Bronx Anti-War Coalition - Which Endorsed D.C. Shooter Elias Rodriguez - Holds 'Glory to the Resistance Axis' Rally on May 3: They Taught Us What We Need to Do; Liberation Is Carried out Through Armed
This clip is from the May 3, 2025 'Glory to the Resistance' march and rally in support of the Iran-led Resistance Axis, held in Queens and organized by the Bronx Anti-War Coalition — a group that has celebrated Elias Rodriguez's May 21 attack at the D.C. Capital Jewish Museum, where he murdered two staffers at the Israeli embassy.
A masked speaker, wearing a shirt featuring Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi, urged attendees to follow the example of armed struggle led by 'resistance groups' in West Asia — the term used by Iran for the Middle East. He stated:
'They taught us what we need to do […], they are teaching us how liberation is actually carried out in real time - it is through armed struggle, OK.'
He also declared:
'We need to have a revolution right here, right now, to save ourselves from death from the U.S. war machine.'
The speaker criticized what he called superficial opposition to Zionism, stating:
'Anti-Zionism is not just criticism of Israel's policy, no, no, no.'
The video then cuts off.
Participants in the rally carried a large banner featuring images of U.S.-designated terrorist leaders: Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah; Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyah; Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida; IRGC Qods Force commander Qasem Soleimani; Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi; and Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Marchers also waved flags of Hizbullah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) military wing Al-Quds Brigades, the Houthi Ansar Allah movement, and Hamas's Al-Qassam Brigades.
The video was posted by the World Workers Party on Instagram, which also issued a statement expressing understanding for Rodriguez's attack, declaring:
'Acts of resistance, even individual acts, are inevitable and deserve support and defense.'
The group also shared Rodriguez's manifesto outlining his justification for the attack.
On April 27, 2025, the Bronx Anti-War Coalition co-hosted a panel with the Workers World Party, The New School Alumni for Palestine, the United National Anti-War Coalition, and Black Intifada.

Iraq launches program to increase oil and gas reserves
Baghdad ( – Iraq's attempts to optimize its oil and gas reserves continue with a new program aimed at drilling 15 exploratory wells, which would raise state earnings and assist the country's budget and economy. The Iraqi Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, attended a ceremony held on Sunday to sign the first contract marking the launch of a new program by digging the first exploratory well, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA). Abdul-Ghani stressed his ministry's dedication to increasing oil and gas reserves and enhancing the country's standing among oil-producing countries. The new initiative is expected to boost Iraq's oil and gas reserves through more exploration in locations with potential volumes and reserves, according to Abdul-Ghani. The deal was signed by Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC), Oil Exploration Company (OEC), and North Oil Company (NOC). Iraq's efforts to optimize its oil and gas reserves coincide with the government's increased use of crude oil to generate power in the country amid limited Iranian gas supplies. Oil consumption for electricity generation in Iraq is expected to reach record levels in the coming months as part of attempts to avoid periodic power disruptions throughout the summer. Domestic demand for oil is predicted to increase by roughly 150,000 barrels per day between April and August 2025, boosting power output.

US offers Iran limited uranium enrichment
Shafaq News/ The United States proposed allowing Iran limited low-level uranium enrichment on its soil, Axios reported on Monday, citing two sources familiar with the matter. The proposal, submitted on Saturday, does not call for the full dismantlement of Iran's nuclear facilities. Instead, it permits Tehran to maintain a 3% enrichment capability under international oversight, with key terms — including the duration — still subject to negotiation. The sources described the offer as a departure from earlier US positions, viewing it as an indication of flexibility from President Donald Trump. It also contrasts with prior public statements by senior US officials, including White House envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who have repeatedly stated that Washington would not accept any enrichment activity within Iran, pressing for a complete dismantling of its nuclear infrastructure. The White House did not deny any of the reported details when contacted by Axios. The proposal is expected to raise tensions between Washington and Israel. The Israeli government has long opposed any arrangement that allows Iran to retain elements of its nuclear program. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the United States to adopt a stricter posture, rejecting any compromise that could enable Tehran to maintain nuclear-related capabilities, even at limited levels. In Tehran, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei indicated that Iran is still evaluating the US proposal, noting that Washington has yet to offer sufficient assurances regarding the timeline and mechanism for lifting sanctions, which Iranian officials view as a central issue in any negotiation.

Anti-Tank missile kills 3 Israeli troops in Gaza
Shafaq News/ On Monday, three Israeli soldiers were killed and two others critically wounded after an anti-tank missile struck a military Hummer vehicle in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza. Israeli outlets described the incident as a 'complex and difficult ambush,' with the soldiers reportedly belonging to the army's Ninth Brigade. Three military helicopters were deployed to extract the casualties, but heavy gunfire in the vicinity disrupted the operation. Additional helicopters conducted intensive fire around the area in an effort to suppress attacks and secure the evacuation. One aircraft reportedly came under fire while attempting to reach the wounded. Due to the intensity of the clashes, evacuation efforts were suspended. The incident in Jabalia unfolded alongside a broader escalation across the Gaza Strip. Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas on Monday, leaving dozens of Palestinians dead. According to health authorities in Gaza, the total number of casualties since the war began on October 7, 2023, has surpassed 54,000 dead, with more than 124,000 injured. Meanwhile, Hamas accused the Israeli military of targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and medical centers. The group warned that tens of thousands of patients, particularly women, children, and the elderly, remain without access to essential healthcare or treatment for chronic illnesses. It also pointed to what it described as 'ongoing violations of international law,' drawing attention to continued political and military backing for Israel's campaign from the United States.
