Who won Survivor 48? Summing up how the latest season ended
The 48th season of Survivor is in the books, and we have a new Sole Survivor to celebrate.
Kyle Fraser emerged victorious during the Final Tribal Council, besting fellow finalists Eva Erickson and Joe Hunter to win the million dollars and the bragging rights of winning a season of Survivor.
Kamilla Karthigesu also made the Survivor 48 final four but was eliminated during the fire-making competition.
It's as hard a game to play as any on Earth, but Kyle won with his resiliency, strategy and heart during his time in Fiji. He will join Survivor 47 winner Rachel LaMont in the pantheon of recent game winers.
The final four in the game were indeed Kyle, Joe, Kamilla and Eva, with the latter two competing in the fire-making competition and Eva winning that battle. Mitch Guerra finished in fifth place.
In the Final Tribal Council, Kyle was able to make his case the best to the jurors of why he should win the competition. The final tally went his way, and he was crowned Survivor 48 victor.
We'll see if this latest winner, any of these other finalists or other Survivor 48 castaways make it back to the island for Survivor 50 once the cast gets announced next week.

Fire Country Season 4: Max Thieriot Worries Bode Will Be ‘Very Broken' If [Spoiler] Has in Fact Died — WATCH

Fire Country star and co-creator Max Thieriot is frankly worried 'how poorly' Bode will respond if his firefighter father, Vince, winds up dying in the blaze that closed out Season 3. When last we tuned into the Friday-night CBS drama, the scene at Walter's memory care center was mayhem. Racing to the facility after realizing it was in the path of the Zabel Ridge wildfire, Bode and Walter (Jeff Fahey) spent a lot of time hunting for Walter's pal Otto, eventually finding him sheltered in a closet. Vote! Casting News: Hamilton at the Tonys, She's All That Reunion and More But then Bode's trick knee gave out while lugging Walter through the halls. Vince and Sharon (Billy Burke and Diane Farr) arrived on the scene and, leaving Jake (Jordan Calloway) in charge, dashed inside to find Bode and Walter, though that took time. And then once they did, Walter went missing! Vince located Walter, but before they and Sharon could find their way to safety, the roof collapsed — as a horrified and helpless Bode watched from outside…. As if the cliffhanger wasn't harrowing enough, as soon as the finale ended on the East Coast, the news broke that Burke, who has played Vince since Day 1, was exiting the CBS drama after three seasons. (Stephanie Arcila is also done as a series regular, though producers hope her Gabriela might pop up now and again as a guest star.) Meaning, it sure seems like Season 4 will reveal that Vince in fact perished in the blaze. If true, Bode will certainly be left 'very broken,' Thieriot tells TVLine in the red carpet video above. 'Bode has obviously gone through a lot of hardship in his life,' his portrayer notes, 'and it seems like every time he feels like he's coming out the other side, something happens. So I worry what [Vince's death] would to do him, and how poorly he would respond. 'We know [Bode has] made leaps and bounds as far as the person he is after being incarcerated,' Thieriot continues, 'but has he come fare enough to deal with something like that or not…? It's heavy.' Love Island adds new hunky singleton to initial series 12 line-up

'Love Island' has added a rugby union player to its initial series 12 line-up. Athlete Conor Phillips, from Limerick, Ireland, will be hoping to strike up a romance with a "dominant" woman in the plush villa in Majorca. Asked what type of woman he would like to couple up with, the 25-year-old hunk said: "Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic. I like dark eyes and I don't mind a dominant woman." But the one thing that would turn the winger off from dating someone is if they are "needy" and not independent. Conor explained: "Being too needy or needing to do everything together. I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing." 'Love Island' is hosted by Maya Jama, and Conor thinks she would hire him based on his flirting skills alone. He said: "I ask girls if they want to go halves on a baby. It doesn't work, but it gets them laughing. It's an ice-breaker, not a serious question of course!" Series 12 of the hit show kicks off on Monday (09.06.25), and the Young Munster rugby team member has hinted he will be trying to serve up some drama for the viewers. Conor - who said he is the CEO of "mischief" - teased: "I'm the class clown type vibe. Being in big teams and groups all the time, I'm always mixing things up, stirring the pot." Meanwhile, another series 12 contestant has already left the villa due to "personal reasons" - just hours after ITV announced them in the line-up. The broadcaster confirmed Kyle Ashman, a 23-year-old water operative from Stafford, Staffordshire, will not be appearing on the show alongside 12 other singletons "as planned". A spokesman told The Sun newspaper: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the 'Love Island' villa as planned." Kyle hoped to couple up with someone who is "fun, confident and just themselves", although he did point out that his "communication skills" needed some work. He said: "I need to work on my communication skills. "In my previous 'situationships' my communication could have been better, put it that way." Kyle also told how he might struggle to sleep in the same room as someone who was being "too loud". He explained: "It's a hard question because if the right person does it, it's not an ick. "But maybe if someone is just too loud in general, like if it's time to go to sleep and they won't turn their volume down, that's an ick." 'Love Island' returns on Monday 9th June at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Play.
