AMMAN — Week 18 of the CFI Jordan Professional Football resumed on Thursday with teams scrambling for points in the final weeks of the competition.
Hussein's lead has been slashed after their second draw before they face Faisali, who are trying to keep a consistent form and improve their performance after a turbulent season.
Wihdat, who lost the Jordan Super Cup final to Hussein and the Shield final to Salt, aim to beat Shabab Urdun to try to keep their competitive chances alive as the Jordan Cup is also up for grabs in the final stages of the seasons competitions.
Jazira have improved their record after six wins and are fifth with a postponed match ahead, now face Salt hoping to repeat their Leg 1 win and advance their spot.
Jazira will also play Hussein in a postponed match later in the week with Wihdat playing Sarih as Hussein and Wihdat played and exited the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Champions League (ACL) Two in the Round of 16.
In other matches, it's Mughayer Sarhanvs Sarih, Ahli vs Aqaba and Ma'an vs Ramtha with teams scrambling to get away from the relegation zone.

This evening, Sunday, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan celebrates its 79th Independence Day with dazzling fireworks displays across the country, in festive atmospheres that reflect national pride and reinforce the spirit of belonging. اضافة اعلان Fireworks will launch in most locations at 10:00 PM, with the exception of the Sixth Circle Towers in Amman, where the display will begin at 9:30 PM, and in Aqaba, where the show will start at 11:00 PM. In Jerash, the fireworks will launch from the Southern Amphitheater, and in Ajloun, from Al-Hussein Youth Camp Square. Other locations include the Madaba Visitors Center, Al-Qala'a Square in Karak, Tafila Sports Stadium, and the Princess Haya bint Al-Hussein Complex in Ma'an. In Aqaba, the final and grand display will illuminate the skies above the Great Arab Revolt Square at 11:00 PM, marking the festive conclusion of the national celebrations. These fireworks are part of the annual official and public events held across Jordan to commemorate Independence Day, expressing deep pride in the nation, its leadership, and the enduring values of unity and achievement.

At Amman International Stadium Hussein Irbid booked their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory over 21-time Cup winners Faisali. The decisive moment came in the 75th minute when Sisa, a former Faisali forward, found the back of the net with a clinical finish, capitalising on a defensive lapse to stun his former club. The match was closely fought, with both sides struggling to create clear chances. Faisali pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Hussein Irbid held firm defensively to preserve their lead and secure a historic victory. In the other semifinal at King Abdullah II stadium, Wihdat edged Al Ahli 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw. The shootout was decided when M. Haddad of Al Ahli missed his attempt, sending the ball wide, before the goalkeeper Fakhouri stepped up to scorethe winning penalty and seal Wihdat's place in the final. The final is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, and will take place at Amman International Stadium, as confirmed by the Jordan Football Association. Hussein Irbid will be aiming for a landmark title, while Wehdat look to add yet another trophy to their record.
