The exercise more effective than stretching for tight hips
Tight hips are a common complaint often addressed with stretching, but a movement mechanics expert suggests there are more effective methods.
Tightness can stem from the nervous system protecting the body, habitual postures like sitting, or instability in the hip joint.
Instead of stretching, focus on strengthening surrounding muscles like glutes and adductors to improve hip stability and range of motion, Training Stimulus founder Ash Grossmann says.
The "Stimulus Six Lunges" exercise, involving lunges in six directions, is recommended to work the hip through various planes of motion.
Performing this exercise daily can improve hip mobility, and it can be progressively overloaded for strength and performance gains.

Missing TikToker Hannah Moody, 31, posted tragic final video before she vanished as her body is found two weeks later
A TIKTOKER shared a tragic final video just weeks before her body was discovered near a hiking trail. Hannah Moody, 31, was a social media influencer with a combined total of 48,000 followers across her TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube channel. 4 She made lifestyle content centered around her faith and love of hiking. Her last TikTok was uploaded on April 14, where she spoke about her relationship with Christianity. "You were never meant to go through this life alone," Moody said in the nearly two-minute clip. "Knowing that I'm not alone, knowing that I don't have to carry this weight alone of trying to change and striving to be the certain way or striving to make my life a certain way. "The only way I was actually able to change my life, change my story, was with the help of Jesus." Moody captioned the video with: "He wants to walk with you every step of the way." She also posted a video on Instagram on May 18, just days before she was reported missing. The clip showed Moody walking along a trail as she spoke about her changes in her life, such as finding a new job and the stress that comes along with it. "There can always be something positive in every situation, if you just look for it," read the caption. However, the influencer was reported missing on May 21 after her loved ones said they hadn't heard from her or been able to reach her since she went off on her hike in Scottsdale, Arizona, that day. In a press release, the Scottsdale Police Department said authorities were at the trail where Moody was last seen, and her car was found in the parking lot. "Officers began search efforts on foot, with drones and assistance from a Phoenix Police Department helicopter," read the release. "Search efforts continued for Hannah for approximately four and a half hours until around 11:30 p.m., when the search was called off for the evening." A team of more than 20 officers on foot and bikes searched the trail with the help of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. The sheriff's air unit found Moody's body about 600 feet from the Gateway Trailhead of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale around noon. Before her death, Moody lived in California, according to the Los Angeles Times. "Scottsdale detectives and crime scene personnel will now conduct a thorough investigation to piece together what happened to Hannah and how she died," said the sheriff's department. "Our investigation will be in cooperation with the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, which will ultimately determine the cause of death." The temperature in the area where her body was found typically got as high as 100 degrees by noon, including on the day she was discovered. An investigation is underway, but authorities said that Moody's body didn't show any signs of trauma or foul play. 4

Jennie Garth celebrates major milestone with her and ex-husband Peter Facinelli's mini-me daughter Fiona
Jennie Garth enjoyed a special day recently with her youngest daughter Fiona Eve Facinelli to celebrate a milestone for the teen. Jennie was overjoyed to celebrate her mini-me daughter's graduation from Notre Dame High School in Los Angeles ' tony Sherman Oaks neighborhood. The proud mom — who tried to make amends with a fired costar recently — shared a group of photos of the sunny, beautiful day in the San Fernando Valley. Fiona is the youngest of the daughters she shares with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli. In addition to Fiona, she shares Luca, 28, and Lola, 22, with the Twilight series actor. 'She did it!! My baby girl graduated high school!,' the Beverly Hills 90210 star's caption began. 'I am so beyond proud of her!! My heart is filled with so much excitement to see her fly! I love you so much.' She then echoed one of her most famous lines from 90210, 'She chose herself!' Jennie shared photos from the graduation ceremony and the party at home afterwards. She also shared a shot of Fiona with a sign behind her that said: 'We are so proud of you.' Luca and Lola both attended New York University for undergrad, but there's no news yet as to where Fiona may be going to college. In January, Jennie and her girls had quite a scare when they had to evacuate their home. Her ex-husband Peter and his family took her in and luckily her home was spared in the fires. Jennie shared a tearful video afterwards in which she was thankful for her family, including her ex and his family. She expressed how grief stricken she was. 'I am deeply saddened for our city and just feel numb,' Jennie said. 'Our home was spared but so much to clean up and ready to get active to help our neighbors and friends and fellow Angelenos.' She then said her husband Dave Abrams had been 'amazing transporting all our bags and boxes, loading and unloading.' Jennie ended with: 'Just keep everyone here who is suffering in your heart and prayers. I am grateful we are all ok and have a home to return to. This will effect people differently, so reach out, and offer to help, it really does mean so much. 'Thank you for all the love that is being sent this way.' Facinelli and Jennie met on the set of their 1995 movie An Unfinished Affair and tied the knot in January 2001. Facinelli filed for divorce in March 2012, which was finalized in June 2013, after 11 years of marriage and three daughters. Garth shares three daughters Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 18 with Facinelli, 50. In October Jennie shared she suffered two miscarriages with her husband Dave Abrams shortly after they got married. She and the 43-year-old actor — who wed in 2015 — opened up about the difficult time they went through on an episode of her iHeartPodcast, I Choose Me with Jennie Garth. The star remembered feeling 'ashamed' after not being able to give Abrams 'a baby boy.' 'I think at that time, I was feeling really down on myself, really ashamed, feeling like I was disappointing you, like I wasn't able to carry a pregnancy with you, who I loved,' she remembered. 'And I had had these three beautiful daughters with Peter, and you had stepped in and become such a wonderful stepdad to them. And so I remember I so, so, so wanted to give you a baby boy,' she said. Jennie admitted that she doesn't remember a lot from that time, as she's blocked it out. 'What point in our relationship did we start talking about maybe wanting to have kids together?, Jennie asked her husband. 'Well, if you remember, we got married on July 11,' Abrams replied. 'And then we got pregnant that same month. 'We got back from Carmel. We went to a little mini honeymoon to Carmel up in Monterey. And like two weeks later, you were pregnant, and then that lasted almost four months. And then, you know, we found out,' Abrams said. 'What do you mean?' Garth asked her husband. 'We found out that there was no heartbeat,' he said. Garth asked, 'Did you feel upset with me?' 'No,' he replied. 'I wasn't upset, I was just down.'

MrBeast aims to raise millions for his charity by offering a weekend experience to six-figure donors
MrBeast plans to turn the success of his Amazon Prime Video reality competition series into millions of dollars for charity. YouTube's biggest creator is offering an exclusive weekend on the set of Beast Games Season 2 to the first 40 donors who make $100,000 gifts to his registered nonprofit. The earliest contributors and up to two guests each will spend June 27-29 touring MrBeast's North Carolina studio, hearing from the production team in a private Q&A and visiting Beast Philanthropy's food pantry. The invitation comes as Jimmy Donaldson's reported $5 billion media empire surpasses 400 million subscribers on YouTube, where he had already set the record for the biggest following. But the call raises a question: Who among his following of young people and their parents can make a six-figure donation? 'I have some big charity projects I want to fund so I think it's a win/win,' MrBeast said in a post on X. Rallying his fervent fan base to make their own contributions marks a new fundraising strategy for Donaldson. He has long stated that his YouTube pages' featured charitable work is funded with his Beast Philanthropy channel's revenue. The content has drawn a mix of praise from fans for working with local nonprofits to support previously unfunded projects and pushback from critics who accused Donaldson of exploiting vulnerable people for clickbait 'inspiration porn.' Campaigns have involved treating rheumatic heart disease in Nigeria and protecting endangered animals in Kenya. Other examples include building wells in countries across Africa and covering the cost of cataract surgery for 1,000 people. The call also signals Donaldson's continued philanthropic presence after comments suggesting he would get 'less hate' if he stepped away from philanthropy altogether. Responding to allegations that he uses philanthropy as a shield, Donaldson said he thinks 'it paints a negative spotlight on me.' 'People hate me more because I do good,' Donaldson said in a conversation uploaded last November on the YouTube channel oompaville. 'Maybe that's too crazy of a statement. I'm not trying to sound like a victim here or anything.' 'The truth is, I just find videos where I help people more fun than videos where I don't,' he added. Monday's announcement comes shortly after Amazon Prime Video renewed Beast Games for two more seasons. The reality competition series pitted 1,000 contestants against each other for a $5 million grand prize that doubled in the Feb. 13 finale. Forbes reported that the show broke the streaming service's record by totaling 50 million views in the 25 days after its premiere. MrBeast's latest fan event also follows reports that an April weekend experience billed as 'immersive' and 'unforgettable' had fallen short of attendees' expectations. ___ Associated Press coverage of philanthropy and nonprofits receives support through the AP's collaboration with The Conversation US, with funding from Lilly Endowment Inc.
