Meet The Kids Of 'The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives'

Yahoo3 days ago

Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debuted on May 15, and fans once again cannot get enough of the drama that seemingly follows the #MomTok friend group everywhere.
But aside from the scandals and gossip, the next most shocking thing about the cast might just be how many children they collectively have. Between Taylor Frankie Paul, Jessi Ngatikaura, Demi Engemann, Mayci Neely, Layla Taylor, Mikayla Matthews, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, and Miranda McWhorter, there are 22 kids in the Mormon Wives family tree, with an additional three babies on the way.
Here's what you need to know about each cast member's family while we wait for this highly-anticipated saga to continue!
Taylor, who's 31, and her ex-husband, Tate Paul, share two kids: Indy May and Ocean. Their daughter, Indy, was born in August 2017, and Ocean entered the world in June 2020.
Then, in March 2024, Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, had their first son together and named him Ever.
The Mormon Wives star has acknowledged that her baby names are more unconventional, saying on , "The names I love are not just for everyone. I feel like they're kinda unique." As for why she chose the name Ever for her latest, it reportedly means "always, eternity, and strong as a boar."
Jessi Ngatikaura and her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, tied the knot on October 8, 2020, and the couple shares two biological children.
First, their son Jagger Zayn was born in April 2020. Later, in January 2023, they added a new baby girl to their family, Jovi. Similar to Taylor, Jessi also detailed the thought process behind her children's unorthodox names.
"We chose Jovi because we have a son named Jagger, and I liked the theme of, like, old rock and roll–Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger. I just felt like they really went well together," she said on .
Jessi is also a stepmother to Peyton, Jordan's 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
Demi Engemann, 31, was previously married to Blake Corbin for five years, and together, they had a daughter named Maude. However, in 2020, the pair decided to divorce.
Since then, she's remarried Bret Engemann. They tied the knot in 2021, and the union expanded their family since Demi became the stepmother of Bret's sons, Cole and Rome Engemann.
Still, Demi apparently wants to have another baby and discussed her fertility struggles during the show's second season, calling it "so taxing and emotionally draining."
"It's more how bad Maude wants a sibling and how bad I want that with someone that I'm in love with," she shared.
Mayci's first child, Hudson, was born in September 2015, just under six months after Arick Mack, his father, sadly passed away in a car crash. The 30-year-old got married to Jacob Neeley years later, in 2018, and he legally adopted Hudson.
Now, the pair shares another daughter, Harlow, who was born in February 2021, and they are expecting a third. Mayci revealed the news of her pregnancy in February 2025, saying that her kids were "so excited" about the prospect of having another sibling. (via PEOPLE)
Mikayla Matthews was just 16 when she became pregnant with Beckham Jace, her first child, and later welcomed him into the world on July 3, 2017. She went on to have her first daughter, Haven Monroe, in August 2019 and another daughter, Tommie Grace, in November 2021.
However, Mikayla's family tree isn't finished. Back in February, she announced that she was pregnant again and expressed her desire to continue having more children.
"I'm surrounded by Mormon culture still, and my husband's siblings all have so many kids. They're like, 'Once you hit three kids, you can have 10 kids.' That's kind of the mindset I have," she told .
"When people ask me how many kids I want, I'm like, 'I've always wanted three or four, but I could see myself having six.'"
Whitney Leavitt, 32, and her husband, Connor Leavitt, tied the knot in Provo, Utah, in 2016. They've gone on to have three children, Sedona, Liam, and Billy Gene, who were born in 2019, 2021, and 2024, respectively.
Unlike Mikayla, though, it seems that Whitney and Connor are satisfied with their current child count. So, it remains unclear whether they'll be adding any more babies to the household.
"We are most excited about having our family complete. We've always wanted three kids, and we're so happy everyone's here now," Whitney told following Billy Gene's arrival.
Jen Affleck, who's 25, got married to her husband, Zac Affleck, in 2019. Now, they have two kids and are expecting their third.
Their daughter, Nora, was born in November 2021, and their son, Lucas, entered the world in July 2023. Jen is expected to deliver her newest addition later in the year and shared how excited her kids were, particularly Nora, to potentially have a baby sister.
Layla Taylor is 24 years old and a mother of two. She and her ex-husband, Clayton Wessel, have two sons, Oliver "Ollie" Clay and Maxwell Dean.
But in 2023, Layla filed for divorce after three years of marriage and became a single mom of two toddlers.
Finally, 27-year-old Miranda McWhorter and her ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, announced their divorce in 2024. But before their split, they had two children together: a son named Brooks and a daughter named Cohen.

Elon Musk Denies Report He Took So Much Ketamine He Doesn't Pee Right

If his posts on his social media site, X, are any indication, Elon Musk is letting a New York Times report that he's taken so much ketamine he can't pee right get to him. 'To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs!' Musk wrote on Saturday. 'The New York Times was lying their ass off. I tried *prescription* ketamine a few years ago and said so on X, so this not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven't taken it since then.' Musk was allegedly taking ketamine, Ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms during the 2024 campaign, The New York Times reported Friday. He apparently used ketamine so heavily that it's affected his bladder, a known issue caused by chronic ketamine use. Sources said that he was using ketamine almost daily, mixing it with other drugs. His usage reportedly troubled those around him. It is unclear whether his alleged drug habit continued when he became part of the Trump administration. Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic, has become increasingly popular, including among the teetotaling influencers on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Musk was an integral part of the 2024 election, spending about $290 million to support Donald Trump and Republicans. When Trump took office, Musk became the head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, an effort to slash the federal workforce and make the government more MAGA. On Wednesday, it was reported that Musk's time in the Trump administration was coming to an end. Musk posted multiple times about the allegations of drug use on Friday and Saturday. 'I'm in meetings with dozens to hundreds of people every day and am photographed constantly. If this bs from NYT were true, it would have been EXTREMELY obvious,' Musk posted. The Times points out that Musk's behavior has been 'erratic,' like his insulting Secretary of State Marco Rubio — and his posting incessantly on X, at all hours of the day and night. During an appearance with Trump in the Oval Office on Friday, Musk was sporting a black eye, which he blamed on his 5-year-old son, also nicknamed X. 'I was just horsing around with little X, and I said, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face.' And he did,' he said at a news conference at the White House. As the head of SpaceX, a massive government contractor, Musk said he's been subjected to random drug tests. 'The 3 years of random drug testing was just because of one semi-puff during a @JoeRogan podcast!' he wrote on X Saturday, referencing when he took a hit off a joint on Rogan's show in 2018. SpaceX gives out random drug tests, a requirement as a federal contractor. According to the Times, Musk has gotten advance warning of the tests. 'I'm not on ketamine ffs,' he wrote in another post. Trump said Friday that he did not know about Musk's reported regular drug usage. 'I'm not troubled by anything with Elon,' he said. 'I think he's fantastic.' Musk has spoken about his prescription ketamine use in the past. Last March, he told journalist Don Lemon that he uses a 'small amount' of ketamine about once every other week. The ketamine, he said, is prescribed by 'an actual, real doctor.' 'There are times when I have sort of a … negative chemical state in my brain, like depression I guess, or depression that's not linked to any negative news, and ketamine is helpful for getting one out of the negative frame of mind,' he said. 'If you use too much ketamine, you can't really get work done,' Musk added. 'I have a lot of work, I'm typically putting in 16-hour days … so I don't really have a situation where I can be not mentally acute for an extended period of time.' Scooter Braun Is ‘Happy' Taylor Swift Bought Back Her Masters

After a contentious feud, Scooter Braun says that he is "happy for" Taylor Swift, now that she has the rights to her entire music catalog. On May 30, the "Cruel Summer" singer revealed that Shamrock Capital had allowed her to buy back her music, music videos, concert films, photography, and more, with "no strings attached." In 2019, Swift announced to the world that she was going to re-record her entire music catalog after Scooter Braun acquired her music. At the time, she called it her 'worst case scenario' and described how she had pleaded with Big Machine's Scot Borchetta for years 'for a chance' to own her work. Instead, she revealed that she had only been given 'the opportunity to sign back up at Big Machine Records and 'earn' one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in.' 'I learned about Scooter Braun's purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I've received at his hands for years,' she wrote at the time. 'Scooter has stripped me of my life's work, that I wasn't given an opportunity to buy…' she continued. 'Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.' Braun, who has since stepped away from artist management, told The Hollywood Reporter in a brief statement on Friday that he is 'happy for her' and left it at that. Additionally, a source told PEOPLE magazine that reports claiming that Scooter encouraged Shamrock to make the deal were false, and that the entrepreneur was not involved in the deal in any way. 'Contrary to a previous false report, there was no outside party who 'encouraged' this sale. All rightful credit for this opportunity should go to the partners at Shamrock Capital and Taylor's Nashville-based management team only,' the source revealed. 'Taylor now owns all of her music, and this moment finally happened in spite of Scooter Braun, not because of him.' Since 2019, Swift has released 'Fearless (Taylor's Version),' 'Red (Taylor's Version),' "Speak Now (Taylor's Version),' and '1989 (Taylor's Version),' leaving many wondering what the fate would be for 'Reputation (Taylor's Version),' and the re-recording of her debut album. Although she told fans that she has re-recorded her debut album, she had less promising news about 'Reputation (Taylor's Version),' leaving some fans to suspect that the full album may not ever be released in its entirety. 'Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,' she told her followers in a lengthy letter published on May 30. 'All that defiance, that longing, to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.' 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it,' she revealed. 'Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to watch.' 'I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now,' she continued. 'Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about.' 'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have,' she added. 'It will just be a celebration now.' In her letter, Swift admitted that she never thought that she would be able to acquire her full music catalog again. 'I almost stopped thinking it would ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,' she wrote. 'But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words.' Further down in her letter, she thanked Shamrock Capital for giving her the chance to buy her music back with 'no strings attached' to their offer. 'All I've ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy,' she continued. 'I will be forever grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this to me.' 'The way they've handled every interaction we've had has been honest, fair, and respectful,' she added. 'This was a business deal to them, but I really felt like they saw it for what it was to me: my memory and my sweat and my handwriting and my decades of dreams. I am endlessly thankful. My first tattoo might just be a huge shamrock in the middle of my forehead.'

Selena Gomez Cheers On Taylor Swift As She Reclaims Her Music Catalog

After years of waiting, Taylor Swift finally has the rights to her music catalog again. On Friday, May 30, the "Mirrorball" singer revealed that Shamrock Capital had agreed to sell back the rights to her music with "no strings attached." A few hours after the "Anti-Hero" singer revealed that she was once again owned the rights to her old songs, music videos, and photography, her close friend Selena Gomez stepped up to show her support. "YES YOU DID THAT TAY!!!" she wrote on her Instagram Stories, adding, "SO proud!" The close friends have often shared their support with one another on social media, with Swift recently cheering on Gomez's latest album with her fiancé, . Earlier, in a post announcing their engagement, Swift commented, "yes I will be the flower girl," which sent fans into a frenzy. The news proved to be so popular that Swift's Instagram post received over five million likes within only three hours of publication. "taylor" started trending in the top spot on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, along with the title of one of her songs, "Better Than Revenge." Although comments on her Instagram post were disabled, her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, dropped a subtle sign of support by "liking" her post, since he was unable to leave a comment. The post received many celebrities likes from her famous friends, many of whom have supported her throughout her journey to reclaim her music. The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer announced the good news in a long letter that she published on her website on the morning of Friday, May 30. In the letter, she thanked her fans for supporting her music and her wildly successful Eras Tour, which helped make the purchase possible. 'To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,' she told her followers. 'To my fans, you know how important this has been to me – so much so that I meticulously re-recorded and released 4 of my albums, calling them Taylor's Version.' Since Scooter Braun's acquisition in 2019, Swift has released 'Fearless (Taylor's Version),' 'Red (Taylor's Version),' "Speak Now (Taylor's Version),' and '1989 (Taylor's Version).' 'The passionate support you showed those albums and the success story you turned The Eras Tour into is why I was able to buy back my music,' she continued. 'I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to but have never owned until now.' Now that she has the rights to her music back, many fans are wondering what will happen to the last two albums that she has yet to re-record: "Reputation" and her debut album. In her letter, she revealed that while she has completed re-recording her debut album, she has been struggling with "Reputation" and the memories that she associates with that era of her life. 'Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,' she explained. 'All that defiance, that longing, to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.' 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it,' she continued. 'Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to watch.' However, there is good news for fans hoping for a full re-release of her debut album. 'I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now,' she wrote. 'Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about.' 'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have,' she added. 'It will just be a celebration now.'
