13 injured including children in Wythe Co. Crash

WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Thirteen people were injured in a crash Saturday morning, including five children.
Virginia State Police say the crash happened around 9 a.m. near mile marker 57.4 on Interstate 81 South.
A Ford Transit van carrying 13 passengers reportedly hit a tractor-trailer. Five kids between the ages of one and eight years old went to the hospital, according to VSP. Three Med Flight helicopters responded to carry the two most seriously injured children. The other eight passengers have non-life-threatening injuries.
39-year-old Harikanth Gaddam from Fuquay Varina, NC was driving the van and is charged with reckless driving.
