Meet Kiwi and Gizmo, a pair of capybaras - which are the biggest rodents on Earth.They have just arrived at London Zoo for a holiday in the city!The adorable duo be staying at London Zoo temporarily whilst a new habitat is being prepared for them at Whipsnade Zoo, in Bedfordshire.So, visitors will have to be quick if they want to spot the pair in their new holiday pad.
Capybaras are found natively throughout northern and central South America. They are semi-aquatic mammals, meaning they are well adapted to spend lots of time in water - they have partially webbed feet and their eyes, noses and ears are located high on their heads so that they remain above water while swimming.Visitors can therefore expect to spot Gizmo and Kiwi having fun in the sun both on land and in the water.Zookeeper Jessica Lawrence said: "Gizmo and Kiwi are a really charismatic pair, and we're really enjoying getting to know them and their preferences and quirks."We can't wait to see the joy on people's faces when they meet Gizmo and Kiwi this May half term – we expect they'll spend a lot of time splashing around outside.'

Capybaras are the world's largest rodent.They are closely related to guinea pigs.Like other rodents, capybara's teeth grow continuously, and they have to wear them down by grazing on aquatic plants and grasses.Capybaras also have a less nice habit - they eat their own poop. The grasses in their natural diet can be hard to break down, so by eating their own poop, they have a second chance of digesting them.Whilst they don't mind being alone, capybaras also live in groups of up to 40.

The co-founders of a pet food brand bagged a life-changing deal on Dragons' Den and have revealed how the show has shaped their business since. Dr Guy Sandelowsky, 38, and Shiv Sivakumar, 33, developed their allergy-friendly pet food business, called Omni, together. The pair appeared on BBC 's long-standing entrepreneur show in February and managed to secure a £75,000 investment from Deborah Meaden, 66, and Steven Bartlett, 32, for a 2.5% share. They impressed the Dragons with their company, which uses novel proteins to create allergy-friendly food for dogs and offers a range of supplements. Now, three months since the episode aired, Guy and Shiv have opened up to MailOnline about their 'nerve wracking' business pitch which landed them a deal with two tycoons. The businessmen admitted 'it wasn't easy to get on' the show and they had applied two years in a row before. 'We were just determined that, you know, the world and the nation needed to hear about what Omni was doing,' Guy explained. The pair created Omni after Shiv, who has a dog prone to allergies and Guy, who has 10 years experience as a vet, came together with the aim to help prevent common problems in pets. Before entering the infamous den, the pair already had their sight set on two of the dragons and knew what they wanted to leave with. 'Shiv and I had watched Dragons' Den forever, since we can remember, and the likes of Deborah Meaden and even Steven Bartlett, even though he's a dragon that joined later on, we always admired them,' Guy revealed. He admitted: 'We always knew that, were we to be on the show, those are exactly the dragons we'd want, not least because they have pets, but also because they're just so aligned with what we're trying to do, creating a health sustainability brand.' The vet described the experience as 'really surreal, honestly and very overwhelming, but in a very positive way'. Despite carefully preparing an impressive business pitch, Shiv shared 'when it comes down to it, it was very sort of nerve wracking, because you realise you're going to go on TV'. He added: 'No matter how much you plan, you just don't know how things are going to play out.' During their business pitch, Shiv and Guy were quickly hit with questions from Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman about their valuations. Shiv admitted they were 'a little surprised' by how fast the conversation went in that direction and pointed out they have now gone above and beyond with their business since. However, the pair did manage to keep their cool during the grilling from the dragons. Shiv said: 'It's really interesting, because we're now, literally a couple of months since being on the den, and the business ... it's doubled in size, we're now tracking revenues for the year of nearly £10 million annualised, which is way more than the valuation we even went into the den asking for.' Eventually, Touker and Peter pulled out of making offers and Sara Davies declined on the basis the share was too low. Despite this, the two businessmen are thrilled about securing Deborah and Steven. Shiv explained how 'well aligned' the business partners are with the two dragons. He added: 'They authentically care about sort of what we're trying to achieve here. So they're both pet lovers. Steven actually has a dog that's prone to allergies as well. Really has an authentic connection to the environment and sustainability too. 'They both are very good ambassadors and advocates for our business, and that's what we hoped they would do, and they've continued to do that as well since the investment. 'So we couldn't have got a better result, because those are the investors that we wanted to achieve. And we did manage to get this. I think we were pretty elated.' Guy recalled how the knew the valuation they were asking for was 'reasonable' and even described it as 'quite generous'. He admitted: 'It just felt very validating when people like Deborah and Steven actually got behind us, and sort of actually on our behalf, were like arguing with Peter and Touker.' Since securing a joint deal with Deborah and Steven, the co-founders have been 'pleasantly surprised' by how involved the dragons have been with Omni since being on the show. Guy acknowledged that even though they are both 'celebrities' and 'very busy' with other projects, in reality 'it doesn't feel like that'. '... The line's always open. We can always speak to them,' he revealed. 'I would say that with Steven and his team, we've had particular guidance and support on some of the brand work that we're doing.' As for Deborah, who is known for her environmentally friendly business pursuits, the Omni co-founders feel particularly 'mission aligned' with her. 'You know, for us, health is number one, but also the fact that we don't use animal proteins in our products, it just makes our food more environmentally sustainable,' Guy explained. 'And I think because that's a mission that's so close to Deborah's heart, it was quite easy to build that connection.' He added: 'Whenever we do meet Deborah and we discuss our business plans, it's clear that she really cares, and she knows that when our business grows, yes, there's financial upside, but also the ethical side is really important to her, and she's helping to grow a business that is going to sort of contribute to practices that are better for the environment as well.'

EXCLUSIVE Lucy Spraggan says she became more 'palatable' as a lesbian on TV after weight loss and a boob job - as she details life after X Factor and close bond with Simon Cowell
Lucy Spraggan has called for more LGBTQ + representation on television, revealing she felt a shift in the public's attitude towards her when she changed her appearance. The singer, 33, found fame on The X Factor in 2012, and to date is the only open lesbian contestant. Honey G, who competed four years later, came out as gay after appearing on the show. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Lucy - who has just realised her new single The Lesson - opened up about being a lesbian in the public eye. She shared: 'I don't feel any pressure to be a representation of the LGBTQIA+ community because it's so vast. But as a lesbian, I do think there's not that much visibility in the UK. 'I feel like if there's a lesbian on TV, they have to be a certain "kind" of lesbian to be palatable.' Lucy explained: 'I noticed a big difference when I had my boobs and teeth done and dyed my hair blonde and I lost 20kg. 'I was much more palatable, I think. I don't know, we've got a way to go, but I think the UK is doing alright at the moment.' While she noticed a shift in attitude towards her after changing her look, she insisted that it had nothing to do with her public perception. Instead, it was Lucy's decision to go sober in 2020 that sparked her transformation. She explained: 'I lost the weight because I stopped drinking, which led to a load of lifestyle changes. 'I started running a lot because I was trying to get high elsewhere, because I didn't have drugs or alcohol anymore, so it kind of happened by accident. 'Then because I lost so much weight, my boobs [sagged]. I mean it was a necessary surgery,' she laughed. 'I don't feel pressured to look a certain way. I think it's cool to be versatile. It's important to just represent doing you doing your thing, which is what I want people to like take from me.' While the showbiz circuit is notoriously hedonistic, Lucy thinks that things have shifted in recent years. 'Maintaining sobriety is individual, it completely independent of everything else that's going on in life, stresses peak and then they go back down again,' she mused. 'But the music industry, I think people within it have become kinder, and I think there's a lot more focus on creativity at the moment and enjoyment and fulfillment and it's nice to be a part of that.' Currently, the music world has been left reeling the shock allegations made against rapper Diddy, who has been accused of drugging and raping women at his parties, known as 'Freak Offs'. Asked about the darker side of the music industry, she said: 'I've had my own sort of experience of that. 'You know in my book I spoke more about all of the things that have happened to me that have been very underground for years... 'But that being said, I've been sober for six years, so I don't really end up in many places I don't want to be in anymore.' In 2023, Lucy revealed that during her time on The X Factor, she was raped by a porter in the hotel room where she was staying after partying with Rylan Clark. At the time, when she quit the show, it was said to be down to illness. Revealing the assault for the first time in her autobiography, Process, she explained the illness was the strong side effects of PEP medication - a drug given to her by doctors which can prevent someone contracting HIV. On why she decided to reveal the truth 11 years on, Lucy confessed: 'It was scary for sure, it was terrifying, but I knew that if I put it out there - everything - there was absolutely nothing I have to hide from. 'People picked up on that and they said "thank you for talking about this thing, or that thing, because it made me feel really full of shame, and I haven't got any shame about anything". 'And I think that's a nice place to be.' While Simon was not a judge on The X Factor when Lucy competed, he later reached out and apologised for how she was treated on the ITV show, with Lucy then admitting: 'His apology healed a part of my being that I didn't know needed healing.' Asked how it felt receiving the apology, she mused: 'I think whether forgiveness is easy or not depends on the person. 'It's a lot easier to forgive somebody when they apologise, and that's something that's really big for me. I do a lot of work on forgiveness in general. 'They say like hating people is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. 'Truly in my life right now, there is nobody that I don't forgive and there's nobody that I don't wish, peace and health for in this world.' Indeed, her friendship with Simon is better than ever, and last year the music mogul walked her down the aisle during her star-studded wedding to girlfriend Emilia Smith. 'It was really strange,' Lucy laughed. 'It's a high stress environment and I looked to the side and saw him, like this is weird! 'But he was here and Lauren [Silverman] was there.' Married life has also inspired her music, with Lucy gearing up to release new album, Other Sides Of The Moon. The title she revealed is inspired by her love story. Discussing her relationship with her wife, she mused: 'We'd been friends for like 10 years. Then at the same time we looked at each other and thought "I'm in love with you." 'Then I wrote the song Other Sides Of The Moon and it's about looking at the same moon. 'We'd been looking at the same moon all the time, but we were just on other sides of it. Now we're on the same side.' Lucy's new single, The Lesson is inspired by losing loved ones. 'They teach you so much while they're alive and the only thing that they don't teach you is how to live without them,' Lucy mused. 'The album is a collection of songs from the past, songs that I wrote years ago, that I wanted to bring into now and make them sound new and more mature. 'I'm at a point now where I feel quite comfortable in myself and my voice has changed a lot and I'm a bit more adventurous. Lucy's single The Lesson, and tickets to her UK tour in November, are out now and her album, Other Sides Of The Moon, is out June 20.
