Aggressor of India must be punished: President of Foreign Affairs Commission of Congo
Kinshasa [Congo], May 28 (ANI): The all-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde had a meeting with the President of Foreign Affairs Commission, Congo, Berthhold Ulungu Ekonda Lukata on Tuesday.
Following the meeting, Shrikant Shinde, in a joint conference, expressed gratitude to Berthhold Ulungu Ekonda Lukata for 'standing firmly with India' in its fight against terrorism.
'Since two days, we have been in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Yesterday, we had very fruitful meetings with different dignitaries of the government of the DRC. The Vice Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, the President of the Senate and the EAM. The message that India wants to give has been very well received by the DRC. Thank you for hearing us out and standing firmly with India. We are here with a message of peace and zero tolerance against terrorism,' Srikant Shinde said.
Speaking with ANI, the President of the Foreign Affairs Commission, Lukata, expressed complete support for India and said the speaker of Congo's National Assembly has already decided to bring a resolution supporting India.
'We are honoured by the visit of the delegation from India. Their message is one of peace and zero tolerance towards terrorism. Being a democratic country ourselves, we promote the value of talks and friendship. The Speaker of our National Assembly has already decided to bring a resolution supporting India. The aggressor of India must be punished and terror should be finished,' Lukata said.
'We share the pain and the grief of the Indians who are going through those atrocities. We have been in the same situation for the last three decades, and we know how it feels to be attacked by some neighbours... But we need to evolve without war so that everybody can prosper in peace... We hope this ends soon and everyone grows and thinks about the future,' he added.
Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde-led delegation is in Congo to brief Congolese officials on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, Manan Kumar Mishra, Indian Union Muslim League's ET Mohammed Basheer, Biju Janata Dal's Sasmit Patra, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy are also part of the delegation. (ANI)

However, while Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders and workers had leaned heavily on public messaging—old photos, social media posts, and even the Saamana front page—the MNS has kept mum. Though Raj hinted on an April 19 podcast that he prioritises Maharashtra over personal disagreements, his party quickly clarified that unity on issues does not equate to electoral alliances. The MNS's top leadership has insisted that no formal proposal has been received. On June 5, Raj's son Amit had bluntly remarked that 'alliances are not formed through media sound bites', making it clear that the MNS was unmoved. Thursday's meeting with Fadnavis deepens that perception. Coming just days before both Raj (June 14) and Aaditya's (June 13) birthdays—an occasion Shiv Sena (UBT) workers had tried to frame as symbolic for unity—this unscheduled engagement with Fadnavis suggests Raj may be playing a different game. According to political observers in the state, the meeting cannot be a mere courtesy call as it comes at a time when the civic polls are set to be held and with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) a key target, an MNS-BJP alliance may gain more traction than a Shiv Sena (UBT)-MNS one. Responding to the meeting, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former BMC mayor Kishori Pednekar said that it was too early to comment on the matter. 'Let us wait and watch. Both brothers have called their differences minor, and there is also a shared feeling among the MNS and Sena UBT workers. So let us see how it goes.. it would be inappropriate to jump the gun now,' she said. On Thursday, the Shiv Sena, led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, had also offered Raj the opportunity to join hands with them. 'Earlier, too, during the Assembly, we had offered to ally. Now also, we are open to an alliance. We still offer Raj saheb to come with us,' Sena leader and minister Sanjay Shirsat had said.

Telangana Governor allocates portfolios to newly inducted Ministers
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 12 (ANI): In a key political development, the Telangana government has formally allocated portfolios to newly inducted ministers Vivek Venkatswamy, Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Vakiti Srihari. They took oath on June 8 at Raj Bhawan in the presence of Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. According to the statement, the notification, scheduled to be published in a special edition of the Telangana Gazette on Wednesday, was issued under Clause (3) of Article 166 of the Constitution of India, in conjunction with Sub-rule (1) of Rule 5 of the Telangana Government Business Rules. According to the order, Minister Vivek Venkatswamy has been assigned the Labour, Employment, Training and Factories portfolios, along with Mines and Geology. He is a senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament from Peddapalli in the 15th Lok Sabha. Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar has been entrusted with the Scheduled Castes Development Department, Tribal Welfare Department, Minorities Welfare Department, and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons. He is an Indian National Congress leader and MLA from the Dharmapuri Assembly constituency, reserved for the SC community in Telangana's Jagtial district. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly in the 2023 state elections. Minister Vakiti Srihari will handle the portfolios of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, and Sports and Youth Services.
