
Special anti-ganja drive conducted at Vizianagaram railway station
Teams of Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force jointly conducted special anti-ganja drive in Vizianagaram police station as part of their goal to make the railway station free from drug menace and anti-social elements.
The officials, including Sub-Inspector V. Balajee Rao of GRP and RPF Inspector R. Kumara Rao and Sub-Inspector B. Sridhar, led the programme and checked all the important places like platforms, waiting hall, canteen and others. They verified bags of suspicious persons and ticketless travellers. The three special teams conducted inspections in several trains, including Samatha Express. They asked the travellers to inform the GRP and RPF if they come across sale or consumption of ganja and other drugs in and around the railway station.

Four youths held for placing boulders on railway track in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Four youths were arrested on Saturday night for placing boulders on a railway track and damaging the signal box near the Coimbatore railway station. Govt railway police (GRP) identified the arrested youths as M Bhuvanesh Kumar, 20, R Vincent Raj, 24, P Sathish Kumar, 20, and VS Vijay Shankar, 22, all from Thoothukudi district. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now All four work at a garment company in Tirupur and had come to Coimbatore by train, to visit Sathish Kumar's younger brother who works in a textile mill at Thennampalayam in Coimbatore district. On reaching the city, they tried to reach Sathish Kumar's younger brother by phone, but he did not answer their call. The four who were under the influence of alcohol, were then roaming at the railway station. A while later they walked at least 30 metres away from the station to relieve themselves. They suddenly threw stones at the signal box and went on to place large boulders on the track. The incident came to light when railway authorities checked after they did not receive signal from the box, prompting them to stop the Cheran express train for a while on Saturday night. Officials promptly removed four large boulders from the track and rectified the signal box. The four accused were identified through CCTV camera footage and subsequently arrested from the station premises. They were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday.

One arrested for hoax call of planting bomb in trains
Varanasi: The Govt Railway Police on Sunday arrested Rajesh Shukla (48), for a hoax call about planting bombs in 15018 Kashi Express and 11071 Kamayani Express on June 2. CO GRP Kunwar Prabhat Singh stated that GRP Cantt in-charge Rajol Nagar and his team arrested Shukla, a native of Machhlishehar and now settled in Mumbai, at Varanasi Junction (Cantt railway station). The mobile phone and SIM card used to make the hoax calls were also recovered from his possession. Following the call, the GRP Cantt thoroughly checked both the trains on June 2, causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers, said the CO.

Four B'deshis detained at Agartala stn
Agartala: In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Intelligence Branch apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals, including two children at the Agartala Railway Station on Saturday. The accused were identified as Md Billal (47), Salma Begam (38), Md Naeem (8) and Md Ali (6). According to official sources, the detained individuals entered India illegally from Bangladesh and had reached the railway station with the intent of boarding a train to travel to other states of the country. The operation was conducted based on secret intelligence inputs received earlier in the day. During preliminary interrogation, the detainees revealed that they were planning to travel to Delhi. Authorities have stated that all four will be produced before the court on June 8. Security at key transit points like the Agartala Railway Station remains on high alert to prevent such illegal crossings and human trafficking attempts. ANI
