Panthers ran up $500K tab at wild Stanley Cup party — and didn't have to pay cent
The Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers are on a wild, party-filled tour.
After defeating the Edmonton Oilers in six games, the Panthers attended E11EVEN in Miami, where they reportedly spent an obscene $500,000 on the night.
The club, open 24 hours a day during weekends in Miami, hosted the team until the wee hours of the morning and some of the players didn't want to leave.

Captain Aleksander Barkov had to pull Brad Marchand away from the club at 5 a.m. ET once he found out the bill was comped.
'He was going to pay before he realized it was a $500k comp,' Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk said on Barstool Sports' 'Spittin' Chiclets' podcast. 'We're treated pretty well there. They do a good job, they're classy.'
The team also had its parade on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as the celebration raged on.
Ex-NHLer, TV analyst and 'Spittin' Chiclets' co-host Paul Bissonnette added on the podcast that there was a lot of 'pent-up partying that was on display between E11EVEN, the parade, dunking in the ocean… it was an all spectacle that definitely rivals that 2019 Washington team.
'Seeing Marchand holding the cup crowd surfing at E11EVEN was out of control,' former NHLer Ryan Whitney added on the podcast.
Marchand was seen crowd-surfing with the Stanley Cup while 'Pink Pony Club' by Chappell Roan played as his teammates hoisted him in a wild frenzy.

Rising free agent Aaron Ekblad appeared to give a speech to his teammates during the wild outing, which fans were able to purchase tickets for.
'I am so grateful,' Ekbald said while at the club. 'Eleven f–king years you guys believed in me.'
Florida has most of its core starters under contract but plenty of role players will likely be available come free agency.

Former Panthers WR reveals why he infamously refused to enter a game last season
Former Carolina Panther Diontae Johnson might be a fair-weather wideout. Johnson, now a member of the Cleveland Browns, appeared on a recent episode of the Sports & Suits podcast. He was asked about his short time with the Panthers, who he still holds in high regard. "I love Carolina," Johnson stated. "Coaches, Coach [Dave] Canales there . . . just how he bringing the energy there every day, you wanna practice for him. We wasn't, obviously, winning, and I came from an environment where I'm used to winning. So I wasn't kinda used to it. Stuff kinda went left, and then it was always one thing after the next. But I still got a good relationship with Coach Canales. So, whenever he call me, I make sure I pick up." The Panthers acquired Johnson in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the start of the 2024 league year. Carolina, however, shipped the former Pro Bowler back out just eight weeks into the season—sending him to the Baltimore Ravens in late October. That's where he'd infamously refuse to enter the team's Week 13 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, a move that eventually got him suspended and released. Johnson explained the reasoning behind his decision. "I wasn't getting into no run plays, no passing plays, no nothing. It was cold," he said. "End of the third, going into the fourth—they were like, 'Tae, we need you.' I'm like, 'Nah, I don't think it's a good idea for me.' 'Cause I was thinking my legs [were ice-cold] . . . I didn't wanna go out there and put bad stuff on film." Johnson would then be picked up by the Houston Texans ahead of their wild-card round matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. But after he reportedly "made a scene" at his locker following the win, the veteran receiver was once again let go. But hey—at least he's now somewhere that isn't too cold during the later seasons. Oh, wait . . . Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.

NHL Rumor Roundup: Latest On Mitch Marner, Sam Bennett And Marco Rossi
Recent speculations suggest Mitch Marner might consider signing a short-term contract instead of a long-term deal. The 28-year-old right winger has completed a six-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is expected to test the UFA market on July 1. Advertisement With the salary cap expected to rise significantly in the coming years, James Mirtle of The Athletic suggested stars like Marner and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid could prefer short-term contracts, enabling them to cash in again under a higher salary cap while still in their playing prime. Mirtle's colleague Pierre LeBrun reported the 'rumor de jour' had Marner signing a two-year contract between $12 million and $13 million. However, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported he'd received pushback on his suggestion that soon-to-be former Maple Leaf might accept a short-term deal. As for potential suitors, Friedman recently observed recent conjecture suggesting the Vegas Golden Knights could be the team to beat for Marner's services. Mitch Marner (Nick Turchiaro-Imagn Images) Speaking of UFA forwards, Sam Bennett raised a stir last week when he told Florida partygoers that he's not leaving the Panthers. His remarks gave the impression that the 29-year-old Conn Smythe Trophy winner had a contract extension in place. Advertisement Bennett has completed a four-year contract with an average annual value of $4.425 million. His gritty two-way style played a significant role in the Panthers' back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, which would make him the top center available if he goes to market on July 1. However, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday that sources say the brakes are being pumped on the extension talk. While he thinks Bennett wouldn't have made that announcement if he didn't know how negotiations are going, there has been no agreement. As of this writing, that remains the case. Meanwhile, the ongoing contract stalemate between the Minnesota Wild and Marco Rossi has made the 23-year-old center a fixture of late in the NHL rumor mill. The Hockey News' Dylan Loucks recently cited The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun reporting the Vancouver Canucks were among the clubs interested in Rossi. On June 19, LeBrun's colleague Michael Russo and Joe Smith indicated the Canucks may have offered up their first-round pick (15th overall) in the upcoming NHL draft. Advertisement Patrick Johnston of The Province cited a source confirming the Canucks pitched their first-rounder along with a player, though it's uncertain if it was a roster player or prospect. The Canucks must do better than that to land the Minnesota center. Russo and Smith claim Wild GM Bill Guerin wants a player who can replace Rossi's production, saying he'd prefer a center but would also accept a scoring winger. They noted the Wild have been linked to JJ Peterka of the Buffalo Sabres. Guerin downplayed the speculation, telling a local network that his club isn't dying to trade Rossi. He praised the youngster, but added that the Wild are trying to sign him to a deal that fits their price range. Patriots legend reveals which QB he enjoyed hitting the most
Ninkovich loved giving the Manning brothers the business😤 Former New England Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich revealed the two quarterbacks he enjoyed sacking the most during his playing days were Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Peyton, who was one of the all-time great quarterbacks, was a longtime rival to Tom Brady and the Patriots, while Eli owns two wins over Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Ninkovich was one of the most dependable linebackers in Patriots history. He is a two-time Super Bowl champion and All-Dynasty player, who recorded 46 sacks in an 11-year career. 'I probably say Peyton and Eli. Those are two good ones," Ninkovich said on the "Dudes on Dudes" podcast. "Cause Peyton, when I was at Purdue and they were playing the Steelers, after the game he went to this bar, and the agent that was trying to recruit me took me to the same bar. And I remember looking at him like, 'That's Peyton Manning.' And then fast forward 12 years, sack fumble on him and stuff. It's awesome.' Ninkovich had his fair share of opportunities to go against both Manning brothers. He played a key role in some legendary battles throughout history. There's something to be said for sacking a pair of two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Ninkovich can proudly claim to be one of the few to ever do so.
