Alert issued after three girls - aged 5, 8 and 9 - go missing while visiting their dad

An Endangered Missing Person Alert has been issued in Washington state after three young girls went missing while on visitation with their father.
Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, were last seen Friday around 5 p.m. in Wenatchee, a city 140 miles east of Seattle.
Their father, identified by authorities as Travis Decker, 32, had custody of the girls for a planned visitation, but has not returned them and has been unreachable by family, Fox 13 reported.
While the visitation was part of a parenting plan, Decker went outside the parameters of it, 'which is not normal and cause for alarm,' the Wenatchee Police Department said.
According to police, Decker is homeless and has been living out of his car or at various hotels, motels or campgrounds in the area.
Decker was described as a 32-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to weigh 190 pounds and be 5 feet 8 inches tall.
He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts, police said.
Authorities also said he drives a white GMC Sierra pickup truck with the license plate D20165C.
Meanwhile, the girls are between 4 feet 2 inches and 4 feet 8 inches tall. The eldest, Paityn, has brown hair, while the younger two sisters, Evelyn and Olivia, are blonde.
All three have brown eyes, authorities said.
The current investigation has not met AMBER Alert criteria, police said while issuing the emergency missing persons alert, or EMPA.
Anyone who sees the father or the girls are asked to call 911 or RiverCom at 509-663-9911.

Grief-stricken mother of 3 girls allegedly killed by homeless father says police should have acted more quickly: ‘knew something was going on'

The grief-stricken mother of the three Washington girls who were allegedly killed by their homeless father said their deaths could have been prevented if police had listened to her pleas to issue an Amber Alert when they first went missing. Whitney Decker said she knew her daughters — Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5 — were in 'substantial danger' when their father, Travis Decker, did not return home within a court-ordered deadline following his visitation on Friday night, The Seattle Times reported. The Decker girls were found murdered after they didn't return home from a visit with their father. Facebook/Katie Vogel 'As soon as he didn't bring those girls back at 8 o'clock, she knew something was going on,' said Whitney's attorney, Arianna Cozart. 'There should be enough concern for the police to say, 'These children are missing, they are in substantial danger, even though he didn't issue an overt threat,'' Cozart added. Travis Decker is a homeless veteran whose mental health had been deteriorating. Whitney Decker The lawyer alleges that Wenatchee police had wanted to issue the Amber Alert, but the local officers were told by the State Patrol that the case didn't meet the requirements. Instead, the State Patrol put out an Endangered Missing Persons Advisory for the three girls, which unlike an Amber Alert, does not send out cellphone alerts to the public.

Ring camera video of dad wanted for murder of 3 young daughters released amid Amber Alert questions

Officials looking for a Washington state father wanted for the murders of his three young daughters have released recent Ring camera footage and photos of him as they seek help from the public in finding him. The video and images are from the days leading up to 32-year-old Travis Decker's visitation with his daughters on Friday, which is when they went missing. "These are the most recent photos and videos we have that reveal his last known appearance," the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Travis Decker, wanted in the murders of his three young daughters, is seen in days leading up to their disappearance. Chelan County Sheriff's Office The girls' mother had reported to Wenatchee police on Friday that Decker did not return them on time following the planned visit, which she told them was out of the ordinary. She had tried to call him multiple times, but the calls went straight to voicemail, she said. On Monday, the bodies of the three girls, ages 9, 8 and 5, were found at a campground in central Washington. Decker's unoccupied pickup truck was also found. Decker, a former Army soldier, is well-versed in wilderness survival and able to spend days at a time off the grid with little equipment, police said. When the girls were reporting missing Friday, Washington State Patrol was contacted to request an Amber Alert, but officials said the information provided did not meet the required criteria. "In this case, it was a parent with custodial privileges, and the children had not been returned home on time. But that's a rather common occurrence and not something where you just automatically assume abduction," Washington State Patrol spokesperson Chris Loftis said, adding there was no indication Decker would harm the girls. The girls' mother had told police Decker was experiencing some mental health issues when she reported her daughters missing, according to a court document. It wasn't clear if that was conveyed with the request for an Amber Alert. An endangered and missing person alert was activated Saturday, which generates a flyer that is distributed statewide, Wenatchee Police Captain Brian Chance explained at a news conference Tuesday. Decker is wanted for three counts of murder and kidnapping, according to police in Wenatchee. contributed to this report.

3 missing sisters found dead in Washington, police searching for father

Three sisters in Washington state were found dead after being reported missing by their mother, and authorities are searching for the young girls' father, who is wanted for murder, police said. Paityn Decker, 9; Evelyn Decker, 8; and Olivia Decker, 5, were reported missing by their mother on Friday night, May 30, after leaving their home for a planned visitation for their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, Wenatchee police said. The girls did not return home, and no one could contact Travis Decker, who is homeless and was living out of a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup, according to the department. Police said officers searched area motels to no avail, and vehicle information indicated that Decker's vehicle had traveled west on Highway 2 from Wenatchee on May 30. "The visitation was part of a parenting plan, but he has since gone outside the parameters of it which is not normal and cause for the alarm," the department initially said Saturday, May 31 about Travis Decker. An Endangered Missing Person Alert (EMPA) was issued on Saturday for the girls, according to police. The search for the three girls continued until Monday, June 2, when officers found Travis Decker's vehicle unoccupied around 3:45 p.m. near the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County. Officers searched the area immediately surrounding the vehicle and found the bodies of the three missing girls, police said, adding that their father was nowhere to be found. Authorities were still searching for Travis Decker, who is wanted for three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping, police said June 3. He also faces three counts of first-degree custodial interference, according to the department. It is unknown if Travis Decker, who is a former military member with extensive training, is armed, but he "may pose a significant risk, if approached," according to the department. Anyone who believes they may have seen him on Friday, May 30, and/or knows his current whereabouts should call 911 immediately, police said. "Due to safety concerns do not attempt to contact or approach Decker," the department said.
