Teen breaks world record for being youngest ever to run London Marathon barefoot
A SALISBURY teenager broke the world record for the youngest person ever to run the London Marathon barefoot.
Cameron Jacobs, 18, ran the London Marathon on Sunday, April 27, completely barefoot and completed the challenge in four hours and 31 minutes.
Cameron has autism, Tourette's Syndrome and ADHD, so he ran the marathon with his mum, Polly Jacobs, 48, as a support runner.
They ran the event for the National Orchestra for All, which has really helped Cameron over the last seven years.
To break the Guinness World Record, Cameron had to finish the marathon barefoot within five hours, and he smashed it.
Mum, Polly, said: "We started in the very last wave with people expected to finish nearer the seven-hour mark, so we knew we would have to run through the crowd.
"We are just genuinely so overwhelmed by all the support. We have had so many messages and comments from people saying they have been inspired by Cameron."

Cameron was set a target by the charity to raise £2,000, but as of Friday, May 9, he has raised nearly £8,000.

"The day after, they sent him some hand-iced biscuits with his name and finish time on, which he really appreciated. Also, the artistic director of National Orchestra for All came down to watch and support us."
The duo have recovered well and are already back into running, but Cameron has decided to put his trainers back on for now.
Cameron had trained barefoot around Salisbury on some rough terrain, so running through the streets of London felt smooth for him.
Polly said: "Towards the start of the race, he kept saying it was the happiest day of his life and that the roads were so smooth.
"I am so proud of him, and I know he is really proud of himself. National Orchestra for All have really helped us as a family, and I just hope the work they do gives families like us some hope for the future."

Broncos' Dre Greenlaw ranked among NFL's best linebackers
Broncos' Dre Greenlaw ranked among NFL's best linebackers Pro Football Focus writer Mason Cameron recently released his list of the top 32 linebackers ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Although a free agent signing from the San Francisco 49ers, Cameron selected Denver Broncos newcomer Dre Greenlaw as one of the NFL's top linebackers. Cameron chose Greenlaw as the fifth-best linebacker, primarily based on his play before his Achilles injury in the Super Bowl in February 2024. While he played two games in 2024, his 247 tackles combined in 2022 and 2023 will help build an impressive resume while showing his reputation as a linebacker. Cameron quickly noted that Greenlaw, when healthy, is a top-tier linebacker; he did draw on the concern that there are questions about his health. 'Although he played just 34 snaps in 2024, Greenlaw was on his way to the upper echelon of linebacker play before his injury," Cameron wrote for PFF. "His profile as one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL was on full display from 2022 to 2023, when he posted a combined 88.9 PFF coverage grade. While there are questions regarding the level he can return to, Greenlaw's ceiling is high and worthy of this lofty placement.' Denver hopes Greenlaw can help further transform the Broncos' defense, which was among the NFL's best last fall. With Pat Surtain in the secondary, Greenlaw's presence in the middle can help Denver get over the hump in 2025, health permitting. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Australian woman completes 7,079 pull-ups in 24 hours
May 30 (UPI) -- An Australian fitness enthusiast completed 7,079 pull-ups in 24 hours -- nearly doubling the previous Guinness World Record. Olivia Vinson, 34, told Guinness World Records she was looking for a challenge when her husband and coach suggested she attempt the record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours (female). "I was looking for a bigger challenge and my husband and coach actually suggested 24 hours of pull ups, which I initially, quite literally, laughed at because I thought there was no way," Vinson recalled. "I looked up what the current record was, which was 4,081, and again I thought, 'There's no way.'" Vinson said it was only after she crunched the numbers on the previous record, which was set by Polish woman Paula Gorlo in 2021, that she started to reconsider. "After a little while, I did some maths on it and I thought maybe I could," she said. Vinson trained for three months before her first attempt, which ended prematurely. "I got about 12 hours in it and I pulled a bicep tendon in my left arm, which meant at that point I couldn't even do a single pull-up," Vinson said. The injury forced her to take two months off before resuming training, and she finally felt ready for a second attempt. Vinson said her second attempt had its own challenges. "Nineteen hours in, I started to feel quite nauseous and I think it was just from being over-tired, and it was something I had to just manage as best as possible," she said. "My concern was whether my body would hold out." The athlete managed to complete the attempt with 7,079 pull-ups -- an average of five pull-ups every minute. "I've achieved a number that I genuinely didn't think was possible for me when I first came into this," Vinson said. "I think there is something deeply human about pushing boundaries and I think world records create a very tangible marker for human potential."

Harley Cameron Gets Busted Open On AEW Dynamite
Harley Cameron and Anna Jay pulled out all the stops in their no disqualification match on AEW Dynamite this week. Unfortunately, it left them both winless and bloodied. Cameron's fate was of the utmost concern amongst viewers as she appeared visibly bloody after Megan Bayne dropped her face-first onto the steel steps at ringside. Upon reaching her feet and turning back to the camera, Cameron revealed that her nose and mouth had been bloodied, with one of them likely busting open from the impact. Still, Cameron refused to be checked out by the nearby doctor and continued to fight. From there, Penelope Ford knocked Cameron off the apron, then crashed face-first into a steel chair, courtesy of a Gory Bomb from Anna Jay. When Jay tried to cover Ford, Bayne broke them up and dropped Jay onto a chair with a Fate's Descent. Following this collision, Jay immediately clutched her face, which later emerged with a bruised and slightly bloody nose as well. Advertisement Ultimately, Ford and 'The Megasus' picked up the No DQ win after laying out Cameron with a Doomsday Device. Afterward, officials helped Cameron and Jay to the back. As of now, there is no word on the extent of Jay and Cameron's potential injuries. Given the series of events, though, broken noses are possible.
