a little black dress from Miu Miu's fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection that featured hip cutouts. Siriano's fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection was all about resistance, as noted by WWD's Thomas Waller in a review of the collection. 'The world has changed and Siriano wanted a bit of defiance on his runway, including a massive red cloak that was a direct nod to the final season of 'The Handmaid's Tale,'' Waller wrote. 'He collaborated with Hulu to design a custom piece that has been used as a sign of protest in the fight for women's rights worldwide. The protest idea was seen with a mix of his early red looks with cascading fabric that felt restrictive yet powerful.' Henson stars in Perry's 'Straw,' about a single mother who goes to unimaginable lengths to secure a future for herself and her young daughter. The film costars Sherri Shepherd and Teyana Taylor. 'Straw' releases on Netflix on Friday. View Gallery Launch Gallery: Taraji P. This Chanel Look Made Nico Parker Feel Like the Ultimate Princess
From the big screen to the red carpet, Nico Parker is living the dream. In a brief few years, the actress has starred in several major projects, including Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Last of Us, and, most recently, as Astrid Hofferson in the highly anticipated live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon (based on the hit movie and book of the same name released in 2010 and 2003, respectively). Last night, the BAFTA-nominated actress and Chanel ambassador attended the film's L.A. premiere, stepping out on the red carpet in a gorgeous rose-colored gown fresh off the house's fall/winter 2025 runway, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray. When Parker initially saw the look from the show, it was love at first sight. The floor-length dress was accented by a tiered ruffled skirt and delicate bows. She layered a sheer silk shawl over the ensemble, enhancing its ethereal, fairy-tale charm. The fashion didn't stop there. There was also a stunning assortment of Chanel fine jewelry on display that brought out the soft undertones of the blush pink, including two rings and a pair of earrings. The overall vibe exuded a princess-like elegance—precisely what Parker and Corbin-Murray aimed for, and perfectly suited to the fun, fantasy-filled action film. On the carpet, Parker posed alongside her co-star Mason James, who plays her romantic interest, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Below, see how she got ready for her big night.
