Donald Trump Jr said Dr Jill Biden covered up Joe Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis.

accused Jill Biden of covering up former president Joe Biden's prostate cancer and questioned how Dr Jill Biden missed stage five metastatic cancer.
"What I want to know is how did Dr Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another cover-up?" Donald Trump Jr posted in a major allegation after it was confirmed that Joe Biden is fighting with an aggressive cancer which spread to the bone.
Several doctors shared surprise that it was not detected before as Biden just left the presidency and a recent diagnosis found just a "small nodule" on his prostate.
Was there a cover-up? Here's what we know so far
After Donald Trump Jr's big charge on X, social media users reminded him that Jill Biden is not a medical doctor, but a doctorate degree holder and was not possibly involved in Biden's medical diagnosis.
'It is inconceivable that this was not being followed before he left the Presidency,' Dr Howard Formman said in a post on X. 'Gleason grade 9 would have had an elevated PSA level for some time before this diagnosis. And he must have had a PSA test numerous times before.

This is odd,' he added. 'I wish him well and hope he has an opportunity for maximizing his quality of life.'
Dr Steven Quay said Biden's type of cancer is the easiest to diagnose when it first starts and progresses. 'It is highly likely he was carrying a diagnosis of prostate cancer throughout his White House tenure and the American people were uninformed," he said.
"Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support," Joe Biden said in his first comment after the diagnosis, along with photo with Jill Biden and their cat.

Karnataka reports 1.2k Covid cases since Jan

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 1,220 Covid-19 cases since Jan 1, with 559 active cases, 652 recoveries, and 9 deaths recorded. The rise comes amid a fresh nationwide uptick in infections, with the current rate of positivity in the state at 40.7% – out of 650 tests conducted Monday, 265 found positive. However, health experts maintain that the current situation does not warrant panic, though precautions remain necessary. Out of 559 active cases, 552 people are under home isolation. According to Dr Sunil Kumar, epidemiologist and secretary of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, the recent cases in Karnataka and other parts of the country are largely due to sublineages of the Omicron variant—specifically JN.1, LF.7, and NF.1.8.1. "These are not new variants, but descendants of Omicron. They are more transmissible, which explains the steady rise in the numbers," he said. Despite the increase in cases, the severity remains low. Dr Kumar noted, "Over 95% of patients are recovering at home, with only 3-4% requiring hospitalisation. Very few of those hospitalised need oxygen support. Another factor contributing to the rise is the expansion of testing. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Good News: You May Be Richer Than You Think Undo The state resumed screening for ILI (influenza-like illness) and Sari (severe acute respiratory infection), which naturally results in more detected cases. Covid moved into an endemic phase. Unlike earlier pandemic waves, such periodic surges are expected once or twice a year." Dr Vinay Hosadurga, a general physician at Vasavi Hospitals, pointed out a shift in symptoms with the current variant. "Earlier, many patients reported loss of smell and taste. That's no longer common. What we are seeing now in some cases is diarrhoea," he said. He added, "The monsoon season could further complicate diagnosis due to a simultaneous rise in flu cases. Since both flu and Covid-19 present similar symptoms such as fever and fatigue, patients are advised to avoid self-medication and consult a doctor. There is no cause for alarm, as most cases are mild. But it's still important to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour and seek medical advice if symptoms arise."

US-China talks in London: Rare earths, export curbs on table

Talks between the US and China kicked off in London on Monday, with the US signaling a willingness to remove restrictions on exports in exchange for assurances that China is easing limits on rare earth shipments. The Trump administration expects that "after the handshake" in London, any export controls from the US will be eased and rare earths will be released by China, Kevin Hassett , head of the at the White House's National Economic Council, told CNBC. It was the clearest signal yet that the US is willing to offer such a concession. The first round of negotiations since the teams met a month ago is aimed at restoring confidence that both are living up to commitments made in Geneva. During those discussions, Washington and Beijing agreed to lower crippling tariffs for 90 days to allow time to hammer out ways to address a trade imbalance that the Trump administration blames on an unfair playing field. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Windows Users Don't Forget To Do This Before Monday Read More Undo Aim is to Dodge Clash The confusion after the Geneva meeting about China's rare earth export-permitting process, combined with US limits on tech shipments and Washington's recent crackdown on Chinese student visas, underscore the complexity of deal-making between China and the US. Live Events "They left too many things open to interpretation," said Josh Lipsky , chair of international economics at the Atlantic Council. The US and China "just want to get back to where they were in Switzerland with a few more agreements down on paper to understand what is gonna be licensed, what gets permitted, what doesn't," he added. A phone call last week between President Donald Trump and his counterpart Xi Jinping appeared to give fresh momentum to reviving talks and reaching a deal. On Monday at London's Lancaster HouseUS Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will meet a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier He Lifeng. The addition of Lutnick, who's in charge of curbs on the sale of advanced technology, signals Trump may be willing to consider reversing some of the restrictions that threaten to hobble China's long-term growth ambitions, ranging from tech supplies to jet engine parts.
