Officials suspect Estupinan's ex-boyfriend could be the shooter after she won a domestic violence case against him the day beforeA Colombian influencer has been killed just days after influencer Valeria Marquez was fatally shot during her livestream in Mexico.
According to CNN, 22-year-old Maria Jose Estupinan was killed on May 15. She reportedly attended university in Cúcuta near the border of Venezuela.
The outlet reports that the president of the National Gender Commission of the Colombian Judiciary, Magda Victoria Acosta, told the press at a news conference that a man pretending to be a delivery person shot Estupinan at her residence.
Local news outlet Noticias Caracol reported that the suspect shot the student multiple times in Norte de Santander.
Per NDTV, security footage captured a man running away as Estupinan's screams were heard.
The social media star reportedly died later from her injuries at the hospital.
'We are verifying. The Judicial Police has already begun carrying out the necessary activities to identify and determine the whereabouts of the person who shot this young woman,' Colonel Leonardo Capacho, commander of District One of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, said in a statement to Noticias Caracol.

The official also said that the suspect could be Estupinan's ex-partner, whom she previously reported for domestic violence.
"It could be an alleged femicide, since she filed several complaints for domestic violence in previous years, but that is a matter of investigation,' Capacho said.
Estupinan was also set to be given a reward of 30 million pesos after winning a domestic violence case against her ex the day before.
Alejandra Vera, director of the organization, Mujer Denuncia y Muévete, which translates to Women Report and Move, told the outlet that the victim's ex 'stalked her and abused her, and she reported it to the authorities. By filing a complaint, she activated the route, requested assistance and requested full protection and security, and above all, that she could enjoy a life free of violence.'
'The Colombian state has failed this young woman," Vera added.
Estupinan's death comes days after 23-year-old influencer Valeria Marquez was shot dead while livestreaming from her beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico, on May 13.
While Marquez was not at the salon, a man had previously gone to the location pretending to be a delivery driver. He reportedly said he needed to deliver a gift to the social media star.
She then arrived at her salon called Blossom and spoke on TikTok about being fearful due to hearing about a man asking about her.
'Maybe they were going to kill me. Were they going to come and take me away, or what?' she said in the livestream before being shot.
Authorities believe Marquez may have been targeted by hitmen.

Cooper of Kennewick told police the baby had been demanding and needed constant attention. His patience had worn thin and he allegedly began hurting the boy. Now prosecutors have charged Cooper with second-degree assault of a child. He is being held in the Benton County jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond. Cooper and his wife allegedly brought the child to Trios Southridge Hospital on June 2 after his wife found one of the infant's legs was more solid than the other one. When doctor's examined the child, they found his left leg had been badly broken. The child was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for treatment. When doctors examined the baby there, they found he had multiple small breaks in both legs, a broken clavicle as well bruises on his arm. While the couple told doctors that they believed Cooper had rolled over on the child while they were sleeping together, the doctors said the injuries didn't match the story. A Spokane officer questioned the couple, and after they shared various stories, the officer spoke to Cooper alone. After being told that the story didn't make sense, Cooper allegedly admitted becoming angry with the child. He allegedly grabbed the child by the leg and stood him up using it. Cooper said he was angry, so he pushed the child down to get the swaddle as tight as possible. He told investigators that his wife didn't know anything about the abuse. The baby and his older brother were taken into protective custody by Child Protective Services.

‘Speak up:' Myrtle Beach woman dies four days before planned departure from abusive relationship
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) –News13 investigates the death of a Myrtle Beach woman as the four-year anniversary of her death approaches. The coroner's office ruled Angela Roberts' death undetermined but after digging into the case, her family believes there's more to the story. Myrtle Beach Police have also since re-opened the case. In 2021, Angela Roberts, 28, was just four days away from leaving her boyfriend of almost 10 years before she died. Her family says they wish they got to her sooner because they say the most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive relationship is when she's trying to leave. 'I thought, 'oh I'm going there in a few days, it will be fine.' And I never expected it to be this,' Bethany Colley, Robert's first cousin said. Roberts lived in Myrtle Beach with her boyfriend Kody Gaines. She loved animals and always wanted to be a mother. But after a failed pregnancy, her cousins Sherry Jimenez and Bethany Colley say the couple's relationship took a turn. 'We had gone out with just the three of us,' Jimenez said. 'He was fine, you know seemed cool about it. And then I just remember her receiving, like, a lot of phone calls. Where are you? Where are you? Why aren't you back yet? Wanting to know what her location was.' 'Then we were all talking and she said, you know, shh you got to be quiet, like, be careful what you say, because he has video cameras up and he can hear like what we're saying,' Colley said. Colley says the morning of July 20, 2021, Roberts had packed her bags ready to leave and live with Colley. Instead, she got a call and was told her cousin had been shot. Colley says she booked a flight and when she got to the hospital Roberts was only being kept alive by a machine. 'And there was a very small amount of activity, you know, so even as devastated as we were, I had some kind of little hope, maybe,' Colley said. Colley says later that night, Roberts' boyfriend Gaines told her family Roberts followed him around their home with a gun and eventually he pinned her on the ground face down after she pointed it at him. 'He told us that he walked away and then she stood up and shot herself and her body went stiff, and she fell over,' Colley said. 'But he told the police something different. He told the police that he was asking her where the other gun was and he looked away and then heard a shot and she had shot herself.' Police reports Colley provided to News13 state Gaines had nearly a pound of marijuana, $23,000 in money, digital scales and plastic bags in his possession at the time of her death. One report states he had been arrested that same day for drugs. Another report states an unnamed man in the home was acting frantically, his left hand was covered in blood and he washed his hands before anyone could stop him. It goes on to state Gaines claimed Roberts' paranoia started the week before and says he told police quote, 'I didn't know what I was about to do.' It also mentions he was making crying sounds, but police did not see any tears or redness from his eyes. One report states police responded to their home for a possible suicide. In 2022, the coroner's office ruled her death undetermined. 'None of it,' Colley said. 'None of the story lines up. It just doesn't.' After Roberts' death, her family says they spoke to her friends and requested police reports which revealed something deeper they weren't aware of. Colley says he broke down doors, grabbed Roberts by the hair, tracked her whereabouts, had cameras in their home and had access to her bank and social media accounts. Colley provided bank statements to News13 and says nearly two weeks after her death, Gaines transferred $5600 from Roberts' account to his. 'I don't know, it painted a very scary picture in our minds of what kind of life she was in the middle of with him,' Colley said. Colley and Jimenez say they're grateful police are putting new eyes on her case. They say they're hopeful Roberts' story can help someone in a similar situation get out before it's too late. 'Speak up, be brave,' Jimenez said. 'You know, people love you and care about you. And if we would have known sooner, maybe we could have done something.' News13 reached out to Gaines via email and his social media for comment but never received a response. He also blocked a reporter on social media. So far, no arrests have been made in Roberts' death. Dominic Ferrell, a rising high school senior, was asleep in a condo on the 34th floor of the Icon Brickell when he was fatally stabbed. Police say the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kyrill Kehl of Arizona, entered the unlocked unit, attacked the teen, and later fell to his death from a nearby building. Father violated protective order, documents show Court documents obtained by CBS News Miami reveal that Ferrell's parents were in the process of divorcing and that his mother had filed a restraining order on behalf of herself and her children following a reported incident of domestic violence. The documents state that in February, Ferrell's father came home intoxicated, pulled his wife from bed, and threw her to the ground. After the order was filed, the court mandated that the father stay away from Dominic and his siblings. However, the documents allege he convinced Dominic to spend substantial time with him despite the order. Ferrell was staying at the apartment with his father when the stabbing occurred. Investigation ongoing as loved ones mourn A video shows Dominic Ferrell during his middle school graduation, describing his time at St. Peter and Paul School. Friends remember him as outgoing and joyful. The court has released Ferrell's remains to his mother for funeral arrangements. Authorities have not yet determined why Kehl attacked Ferrell. A toxicology report is pending to determine if the suspect was under the influence during the attack.
