Top 2025 Summer Fashion Trends: Dark Colors & Unconventional Cuts

Pasant Elzaitony The summer fashion trends for this season are defined by sophisticated and standout details. Dresses, skirts, pants, and tank tops are seen everywhere. However, what truly sets this season apart is how these pieces are paired together. The '90s trend is making a comeback, particularly with the look of pants under dresses and skirts which is an iconic '90s fashion statement. • Unconventional Colors Summer is usually known for its bright, light colors, but this season dark tones are making a bold statement. Shades like brown and burgundy are among the top used colors for the summer palette, along with deep navy blue. At the same time, pastel hues remain popular, and all shades of yellow are trending, from soft butter yellow to vibrant canary. Floral tones, from pink to fuchsia, are also in vogue, alongside enchanting shades of green. • Standout Prints This summer brings prints typically reserved for winter, like large and small plaids, into the spotlight. Stripes, both vertical and horizontal, are also trending, along with polka dots. Animal prints, such as leopard, zebra, and snake, are prominent too. Just choose one pattern and incorporate it into your look whether it's a bag, belt, pants, or a top. • Unconventional Details It seems fashion designers are determined to break out of their comfort zones and take 2025 fashion into bolder, more experimental territory. One striking design features one pant leg and one skirt side in a single piece. Ruffles (seen in dreamy, flowing dresses) are also making a strong comeback. Finally, shine this summer, express your style freely, and mix and match from your wardrobe in a way that reflects your unique personality. Rainforest Camping Returns to The Green Planet Dubai This Summer

Rainforest sleepovers are back at The Green Planet Dubai from May 30th to November 1st, with guided tours, animal encounters, and overnight tents inside the tropical biodome. May 30, 2025 A tropical getaway in the UAE? Where else? The Green Planet, Dubai's lush indoor biodome, is bringing back its popular 'Camping in the Rainforest' experience this summer. From May 30th to November 1st, guests can spend the night surrounded by waterfalls, thick tropical greenery, and over 3,000 species of plants and animals — all inside the City Walk attraction. Running every Friday and Saturday night, the camp kicks off at 7:00 PM and wraps up by 8:00 AM the next morning. Guests can explore the rainforest by torchlight, with expert guides pointing out the nocturnal rhythms of the ecosystem — think fluttering bats, rustling leaves, and animals settling into their nighttime routines. The experience includes animal encounters, hands-on nature activities, and a torch-lit tour of the biodome. There's a buffet dinner, marshmallow roasting, and a nature documentary screening before campers head to their tents nestled among the trees. The morning wraps up with breakfast at The Green Planet Café and optional feeding sessions with some of the animals. The overnight camp is limited to 25 people per night, priced at AED 900 for two or AED 1,700 for four. Bookings are available through The Green Planet's official website. The camping experience is part of The Green Planet's broader educational programmes, designed to build awareness around biodiversity and environmental conservation by giving families a chance to connect with nature — without leaving the city. Regular daytime visits to The Green Planet will continue as usual throughout the summer.

Hiba Tawaji & Oussama Rahbani to Perform at Dubai Opera September 6th

Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji will perform alongside long-time collaborator Oussama Rahbani in a special Dubai Opera concert. May 08, 2025 Lebanese vocalist and actress Hiba Tawaji will take the stage at Dubai Opera on Saturday, September 6th, for a concert highlighting her long-standing collaboration with composer and producer Oussama Rahbani. Known for seamlessly blending Arabic and Western influences, Tawaji will revisit some of her most celebrated songs, including 'Baad Sneen', 'Min Li Byekhtar', 'Yemken Habaytak', and 'Savoir Amer'. Her wide-ranging repertoire spans theatrical ballads, contemporary Arabic pop, and reinterpretations of classic Lebanese works, all shaped by Rahbani's distinct musical direction. Tawaji rose to international prominence after competing in The Voice France, where she reached the semi-finals under Mika's mentorship. Since then, she has built a global career performing on major stages, including the prestigious Baalbeck International Festival, and releasing music through Universal Music Arabia. The Dubai performance continues her ongoing partnership with Rahbani, a key figure in modernising the Rahbani musical legacy while fostering fresh interpretations of Lebanese and regional music. Ticketing information has yet to be announced, but further details will be made available on PlatinumList's official platform closer to the concert date.
