AS I wind my way through a spooky mansion in the darkness, a ghostly figure appears.

I'm one of the first people to try the new Ghostly Manor ride, which opened this weekend, at
The new £3.5million attraction transforms riders into ghostbusters aboard a four-seater carriage and armed with a 'Phantom Phaser' to shoot down as many mischievous ghouls as they can manage.
At the end, each person gets a score and those with the highest make it on to the leaderboard.
This spooky experience is for guests aged five and above, with a parent, while anyone over eight can ride solo — and it's unlike any other ride at the Hampshire park.

I was visiting with my dad, partner Joe and our two-year-old twins Jack and Sienna.
When we weren't hunting down ghosts in the haunted mansion, we were checking out the other toddler-friendly rides or posing next to Peppa Pig and her little brother George.
They offer meet and greet sessions outside the schoolhouse twice a day, at 10.30am and 3pm.

Everything from the food to the baby changing facilities has been designed with children in mind, and the toilets were spacious and spotless.
Better still, every loo has a mini seat for little bums, which, coming from a mum about to embark on potty training, is ingenious.
Inside Peppa Pig World
There's plenty to keep little ones entertained, including several playgrounds and a Peppa Pig-themed soft play area.
When it came to the rides, we didn't queue more than 15 minutes for anything.

Peppa Pig World may be the main draw for many, but there's so much to do elsewhere in the park, too.
We loved the dinosaur-themed area, Lost Kingdom, where kids can ride a jeep and travel back in time with The Dinosaur Tour Co Jurassic Expedition, getting up close with prehistoric giants.
Jack and Sienna also loved seeing flamingos and rare birds in real life at one of a number of animal enclosures on site. There are penguins too.
If you're visiting with older kids, aside from the new Ghostly Manor ride, you should be sure to check out the Flight Of The Pterosaur, a dino-themed suspended rollercoaster.

My dad and Joe also sneaked off while the little ones were napping to try out the Storm Chaser rollercoaster, a 16-person thrill ride that spins riders around in circles as well as up and down a winding track.
Make sure you download the mobile app before you go as it has an easy-to-use interactive map, which is great for getting your bearings.

It also has information about how long wait times are.
Plus, it lists where the nearest food stalls are and what they sell.
If you're looking for a place to crash nearby, hotel Voco Fareham Solent has excellent interconnecting rooms that are great for families.
It is a 30-minute drive from the theme park and anyone booking a short break at the hotel directly through the Paultons Park website will bag a second day in the park for free.

And while I won't ever forget the huge smiles on my kids' faces and the excitement in their eyes, the downside now is they won't stop asking when we're going back to visit their mate Peppa.

The rappers have become so popular on the Falls Road that kids aren't only snapping up their famous tricolour balaclavas, but are tucking into Kneecap-themed sweets and chocolate! The Sunday World visited several shops on the Falls Road and Andersonstown this week and saw shelves full of Kneecap merchandise. It comes as the group were thrust into the headlines after band member Mo Chara was charged by UK anti-terror cops with waving a Hezbollah flag at a London concert. He is to appear in court in 17 days. Back in nationalist west Belfast, the band's hallmark green, white and orange balaclava is now a must-have fashion accessory for many youngsters. We even came across a boy walking home from school with his parents who was wearing one! 'They are literally flying out the door. And as the song says, 'We just can't get enough',' a Falls Road retailer told us this week. Anything to do with the trio is flying off the shelves in west Belfast She added: 'This is a phenomenon. It's like Riverdance all over again. The tricolour balaclava is the most popular thing to hit Belfast since sliced bread!' But it's not just the colourful woolie hats which are notching up big sales figures in the west these days – it's literally anything at all connected to Kneecap, we have learned. Shops on the Falls are coming down with Kneecap merchandise. Bags of jelly and liquorice sweets are selling like hot cakes. And Kneecap bars of chocolate with bilingual wrapping are proving popular with kids. And an elderly lady in the same shop said: 'To tell you the truth, I had never heard of Kneecap until two weeks ago. But now it seems their merchandise is getting product placement everywhere you go. Good luck to them.' And the band received the full backing of the Daly family from Sheffield, who were visiting Belfast on holiday. Mum Jo Daly said she firmly believed Kneecap was being scapegoated over the band's stance on Gaza and support for the Palestinian cause. 'It appears to be a concerted campaign to damage the band's popularity. But as everyone can see it's had the opposite effect here,' Jo said. Rapping in Irish and English, Kneecap has been credited with creating a renewed interest among young people in learning Irish. June bank holiday in Limerick: here is what's on around the county
With so much on, there is no reason to not find something of interest in the county. Here are just some of the events taking place: Visit Limerick's famous Milk Market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday As it does every weekend, Limerick's milk market will be running over the Bank Holiday weekend and is sure to be bustling with crowds enjoying all that will be on offer. Friday and Sunday will see crafts, antiques and vintage put on display, will live music played by local artists will provide a fine atmosphere. Of course, there will be plenty of nourishment on offer too. Saturday will be all about the food, with a wide range of fresh produce and street food set to be available. The farmer's market will boast goods including cheeses, chutneys, just-caught fish and artisan meats. The Milk Market should provide plenty to see and taste for those of all ages this Bank Holiday weekend. Irish Acro Festival 2025 at Irish Aerial Creation Centre from Friday to Tuesday The second edition of the Acro Festival will be of interest to acrobats of all varieties. The five day festival promises plenty of fun and is set to welcome participants from all over the world. More than 20 local and international teachers are each set to share their unique skills and passion for Acroyoga through classes while traditional dance workshops will also be held. The festival is open to all level of participants and a family fun day, with special events for kids, will be held on Saturday. Inside Joe Duffy's family life with wife June and triplets
On June 27, Joe Duffy will hang up the mic after 27 years as host of Liveline, and 37 years with RTÉ. The veteran broadcaster has been listening to how 'it's a disgraaaace Joe' for decades, from problems ranging from the mundane to the incredibly serious. His final show will air on June 27. But while most of us know him as the man to talk to on 0818 715 815, there's more to Joe than some would know. Joe Duffy announced his retirement on Thursday, with his final broadcast to take place on June 27. Pic: RTÉ Raised in Ballyfermot, Joe became one of the first people from his area to attend Trinity College. He became heavily involved in the political life at Trinity, eventually ascending to the Presidency of the Union of Students in Ireland (USI). He was heavily involved in protests by the union highlighting access to education, and incredibly, spent two weeks in Mountjoy as a result. Yep, Joe did time in the Joy. After cutting his teeth as a producer and reporter on the Gay Byrne Show, Joe presented Liveline for over two and a half decades (the beard kinda suits him, doesn't it?) Pic: RTÉ Joe joined the national broadcaster as a radio producer, becoming more prominent as a reporter on The Gay Byrne Show in the 1990s — winning a Jacob's Award in 1992. From there, he presented other programmes such as Soundbyte before he took over as host of Liveline in 1998. In 2013, he was inducted into the PPI Hall of Fame and won various IMRO Awards, and has also hosted various television programmes — including Liveline Callback and The Meaning of Life, which he took over from Gay Byrne. Joe and his wife June, welcomed triplets Ronan, Sean and Ellen into the world in 1995. Joe said that he didn't realise they were having such an amount of children until a few weeks before their births, telling RSVP: 'I had three children at the same time back in 1995, I had three children, about 15 different theories about parenting. [But] you make it up as you go along, you can't play god, and you make it up as you go along. You also realise that even though they were completely disinterested at the time, they remember the places you brought them and the stories you told them over the years.' 'People felt they could pick up the phone, ring Liveline, and share their lives, problems, stories sad, bad, sometimes mad and funny, their struggles, and their victories.
