I've styled Adele and Jennifer Lawrence. These are my fashion rules

Stylist Jamie Mizrahi is used to dressing A-listers for high-profile appearances that come to define their singular style. The looks she puts together often have a transformative effect – see Mikey Madison blooming in Miu Miu and Dior gowns on her award-winning Anora press run, or Adele channelling Old Hollywood glamour in Schiaparelli and Armani throughout her Vegas residency. Then there's Jennifer Lawrence, who aces everything from recent Dior-clad Cannes appearances to off-duty looks that somehow make The Row feel even more covetable. Mizrahi is the architect behind all these acts of sartorial self-realisation, so effective that she's rumoured to have been consulted by the Duchess of Sussex when she shifted stylistic gear from royal refinement to Montecito minimalism. Mizrahi categorically does not comment on Meghan, and is admirably discreet about her star-studded client list. She does, however, share insights about the balance she aims to strike with each one of them. 'It's about infusing personal style with people's own wardrobe, while obviously implementing new pieces and accessories,' she says. 'I like to integrate a client's street style into their red carpet looks to make sure it's cohesive and there's a story being told of who you are off the red carpet as well as on it.' As for those of us who are not red carpet regulars, some of Mizrahi's rules still very much apply, and she has a few key tips for those looking to put together outfits that feel considered. 'I always think it's good to put together a mood board of other people's style,' she says. 'Look at people you admire then figure out ways you can integrate their style into your own wardrobe. If you really look at what you have you'll probably find you don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe to achieve this.' She gathers inspiration in this way with all of her clients and, she adds, herself. The Mizrahi mood board changes seasonally but consistently features a 'ton' of images of Jackie Kennedy, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and other understated style icons. 'I really do truly believe in classic, solid pieces and being able to interchange them,' she says. 'I want to invest in pieces that are timeless and kind of non-descript – no logos, no print, so you can wear them repeatedly.' On the list of key items? A 'perfect' black blazer, a black slip dress, a white T-shirt, a black T-shirt, a pair of jeans, a pair of black trousers, a trench coat, and a shirt. The value of each piece is its versatility, she explains: 'You could wear the shirt around your waist, around your shoulders, over a slip dress or as more of a 'jacket' over one of your T-shirts.' As for where to find them, Mizrahi has a fondness for affordable pieces as well as designer gowns, citing Uniqlo, Gap and Cos as favourites, as well as online sources like Depop and Etsy. Another brand with which she has a longstanding affinity is Californian footwear label Tom's, which she has known since it opened its first store in Venice, LA. She's designed a limited-edition capsule for the brand, reimagining its 'easiest most wearable' slip-on 'Alpargata' style in water- and stain-repellent suede. She says the experience was nostalgic, but focused on one thing above all: comfort. 'It's about wearing things that can get you right and feeling at ease,' she says. 'And I think that right now, especially given the state of the world and how fast everyone's moving, we just want ease and comfort, while also being chic.' They might not fly on the Cannes red carpet, but this is clearly a stylist with impressive range.

Nurse reveals the ‘worst baby name ever' and confesses ‘it keeps me up at night'

NO KIDDING Nurse reveals the 'worst baby name ever' and confesses 'it keeps me up at night' FINDING the perfect name for your little one isn't always easy. You could go the classic and traditional route, or push the boat out and give them a much more unique moniker. But there's one name more likely to receive some of that harsh judgement. This comes after one Reddit user revealed the name nurses from their local delivery centre deemed it the 'worst name'. Apparently, one baby was unlucky enough to be called Richie Rich Putin. The moniker is a combination of actor Macaulay Culkin's 1990s film Richie Rich and the last name of Russian president, Vladimir Putin. 'I used to think the name laws are more strict [in Germany] than in other countries,' the Reddit user wrote. 'The city will decide whether the name you chose is an actual name or the child will be bullied for it.' But somehow, little Richie Rich Putin wasn't picked up on by authorities. 'Just felt like I had to share that while lying awake thinking about my soon-to-be-born child's name,' they added. But after sharing the unusual name on the social media site people couldn't believe any parent would really use the name on their bundle of joy. Peppa Pig's Mummy Pig gives birth to third baby as GMB reveals first pic and piglet's sweet name 'Do parents really hate their child that much? Or do they think it's funny and don't think it through for the kid's future?" one person commented. "That poor child. Can you imagine all oligarch bootlicking that must go on in its home," a second said. Meanwhile, someone else said: "Wow, and they gave my mom sh*t back then because my name apparently wasn't masculine enough. "They tried to get her to give me a more traditional German middle name. She stood her ground long enough that they gave up." But the name isn't the only unusual one that cause a stir online recently, as one mum decided to name her son after a mode of transport. Taking to Reddit, the mum-to-be's concerned cousin revealed that she was desperate to talk her out of the unusual name. She said: "I just got invited to the shower for my cousin's baby, and she's naming the baby... "Trucklyn. "I think I have to go to the baby shower to try and get them to change it, or at least figure out why." The cousin added that she had tried to figure out if the name was a joke, but had so far been unsuccessful. Reddit users flooded the comments section with their thoughts, with many critical of the unique moniker. One person said: "It is your duty to try to convince them to change the name. A second person said: "Poor kid wont stand a chance."

All four episodes of 'excellent' true crime drama available to stream on BBC

A new German true crime drama, The Black Forest Murders, has arrived on BBC iPlayer. The synopsis for the four-episode series reads: 'The clock is ticking… When a woman is bludgeoned to death, detectives face mounting pressure to crack the case and catch a killer.' And is described as an 'intense crime drama inspired by real-life cases.' The show is based on the non-fiction Walter Roth book which follows a 2016 police investigation into the mysterious murders of two young women in the south of Germany. In the show we see Senior Detective Barbara Kramer (Nina Kunzendorf) of the Lauburg police and her team, including Thomas Riedle (Tilman Strauß), embark on an investigation to apprehend the perpetrator. But as they hit dead-end after dead-end and little success through talking to witnesses and gathering evidence, the police face 'mounting pressure' to provide answers. Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, called the show an 'authentic and compelling crime series focussing on the work of a meticulous investigative team.' She added: 'As well as being a gripping murder mystery, the series offers a detailed look at the challenges of solving complex crimes, and the psychological toll on those involved in such high-stakes investigations.' 'I watched the entire series in one sitting and thought it was excellent. The meticulous investigation was amazing. Nina Kunzendorf was at her best as a fair and likeable boss in a strong team,'Sylvia Strobl praised on Google reviews. 'I found this four-part series extremely good. It was exciting, with good dialogue… and a very good portrayal of a real series of murders. The actors did a very good job, especially Ms. Kramer, who acted convincingly. It was a glimpse behind the scenes of a special investigation unit,' Karen Sabine Feuerhahm added. 'A wonderfully authentic and unpretentious narrative, a crime story like you'd only wish for, not cluttered with ridiculous subplots and overly contrived action. A fantastic team around Nina Kunzendorfer, who always remains believable,' Rike Straub echoed. The Guardian has a slightly cooler, but still praiseworthy, take, writing: ' Its attention to every single moving part means that the drama itself moves very slowly, and it is not so much a thriller as a satisfying puzzle, steadily coming together. Not a bad drama, then, but not a revolutionary one, either.' More Trending Elsewhere, The Sydney Morning Herald praised the drama as 'outstanding.' 'There are no grand deductive leaps, no cat-and-mouse interviews with a prime suspect. This is a gripping procedural founded on detail and diligence,' the publication added. Both also compared the show to Netflix's Swedish drama The Breakthrough, which also follows the story of a 'shocking double homicide which goes unsolved for 16 years.'
