NBA Twitter reacts to Sixers selecting Johni Broome with No. 35 pick

The Philadelphia 76ers made their second selection of the 2025 NBA draft on Thursday night as they decided to take a chance on Auburn star Johni Broome with the No. 35 overall pick. Broome, the 2025 SEC Player of the Year, slid to Round 2 after averaging 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game. After spending two seasons at Morehead State, Broome transferred to Auburn and dominated with the Tigers. He was a 5-year college player and will be 23 before the season starts which limits his upside a bit, but Broome is somebody who can score around the basket, brings physicality, and is a ferocious offensive rebounder. As the Sixers move forward with their new rookie class of Broome and Baylor star VJ Edgecombe--who was selected No. 3 overall in Round 1 of the draft--NBA Twitter gave its best reactions to the selection of Broome for Philadelphia:
