Justin Baldoni drops plans for amended claims against Blake Lively

He will not be proceeding with refiling claims in his countersuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds amid their It Ends with Us legal feud. Two weeks after Judge Lewis J Liman granted motions to dismiss the $400 million (£294 million) countersuit Baldoni originally filed against Lively and husband, the actor-director's lawyer Bryan Freedman announced they were not submitting any amendments. The judge had noted that Baldoni could still amend his claims for breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract.

Girls star shares unexpected sex scene detail about raunchy series

Allison Williams is getting candid on the behind-the-scenes of Girls. The hit HBO drama ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017, and while the actress, 37, 'loves' intimacy co-ordinators, there wasn't one involved in the series. 'We didn't have them yet on Girls,' Williams said while on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on Tuesday. Podcast host Amanda Hirsch asked, 'It wasn't the time for that?' to which Williams, who starred as Marnie, replied, 'It definitely was, but we didn't have them.' 'We had so many sex scenes to prep and work through,' she explained. 'It would have been so helpful to have someone who's department head of sex scenes.' The show was created by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, with Williams retelling a moment on set where the writers performed a scene she had to do with her on-screen love interest, Ebon Moss-Bachrach. 'I have this picture of Lena and Jenni acting out the moment where Desi was going down on me — eating my a**e — and I have a picture of them where I think it's Jenni is leaning over a windowsill and Lena is leaning behind her like smiling being like, 'This is what we picture,'' Williams recounted. 'And I was like, 'Great!' but they were busy. That should have been someone else's job.' Dunham, 39, who played Hannah on the series, previously expressed her feelings about not having an intimacy co-ordinator on set. She told Metro UK in 2022, 'I know as an actor sometimes you feel anxious going to the director with a concern, even if you really like them, you just don't want to be the party pooper – you just have your own self consciousness and to have a person there who is devoted to that dialogue and your comfort, I mean, I would have loved to have it on Girls.' 'When you're the director and the actor at the same time, and the writer, you're trying to hit all those marks, and also make sure everyone has what they need, it's just too much for one person,' she detailed. 'I'm just so happy that we're reaching a time where sets in general are a more carefully monitored thing.' Girls followed the complicated lives of friends and couples. It also starred Jemima Kirke (Jessa), Zosia Mamet (Shoshanna), Adam Driver (Adam) and Andrew Rannells (Elijah). Looking back at the series, which became a household name, Dunham shared, 'Something I'm really proud of, is I look at this show, and we all started when we were between 22 and 25. It would have been very easy for all of us to go, 'Yeah, we're just going to fashion shows and taking free trips to St. Barth's,' but these women have made a really strong commitment to use their platform for something powerful. No one has used this new attention just to acquire handbags.' These days, Dunham is back to creating, having just worked on the British Netflix rom-com series, Too Much, which debuts on the streaming platform on July 10. Williams, meanwhile, is starring in M3GAN 2.0, a horror/sci-fi movie about a lifelike artificial intelligence doll. The actress also serves as a producer on the film. The daughter of journalist Brian Williams and producer Jane Stoddard Williams recently got candid about working on Girls and the nepo baby movement while promoting the new project. 'Aside from all the many layers of privilege, high on the list is the fact that I could pursue a career in acting without being worried that I wasn't going to be able to feed myself,' Williams told the Guardian in an interview published on Monday. 'I had been surrounded by people who did what I wanted to do.' Her parents, however, insisted she finish her education before stepping into the industry. 'I'm grateful that my parents didn't cave,' Williams, who received a degree in English from Yale, added. 'And that I didn't make my way into this business any sooner than I did, because already, at 23, when Girls came out, that was a lot to process.' When asked about a possible Girls reunion, Williams said she would 'love it.' 'I know that Zosia has been pushing for a spin-off, which I would voraciously consume and try to elbow my way into,' she confessed. 'I kind of want us all back together. It was so fun and it was the beginning of my career, so I didn't have the perspective I have now on just how lucky we were, or to know how unusual a creative experience it was.'

YouTube star and animal activist Mikayla Raines dies aged 29

A popular YouTube star and passionate animal rights activist has died by suicide after being bullied online, her heartbroken husband has revealed. Mikayla Raines, a content creator and founder of a fox rescue centre in the US, was the victim of an 'online bullying campaign' from people she knew, her husband Ethan Frankamp said in a heartbreaking YouTube video. The 29-year-old, who began working in wildlife rehabilitation when she was 15, was also a mum to a baby daughter. Frankamp said his wife had complex mental health challenges and claimed the criticism she was receiving online caused her mental health to deteriorate. 'She felt as if the entire world had turned against her,' he shared. 'She has always battled with borderline personality disorder, causing emotional instability as well as impulsive behaviours, but this time it went too far.' Frankamp added that his wife also had autism and struggled with depression. Raines had a real passion for animals and established her non-profit centre Save A Fox, which rescues and rehabilitates foxes and other exotic animals, at 20. 'From a young age she dedicated every waking hour of her life to helping them [animals], whether it was helping a snapping turtle cross the road or saving 500 foxes from a terrible fur farm,' her husband said. 'She was never in it for fame, money or personal gain. 'She was truly one of the most selfless people I have ever known.' The Save A Fox YouTube channel boasts 2.45 million subscribers and Raines had 500,000 followers on Instagram. Frankamp ended the tearful video by telling critics spreading 'garbage' rumours to 'shut up' — and urged people feeling 'lost and hopeless' to reach out to a loved one or call a hotline for help. 'Despite this being the biggest loss of my life and feeling like I have a literal hole in my chest, I will not let Mikayla's light be extinguished and I won't let negativity win,' he added. Frankamp's announcement of the Minnesota mother's death came one day after he posted a sweet video of Raines smiling after she rescued a lemur. Frankamp said he 'will do whatever I can' to continue the work at Save A Fox.

Justin Baldoni majorly shifts legal strategy against Blake Lively after dismissal of $615m defamation suit

Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Justin Baldoni will not be moving forward with amending his A$615 million lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. After Judge Lewis J. Liman shockingly threw out Baldoni's countersuit earlier this month, the actor/director's lawyer Bryan Freedman told Page Six that they are now focusing on Baldoni's defence. 'The Court's decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defence against Ms. Lively's claims,' Freedman said in a statement on Tuesday. 'Discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations,' he added. Liman claimed in his ruling to dismiss the defamation suit that Baldoni and his legal team 'have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her [California Civil Rights Department] complaint, which are privileged.' Lively first filed a lawsuit late last year. Picture: Angela Weiss/AFP Baldoni's countersuit was thrown out. Picture:for Vital Voices Global Partnership As part of the judge's decision, Baldoni was given until June 23 to amend his claims for breach of implied covenant (suggesting that terms agreed upon in their legal agreement were violated) and tortious interference with contract (intentionally disrupting the relationship or contractual agreement between parties, potentially leading to significant financial damages and reputational harm). However, 'instead of revising the existing claims,' Freedman told us that they 'will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.' Meanwhile, a spokesman for Lively told Page Six in a statement: 'The Court dismissed the frivolous $400 million (A$615 million) Baldoni-Wayfarer lawsuit in its entirety. In the days that followed, Baldoni's lawyer said the judge's decision to dismiss their case was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. 'As per usual, that was not true. The Court's dismissal of Baldoni's sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.' The pair in a scene from It Ends With Us. Soon after she filed the complaint, Lively, 37, officially sued the actor and director for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages. Last week, Baldoni scored his own legal victory as Liman ruled that he could access to private text messages between Lively and Taylor Swift about the 2024 domestic violence film. 'The requests for messages with Swift regarding the film and this action are reasonably tailored to discover information that would prove or disprove Lively's harassment and retaliation claims,' the judge said in documents obtained by Page Six.
