Two men arrested after fatal crash on A465 on Saturday
Police have arrested two men following a crash on the A465 westbound between Rhymney and Dowlais in the early hours of Saturday
A 20-year-old man, from Brynmawr, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after a quadbike was found overturned on the A465 westbound carriageway, between Rhymney and Dowlais at around 4.50am on Saturday 31 May. His family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Investigating officers believe that a second vehicle – a white BMW that was found burnt out in the Dowlais area – may have been involved in the collision.
A 40-year-old man from Merthyr is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder and driving whilst unfit through drink and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
A second man, a 37-year-old from Merthyr, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender and remains in police custody at this time.

"Officers carried out the warrant in Alway, recovering a large quantity of the suspected class A drug, cocaine, and a large amount of cash. "A man, aged 36, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, and acquire/use/possess criminal property. "The man, from Newport, remains in police custody at this time, as our inquiries continue." Boy, four, dies and two others injured after pickup trucks crash
A four-year-old boy has died and two other people have been injured after two pickup trucks crashed down a country lane. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. Kent Police said it was called to reports of a collision involving two grey Ford Rangers on New Barn Road, Dartford, at around 9.30pm on Sunday. All three victims, who were from the same vehicle, were taken to hospital. The four-year-old boy died at the hospital, while a 24-year-old man remains there in a critical condition, the force said. A one-year-old baby girl also received minor injuries from the incident. Officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Darenth and a 53-year-old man from Swanley in connection with the incident on Monday. Both remain in custody. The incident, described by a Gwent Police officer as "completely unacceptable", took place in Cwmbran on Friday, May 30. Officers responded to reports that a woman had been assaulted by another at 4pm at Caradoc Road. And following this incident, glass bottles were allegedly thrown in the street. A man then allegedly assaulted another with a golf club. Gwent Police officers are continuing inquiries into the incident, but have made three arrests. A statement from Gwent Police read: "We have arrested three people in connection with reports of violent disorder in Cwmbran on Friday, May 30. "At around 4pm, officers were called to Caradoc Road in the town after receiving reports that a woman had been assaulted by another woman. "Following this alleged assault, it was also reported that glass bottles were thrown in the street before a man assaulted another with a golf club." Inspector Lee Stachow added: "Violence of any nature is completely unacceptable. "We've now made three arrests in connection with the incident as our enquiries continue." Police say a 35-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and assault (x2). He remains in police custody. A 25-year-old man, also from Newport, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, common assault and possession of a weapon in a public place. He was released on conditional bail. A 27-year-old woman from Newport was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, assault and dangerous driving. She's also been released on bail while officers carry out further enquiries.
