MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee man accused of intentionally dropping a 1-year-old child from a second-story balcony pleaded not guilty on Monday, March 24 to the charges against him.
31-year-old Jaimann Eiland entered the pleas after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing – and the judge bound him over for trial.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the area of 41st Street and Courtland Avenue on Thursday, March 13.
Per the criminal complaint, officers responded to Froedtert Hospital to investigate the child abuse complaint and met with a woman who stated that she and her 1-year-old daughter were assaulted by her mother's husband, identified as Eiland.
The child's mother said she heard her baby crying and asked Eiland what happened, which turned into an argument between the two. It escalated to a point where Eiland allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her, saying, "You gone die today."
According to the criminal complaint, the woman tried to tell Eiland to calm down and he picked up the 1-year-old and carried her to the second-story porch outside. He then allegedly lifted her in the air by her neck, dangling her as the mother tried to take the child back.

Prosecutors said Eiland then "intentionally threw" the 1-year-old off the balcony onto the ground below, then began hitting and kicking the woman again. She told police this went on for a minute. Officers asked the woman to demonstrate how Eiland threw the 1-year-old, and she held a container of bleach wipe with both hands close to her chest and quickly extended her arms straight out as she released the wipes.
Eiland's mother, who was in the residence at the time, went downstairs to get the child, and allegedly told the woman she had instigated the whole incident. Eiland left the home on foot and the woman called 911. A large knife was located on the floor by officers and droplets of blood were located on the balcony and in the bathroom.

According to the complaint, the 1-year-old was taken to Children's Wisconsin. While she had physical injuries and bruises, she did not sustain any cranial or skeletal fractures.
Prosecutors said the woman had a sprained finger, and she received three stitches on her forehead. She also had swelling to the top of her left hand and pain in her right leg. Her shirt was covered in blood.

Eiland walked to MPD - District 7, where an in-custody interview was conducted. Officers noticed swollen knuckles with small cuts on Eiland's hands. He told police the fight was mutual. He told officers they were "doing a 'tug of war' over" the 1-year-old when she fell off the balcony. He allegedly told police when the child fell, he knew the fight had gone too far. He also stated that he doesn't think he went overboard during this incident.

"The individual has made some statements about getting fired and things of that nature," Ivey said. Ivey said the incident was isolated and not an act of terrorism. Hillsborough County deputies make arrests in shooting that injured teen

Detectives said they found evidence connected to the shooting inside a bedroom belonging to a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. A 38-year-old man was also arrested for driving with a suspended license when deputies said they found him driving the vehicle linked to the suspected shooter. PROGRESS VILLAGE, Fla. - Two teenage felons have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. The backstory According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, deputies went to the area of South 81st Street and Fir Drive shortly before 12:40 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Menomonee Falls FedEx gunfire, man charged with attempted homicide
The Brief Prosecutors said a man shot at a manager at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility. The 19-year-old is now charged with attempted homicide and misdemeanor battery. Court filings said the gunfire stemmed from an argument and fight. MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. - A man is accused of attempted homicide after prosecutors say he shot at a manager during a fight at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility on Monday. In Court Prosecutors charged 19-year-old DeAnthony Leflore with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and misdemeanor battery. His bond was set at $200,000 on Friday. A criminal complaint states callers reported Leflore had fired a gun, but no one was shot. When police got there, court filings said a security worker informed them that Leflore was no longer in the facility's gated area. It was unclear where Leflore went, and officers searched for but did not find him. What they're saying Prosecutors said a manager told investigators that Leflore arrived at the facility around 2:30 a.m. – an hour before his shift – and was unable to scan his badge and get inside. He was told to go home because he wasn't allowed to start early. Leflore later made a comment that the manager took "to mean (Leflore) was going to shoot her," per the complaint, before he left. The manager then told security not to let him in "because of his escalating behavior." Court filings said Leflore then asked that manager if he was fired or not before saying, "I'm finna force it," and repeatedly punching the manager in the face. The manager said she bit Leflore's hand and pulled his hair to try to get him off of her, and another manager came over to separate them. Leflore then ran toward a fence that separates the main facility from the parking lot, per the complaint. He grabbed a gun from a backpack and pointed it at the manager. The victim said she saw a laser sight affixed to the gun, and she saw the point of the laser on her chest before Leflore said: "(Expletive) I'll pop you." The victim said she then heard gunshots as she ran, but she was not hit. The complaint states police found a bullet casing and some of Leflore's hair, which was ripped out during the struggle, at the scene. A security worker said he saw the fight and saw Leflore holding a gun with a laser sight that "appeared" to be pointed at the victim. He heard one gunshot and called 911. Additional witnesses also said they saw Leflore with a gun. Surveillance video showed the fight, according to court filings, during which Leflore went to the fence line and picked up what appeared to be a gun before pointing it at the victim. One gunshot was heard as everyone ran from the area. Additional video showed Leflore walking away with a gun "clearly" tucked in the front of his waistband.
