Patriots' Stefon Diggs Sends Five-Word Message Upon Arrival to OTAs Amid Latest Drama
Patriots' Stefon Diggs Sends Five-Word Message Upon Arrival to OTAs Amid Latest Drama originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
By now, everyone has seen the viral video of Patriots' receiver Stefon Diggs with a 'pink substance' on a boat over Memorial Day weekend. The drama from the footage only intensified when Diggs failed to appear at OTAs on May 28. However, the four-time Pro Bowl receiver arrived at Monday's OTA with a five-word message as he jogged onto the field.

"Nice to see you all," Diggs said.
There are many feelings fans could have about this return, as Diggs seems rather jolly arriving to the field following the drama of the past week.
But, for Patriots fans wanting Diggs to be the No. 1 option for Drake Maye in 2025, like the plan was when he signed, this is the best news possible.
Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels spoke with the media this morning, expressing his excitement about working with the players at OTAs, which includes Diggs today.

"It's a voluntary part of the year; we know that. As a coach, selfishly you love it when they're all here ... (Diggs is) here today, and we're excited to have an opportunity to work with the guys that are out here and available to us," McDaniels said. "I know he's staying up on the information and the material, and there's so many things and opportunities for us to teach all of our guys going forward ... so, I'm not concerned about Steph."

The Patriots' leading pass catcher in 2024 was tight end Hunter Henry. Tight end Austin Hooper was fourth on the team in receiving yards. Only three of the Patriots' top seven pass catchers were receivers last season.
DeMario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte led the receivers with 621 and 589 receiving yards, respectively. The Patriots had an obvious need at the position this offseason if they want to see growth from Maye in his sophomore campaign.
New England's answer was to sign Diggs to be Maye's No. 1 option. Despite Diggs' history of drama, with Vrable as the new head coach and a shift in culture underway in New England, the Patriots decided to take a chance on the All-Pro receiver.
Now, after a week full of drama, Diggs' five-word message as he arrived at OTAs this morning is a welcoming sign for fans. Only time will tell if Diggs will work out with the Patriots.

AJ Dybantsa Makes Surprise Nike Appearance in Jamaica
AJ Dybantsa Makes Surprise Nike Appearance in Jamaica originally appeared on Athlon Sports. AJ Dybantsa has been traveling the globe lately. BYU's top basketball recruit made a trip to the Monaco Grand Prix last week and got the opportunity to be in the pits with Max Verstappen's Red Bull Racing team. But he also made a surprise trip to Kingston, Jamaica to learn about his roots and giveback on behalf of Nike. Advertisement Dybantsa documented his journey in a recent YouTube video. He handed out shoes and basketballs, along with playing a few pickup games. This was all set up by the Bob Marley and Rita Marley Foundations. What made the meet and greet special for Dybantsa was his ties to the Caribbean island. His mom, Chelsea, is from Jamaica and created the no-nonsense structure for her son. For BYU, Dybantsa being able to represent brands on a global scale is an invaluable recruiting tool. One of the first things people noticed was his team gear, which might be foreign to some but will start to become more recognizable and part of his brand. This comes at the right time with the Cougars building up hype toward next season. "Dybantsa has been a celebrated prospect since before he entered high school, and has avoided many of the pitfalls of early stardom by consistently improving his game at each step in the process," 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein said. Advertisement "Still though, he's become accustomed to playing to the camera and can go through spurts when it becomes more of a show than a game. The time is soon coming when the level of competition won't again allow that. He won't be able to worry about cameras, officiating, or other distractions, and will have to make his singular emphasis."
