Forest Park Police say two people are dead in a late Sunday afternoon shootout
A late Sunday afternoon shootout in Forest Park appears to have left two people dead and three others in the hospital.
Police said the shooting happened on Jones Road, near the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and 1st street around 5 p.m.

Forest Park Police Chief Brandon Criss told Channel 2's Eryn Rogers that his investigators believe the shooting happened during a motorcycle gathering at a mechanic's shop in the city.
Criss said that there were no suspects in custody but there also was no danger to residents in the small Clayton County city.

Officers investigated and arrested four individuals, according to the post. Two of the seven firearms recovered were stolen. One was from Dayton and one was from another county. A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection to an aggravated assault where he was accused of shooting at another juvenile. An 18-year-old male was arrested for tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old male was arrested for tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstructing official business. And a 35-year-old female was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a controlled substance, according to the post. Union City town homes burn in fire at Oakley Commons Boulevard
Several Union City townhomes burned in a fire on Monday evening. According to the Union City Fire Department, crews responded to a structure fire reported at 5380 Oakley Commons Boulevard soon after 5 p.m. When they arrived, along with crews from Fairburn Fire and the City of South Fulton Fire departments, they found heavy smoke and fire. Man accused of killing Roswell police officer to appear in court for plea hearing
A plea hearing is scheduled for Tuesday morning in the case of a man accused of killing a Roswell police officer. Edward Espinoza is accused of shooting Officer Jeremy Labonte, 24, several times outside Ace Pickleball Club in February. Video shows Espinoza enter the pickleball club and speak with an employee who he asked if there were any Marines there. 'At that time, he followed up by saying, if there's any Marines, there was going to be trouble,' investigator Jerriel Mann said in court. When Espinoza went outside, the employee called 911.
