IndiGo cancels flights to multiple cities till May 10
New Delhi: Amid the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, IndiGo has announced that all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Rajkot have been cancelled until midnight on 10 May 2025.
IndiGo assured passengers that it will provide updates through official channels and is available to assist with changes to travel plans.
The update was posted on IndiGo's official X handle.
Meanwhile, Mumbai International Airport has issued a passenger advisory in light of the ongoing situation in the country.
The airport remains operational; however, due to enhanced security protocols, passengers may experience longer wait times.
The airport recommends that passengers plan their travel to the airport and arrive early to accommodate for extra time required for security checks.
Passengers are encouraged to cooperate with security and airport personnel, follow Ahmedabad Airport's social media channels for accurate and timely information, and reach out to their airline for precise details. They are advised not to share unverified information. At Mumbai International Airport, the safety and convenience of passengers is the top-most priority.
Several airlines have issued advisories urging passengers to reach the airports three hours before flights depart.
Taking to social media X, Akasa Airlines in a post wrote "Travel Update: Due to enhanced security measures at all airports across India, we request you to reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure, to ensure a seamless check-in and boarding experience. Please ensure you carry valid government-approved photo identification documents for entry to the airport. In addition to your check-in baggage, only 1 handbag weighing upto 7 kgs will be permitted. As per regulatory guidelines, all passengers will be required to undergo secondary security checks prior to boarding.

Spicejet also issued an advisory on the same grounds.
"TravelUpdate: In light of enhanced security measures across all airports, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure to ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process," the post on X read.

Washington: President Donald Trump's new travel ban targeting 12 countries- mainly from Africa and the Middle East came into effect on Monday, intensifying tensions over the administration's expanded immigration crackdown, CNN reported. According to the CNN report, the new order affects citizens of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Additionally, it imposes restrictions on individuals from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela who are outside the US and do not possess valid visas. While the proclamation does not revoke existing visas, it blocks new applications unless individuals meet specific exemption criteria. "Travelers with previously issued visas should still be able to enter the US," CNN noted, citing official guidance to American diplomatic missions. The restrictions are designed to avoid the legal chaos and mass airport confusion that followed Trump's initial travel ban during his first term. CNN reported that this time, the administration emphasized improved legal framing by focusing on visa procedures rather than outright entry bans. No restrictions on Indian travellers to Saudi Arabia; temporary visa curbs only for Hajj season
New Delhi : Reports about any bar on Indians travelling to Saudi Arabia are incorrect. The Saudi Government has not issued any notification on this matter, sources confirmed. As clarified by official sources, during the Hajj season, temporary restrictions on short-term visas are implemented to regulate the flow of pilgrims and avoid overcrowding- a standard measure that ends with the conclusion of Hajj. Meanwhile, reflecting on the success of the Hajj pilgrimage arrangements, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the smooth and safe conduct of this year's pilgrimage, acknowledging the efforts that enabled millions to perform their rituals peacefully. He acknowledged the gracious care of the Saudi leadership and its institutions, attributing the success of the Hajj season to their commitment to providing a spiritually fulfilling and secure experience for all worshippers.
