Footage of the ‘Tennessee Zebra' Being Saved Is Giving ‘Defying Gravity' Vibes

Footage of the 'Tennessee Zebra' Being Saved Is Giving 'Defying Gravity' Vibes originally appeared on PetHelpful. It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a — zebra? People in central Tennessee were stunned when they looked up and saw a zebra being airlifted in the sky. The zebra had been on the loose for more than a week before officials managed to track the animal down and take him back to safety. But not before the internet caught wind of the animal's escapades and made him a star. The zebra became instant internet gold after videos started circulating of him online. Call the clip wickedly good. The video shows the zebra being airlifted to a song from the hit musical Wicked. And it's just so fitting. Guess the zebra was defying gravity, right? 'THE TENNESSEE ZEBRA IS SAVED,' the video's poster, Peyton Kennedy wrote in the comments section couldn't help but laugh. 'Why does he look so embarrassed?' wondered one person. 'He's like, 'Yup, that's me. You probably wonder how I got here…'' another commenter joked. 'Imagine living your whole life on the ground and then all the sudden this happens,' quipped another person. 'Imagine not knowing there was a missing zebra and then just seeing this,' someone else teased. According to the Associated Press, the zebra is named Ed and first came to Christiana, Tennessee on May 30. His owner reported him missing the next day. From that point on, the wild animal was spotted in different spots around town, including along Interstate 24. The zebra's appearance caused police to shut the interstate down, but they still weren't able to capture him. Ed continued to be spotted out and about in Christian. Footage of the animal was shared on social media, prompting all sorts of hilarious memes and videos. Eventually the zebra was tracked down to a pasture near a subdivision. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office confirmed that once they spotted the zebra they sent out aviation crews to reign the animal in. 'Ed was airlifted and flown by helicopter back to a waiting animal trailer,' a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said in a statement. We're sure that Ed was a little nervous being that high in the air during the rescue. But take heart, Ed! You've become internet gold. Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Wicked star Jeff Goldblum reveals that once celebrity he was 'very starstruck' by

Jeff Goldblum was "very starstruck" when he got to meet George Clooney for the first time. The 72-year-old actor has worked with A-listers such as Julia Roberts, Matthew Broderick and Ariana Grande over the course of his decades-long career in film, but admitted that he was very taken aback when he got to see the Ticket to Paradise star backstage at his Broadway show Good Night, and Good Luck alongside Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney. Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he said: "I was very excited. After the play, I was looking and [McCartney and I] both got a chance to go backstage and meet George and the cast. "I saw him in the flesh for the first time ever, and there he was. "I just thought 'My golly, I'm very starstruck,' because he means a lot to me." The Wicked actor described George as being "very nice" to him and couldn't help but "brag" in revealing that it was the former ER star who asked him for a picture, as opposed to the other way round. "He was very is bragging, I shouldn't do it. "But he said, 'Jeff, Jeff Goldblum. I love Jeff Goldblum. Come here, Jeff, let's take a picture,' and all that stuff. "It made my life and my year." Meanwhile, Jeff was full of praise for the Beatles and recounted discovering the rock band - which also consisted of John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison - in his early teen years. He added: "Everybody, you've all got stories like this." "But I was a kid when I Want to Hold Your Hand and 'She Loves You, came out. "And I remember Suzy Connolly ... in her cut-off jean shorts, and I was like 12, 13... "And they went, 'Here, come and listen to this song.' It's all mixed in my nostalgic bosom in a way that's very, very exciting and meaningful."

Why 'Wicked: For Good' team is 'nervous' about sequel

Can 'Wicked: For Good' be 'Wicked: As Good'? That's the pressure facing the filmmakers behind the sequel to 'Wicked,' which set a box-office record as the highest-grossing movie adaptation of a Broadway musical after its release last November. 'Everybody's thrilled that the first movie was so incredibly well received and had such cultural impact,' composer Stephen Schwartz, 77, exclusively told The Post on the red carpet of the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony — where he received the Johnny Mercer Award — on Thursday night. 4 Stephen Schwartz is still 'working really hard' on the 'Wicked' For Good' sequel just five months before its release. ©Universal/Courtesy Everett Collection 4 Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo return as Galinda/Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, in 'Wicked: For Good.' ©Universal/Courtesy Everett Collection 'But it does raise the bar,' he admitted of the film that received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. 'So we're all a little nervous.' Indeed, Schwartz is still 'working really hard' on the sequel — once again starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Galinda/Glinda, respectively — just five months before its release on Nov. 21. 'I'm still doing scoring,' he said. 'We have our orchestral recording sessions next month, so gotta get ready for that.' Schwartz is also busy working on another Broadway musical that will reunite him with Kristin Chenoweth, who originated the role of 'Galinda/Glinda' in the stage version of 'Wicked' in 2003. 'We have a new Broadway show opening in November, 'The Queen of Versailles,' ' he said. 'Again, we're working very hard. We had a really good tryout last summer, but we learned a lot from it and are, you know, continuing to make improvements. But we feel like we're ready to go a few months from now.' 4 Stephen Schwartz was honored by Kristin Chenoweth and Mary Kate Morrissey for receiving the Johnny Mercer Award. Getty Images for Songwriters Hall Of Fame For those expecting more of 'Wicked' in his new musical, Schwartz explained that we're not in Oz anymore. 'It's contemporary America and a little bit of 17th century France, so not Oz at all,' he said. 'Kristin obviously will still be using that enormous gift of hers vocally and her comic gifts. So in that there will be a continuity, but it's a very, very different character, and you see another side of Kristin.' 'It's always great to work with Kristin,' he went on. 'We do a lot of stuff. We did some concerts together, and I've done classes for her Broadway Bootcamp. We're friends.' 4 Stephen Schwartz performed his 'Pippin' tune 'Corner of the Sky' after receiving the Johnny Mercer Award. Getty Images for Songwriters Hall Of Fame Indeed, Chenoweth showed up for her friend at NYC's Marriott Marquis, bringing the house down on the 'Wicked' duet 'For Good' with Mary Kate Morrissey — who ended her run as Elphaba on Broadway in March — before giving Schwartz his latest SHOF honor on Thursday. 'It's amazing just to be here tonight when so many amazing songwriters are being celebrated,' said Schwartz, who was previously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009. 'I looked at the list of the Johnny Mercer Award winners, and it's just all the great musical theater writers of the last, I don't know, 40 years or so,' he added. 'The fact that my name will be on that list now is so stunning to me and so humbling. They are writers who I've listened to all my life, who I've learned from, I've stole from. And I am forever grateful to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.'
