New Weather Notice Alerts Moroccans to Continuous Heatwave
Rabat – The General Directorate of Meteorology announced today that the heatwave will continue today and tomorrow, hitting several provinces across Morocco.
Temperatures between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius are expected in Rabat, Nouaceur, Settat, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, Fez, and Meknes.
The same weather alert will cover the provinces like Chichaoua, Marrakech, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, El Faqih Ben Salah, Oued Ed-Dahab, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Taroudant, and El Kelaa Seraghna.
The new weather alert was issued after a notice from the general directorate, which forecasted that the heatwave would continue throughout the week.
The directorate also issued other weather notices, forecasting thunderstorms.
Several provinces witnessed heavy thunderstorms followed by dry weather on Wednesday night, including Rabat and Sale.
Several videos shared online showed floods as thunderstorms hit suburbs like Rommani, near Rabat.
