Bueckers has impressed early in her rookie campaign, showcasing the skills that made her one of the most highly anticipated prospects in years. However, her strong start was briefly interrupted after she entered concussion protocol, forcing her to miss the Wings' last four games.
On Wednesday night, Bueckers made her much-anticipated return as the 1–9 Wings faced the Phoenix Mercury — and she didn't miss a beat. She came out firing, knocking down her first six shots from the field and finishing the first half with 22 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
Her first-half performance wasn't just impactful — it was historic. According to "Polymarket Hoops," Bueckers became the fourth-fastest rookie in WNBA history to record at least 100 points, 25 rebounds, and 25 assists. The only players to achieve the milestone faster were Caitlin Clark, Candace Parker, and Cynthia Cooper.
Entering Wednesday night, through six regular season games, Bueckers was averaging an impressive 14.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. She's also been efficient, shooting 43.7% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 80.8% from the free-throw line.

Despite her strong individual performance, the Wings have struggled collectively. Their 1–9 record is currently the worst in the league. However, there's room for optimism — three of their next four opponents after Wednesday's matchup against the Mercury have sub-.500 records, giving Dallas a real opportunity to start turning things around.

New Report on Juan Soto's Treatment of Mets Teammates

New Report on Juan Soto's Treatment of Mets Teammates originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Mets won the offseason by signing generational star Juan Soto to a record 15-year, $765 million contract, but he hasn't held up his end of the deal so far. The four-time All-Star is slashing just .224/.352/.393 with eight homers and 25 RBI through 55 games. Advertisement For context, the combined slash line of every player in baseball this season is .244/.316/.394, via Baseball Reference. Soto's batting average and on-base percentage are 20 and 36 points below that, and he's signed to the richest contract ever. However, Soto still has authority in the Mets' locker room, via The Athletic's Will Sammon. New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (12) and right fielder Juan Soto (22).© Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images Soto introduced a ritual to his fellow outfielders in spring training where they wait for each other outside the dugout when jogging off the field before New York comes to bat. They then embrace, and they do this after every defensive half-inning. "Though Soto, in his eighth year, is off to his worst offensive start through a season's first 56 games (.745 OPS), he has kept up with a team-centric idea he introduced to his new outfield mates during spring training," Sammon said. Advertisement "The steady Soto-led outfielder gatherings near the dugout underscore a desire to connect with teammates. That is no small thing in the context of Soto," he continued. "Seemingly, his every public move and expression generates a dialogue about his disposition amid his slow start after signing a 15-year contract worth $765 million, the richest deal in sports." The Mets start a home series vs. the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Texas Predicted to Land 4-Star Recruit Over In-State Rival

Texas Predicted to Land 4-Star Recruit Over In-State Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas Longhorns are in position to battle for national championships largely due to their ability to land some of the most talented high school players. Advertisement They continue to make pushes for some of the top recruits in the 2026 class, including EDGE Jamarion Carlton, whom they brought in for an official visit on June 6, marking their sixth time hosting him. However, they certainly have some competition, as he previously visited with the Texas Tech Red Raiders on April 25 and has another visit scheduled with the Baylor Bears on June 20. Luckily, for the Longhorns, though, signs are pointing in the right direction, because on Thursday, On3's Josh McCuistion logged an expert prediction for Texas to land Carlton. Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Heitman-Imagn Images It would certainly be a big win, as Carlton is coming off his best season for Temple (Texas) High School, accumulating 57 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, 13 hurries, three pass deflections and one forced fumble in 10 games. Advertisement That's helped turn him into one of the most sought-after recruits this cycle, as On3 Industry Rankings place him as a four-star prospect, the No. 8 EDGE, the No. 4 player in Texas and the No. 43 player in the nation. He would certainly be a big addition for Sarkisian's already very strong 2026 class, which features a total of 13 commitments, ranking No. 6 in the SEC and No. 13 in the nation. It would also be a big win considering the Longhorns are battling two in-state programs in the Red Raiders and the Bears for one of the best recruits in Texas. Aaron Rodgers Contract Features Major Super Bowl Bonus with Steelers

Having said that ... Advertisement The Pittsburgh Steelers have a "loaded-up'' plan to make the NFL playoffs. And they have signed Aaron Rodgers as the centerpiece of that drive. And true to his word, he's agreed to a one-year deal on the cheap, as he will only be making $13.65 million in base salary this year, which includes just $10 million in fully guaranteed money. But he can make more. A lot more. And all that has to happen is for the Steelers to accomplish a lot more. ... meaning, win the Super Bowl. Yes, that incentive is in Rodgers' contract, but interestingly, even if he does that - even if he does everything, including capture a fifth NFL MVP trophy - the total value of the contract jumps to just $19.5 million. Advertisement And that would be a bargain. There are six incentives baked into the deal that will pay Rodgers an extra total of $5.85 million if he hits them all. Here's the full breakdown of the details on the Rodgers incentives in addition to his base salary ... He gets $500,000 if the Steelers make the playoffs. He gets $600,000 more if the Steelers advance to the divisional round (This could be a wild-card win in which he plays at least 50 percent of the offensive snaps or a first-round bye). He gets $750,000 more if the Steelers earn a divisional round win as long as he plays at least 50 percent of the offensive snaps in that game. He gets $1.5 million if Rodgers helps the Steelers to a Super Bowl win as long as he plays at least 50 percent of the snaps in that game. He gets $1.5 million if on top of it all, his 2025 brilliance is such that he the MVP award How realistic is it for Rodgers, at age 41, to play well enough to earn the full $5.85 million? How realistic is it for coach Mike Tomlin - who has never had a losing record but it starving for a playoff win or two - to oversee a Steelers championship team? Advertisement Rodgers does have a history of winning in the postseason; he is 5-1 in his past six opening round playoff games. But that seems like a long time ago after watching his mediocre work last year with the Jets. What the Steelers have done here overall, though - finally - is a safe and smart bet on Rodgers ... and one that remains highly affordable even if they win it all.
