Blazers vs. Bulls Preview
Troy Wayrynen-Imagn Images
After dismissing the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday 127-113, Portland declawed the Toronto Raptors last night 112-103. A third quarter surge that saw the Blazers outscore the Raptors 36-26 gave Portland the edge, and ultimately the victory going into the final period. Deni Avdija was blistering hot once again, racking up 26 points, 15 rebounds, and 6 assists. But it was Shaedon Sharpe who gained notoriety by scoring a career high 36 points. He added 7 rebounds and 5 assists to the bag which aided the Blazers in getting its second consecutive win.

What to Expect from the Blazers
Expect Portland to come out firing against Chicago as they try to land another unlikely road win. Deni Avdija has shown flashed of the star player Portland has sorely lacked most of the season, and if he can consistently put up the numbers that he has over the last ten-plus outings, the Blazers look far more menacing. Toumani Camara didn't quite look himself against the Raptors with only 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. If he's able to return to action after leaving yesterday's game with an ankle injury, plan for Tou to come back and reassert himself in Chicago. Defense will be key, especially under the hoop, if Portland wants a third-straight W.
What to Expect from the Bulls
Oddly enough, the Bulls are also coming off a victory at the expense of the Toronto Raptors. Chicago won 137-118 without much fuss from Toronto. The Bulls found a way to get to the charity stripe more often than their opponent, converting 23 out of 27 attempts. In addition, they outrebounded the Raptors 49-35 and managed to score 70 points in the paint against Toronto's measly 44.

Expect the Chicago to assert themselves down low against Portland tonight. Nikola Vucevic will try to manhandle the Blazers' bigs, scoring at will and gobbling up rebounds. If the Bulls can dominate the paint tonight as they did against Toronto, they will give themselves a fighting chance to secure the victory at home.
Reader Questions
Before most games, we ask you all to make our previews better by asking us questions! Keep your eyes peeled for posts just like this to add your questions and (possibly) have them answered right here in these very previews!
From: WinningHoop:
...let's say a miracle happens and we finish in the Play-In, how do you see our chances against our potential opponents there (Kings, Suns, Mavs, Memphis, Clippers) ?
Let's not downplay the word you used, 'Miracle,' because that is exactly what it would take for Portland to enter the Play-In. They'd have to win, win, and win some more, while those teams in front would have to lose, lose, and keep losing. But let's say it happens. What then?
It would be fun, that is for sure! The Play-In would be the first big test of Portland's mettle when it really matters. This young squad has never felt pressure like that. In my opinion, the Blazers might be able to steal one against the Mavericks or Clippers, but I don't like the idea of Portland playing off against the Grizzlies, Suns, or Kings.
From: Nurkitch
Do you think [Chicago will] rest players hoping it helps catapult [the Blazers] into the playoffs so they can take the pick we owe them?
This is an interesting question. Portland does owe Chicago a first round draft pick that was dealt to them years ago. One stipulation placed on that pick is that if it falls anywhere in the lottery, the Blazers keep it and Chicago hopes for better luck next year. So far, it hasn't communicated. Players don't tank, management does. This Bulls roster will come out firing, hoping to secure a win. These guys aren't thinking about draft picks, they are thinking about how to earn another win.
Thank you all for the questions, and for making our previews better!

LeBron James Reacts to Kevin Love's Post About Knicks Firing Tom Thibodeau
LeBron James Reacts to Kevin Love's Post About Knicks Firing Tom Thibodeau originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau as head coach on Tuesday. It was a stunning move since the Knicks made the conference finals this year for the first time since 2000. Advertisement Thibodeau joined the Knicks in 2020. He went 226-174 in the regular season and 24-23 in the playoffs. New York lost to the Indiana Pacers in this year's conference finals in six games. According to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, Knicks owner James Dolan supported president Leon Rose's decision to fire Thibodeau. Miami Heat veteran Kevin Love reacted to the Knicks' firing of Thibodeau by posting a video of Vince McMahon saying, "You're fired!" on his Instagram account. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who won the 2016 championship with Love on the Cleveland Cavaliers, reacted to Love's post with seven laughing emojis. Love has been posting funny videos on Instagram all year. Advertisement It all began after All-Star forward Jimmy Butler requested a trade from the Heat earlier in the season. James almost signed with the Knicks in the summer of 2010. He met with the franchise during free agency before ultimately joining the Heat to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The leading scorer in NBA history, James had three postseason battles against Thibodeau when Thibs coached the Chicago Bulls from 2010 to 2015. James' Heat beat the Bulls in the 2011 conference finals and the 2013 conference semifinals. Chicago Bulls rumors point to trade involving multi-time All-Star
It may be a new offseason for the Chicago Bulls, but it's largely the same story as before. For the third consecutive season, the Bulls' front office is tasked with improving a roster that fell short of reaching the playoffs in the previous year. There are no quick fixes. Unlike the Dallas Mavericks, the Bulls don't have the first pick, they're not in line to land a potential superstar in the 2025 NBA Draft, where Chicago holds the 12th overall selection. Advertisement However, according to Sam Amico of the Bulls will be trying to trade two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic this offseason. Of course, for basketball fans who have paid close attention, this is nothing new. Vooch has been on the trade block for several years, but Chicago hasn't been able to find a trade partner presenting a respectable offer for their talented starting center. Vucevic is coming off his seventh consecutive season of averaging a double-double, meaning he's still playing at a high level, even at age 34. However, he's also headed into season two of a three-year, $60 million contract and is set to have a cap hit of $20 million in 2025. Chicago is likely seeking at least a first-round pick in exchange for the Swiss native. Whether any team is willing to pay the price remains to be seen. Warriors' Trade Target Gets Update After Recent Bulls Report
Warriors' Trade Target Gets Update After Recent Bulls Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With the NBA offseason right around the corner with the NBA Finals beginning on Thursday, teams are preparing to make some crucial moves to upgrade their roster ahead of next season. Advertisement Among them are the Golden State Warriors, who are looking to upgrade their roster around their aging trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green as they try to chase another championship next season. Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler (10) and guard Steph Curry (30).© David Gonzales-Imagn Images Of course, the Warriors have been linked to many players heading into the offseason including Giannis Antetokounmpo and a pair of Chicago Bulls stars in Nikola Vucevic and Coby White. On Tuesday, the Warriors received a major update regarding one of the Bulls' stars. 'This is outside speculative, but two different East personnel figures believe that the Bulls are unlikely to retain both Josh Giddey and Coby White. If Giddey gets locked in, White could be moved. I'm skeptical of that idea because that sounds like a radical concept for the Bulls and that doesn't sound like them. Saving money sounds like them, but not like this,' Hardwood Paroxysm reported. This is a massive update for both the Bulls and the Warriors as it appears that Chicago is looking to make some moves this offseason, which could see them move on from either Giddey or White. Advertisement Of course, there have already been reports of the Bulls looking to trade Vucevic this summer, whom has been linked to the Warriors, and now another trade target for Golden State may also be on the move. Nell Redmond-Imagn Images In a perfect world for the Warriors, they could look to make a move with the Bulls to land both Vucevic and White from them this summer, though it would drain them of their trade assets. Despite this, adding just one of Chicago's trade pieces could go a long way, especially in White who would also become a key part of Golden State's future due to his age. While that may be the case, the Bulls have held off on making trades in the past, look at how long it took them to move both DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, but that may change this summer as they continue their rebuild.
