Widnes' Gregson given eight-game ban over posts
Widnes Vikings forward Nick Gregson has been given an eight-game suspension having been found guilty of historical social media posts using unacceptable language.The second-rower accepted the disciplinary charge at a hearing over the posts which dated back to 2012.Five of the eight games have been suspended for two years, meaning he will serve a three-match suspension which will begin immediately.He will now miss the Vikings' Championship fixtures against Doncaster and Barrow Raiders as well as their 1895 Cup tie against York Knights.

Jail for doncaster tool thief who struck twice in three days
A "brazen" thief who stole power tools worth thousands of pounds in full view of CCTV has been Stewart, 28, took tools worth around £2,700 from a business in High Street on 20 May last year then, three days later, stole tools worth £1,000 from a van in Flint was arrested three months later after police trawled through camera footage and identified of Armthorpe Road, Doncaster, was jailed for three years and 10 months having been found guilty of burglary and robbery after trial at Sheffield Crown Court. He was also banned from driving for two years and 11 months. Det Con Josh Heath said: "Stewart was brazen in his offences, committing these thefts in full view of CCTV."He targeted both a private business and a member of the public, stealing high value items with no regard for the consequences of his victims."I am glad that he will spend time behind bars for his selfish actions, and hope that his sentence is a lesson to other would-be burglars that crime does not pay." After going missing on Wednesday, 28 May, the Scot's body was found in a ravine after a week of extensive searching in the Algarve region. Greg worked as a mechanic for Doncaster-based Cementation Skanska. He travelled to Portugal with friends for a five-day stag do in Albufeira, a coastal city in the Algarve, the southernmost point of the country. Greg and his friends were staying at the Novochoro Apartments complex, an hour's walk away from the clubs and bars of Cerro de Aguia. 2 Police confirmed that they saw the Scot on CCTV the night he went missing What do we know about Greg Monks' disappearance? Greg told his friends that he was heading back to their accommodation after a night of drinking. Greg was last seen in the early hours of Wednesday, May 28, near the Cerro de Aguia area of the town. An initial report was made to police at 8pm on May 28 by another man accompanying him. Police confirmed that they had spotted Greg on CCTV, but were initially unable to find him. His parents and girlfriend flew out to assist in the search. After an agonising wait, his body was found a week later. Greg's body was discovered in a remote area an hour away from the popular Albufeira strip, which is known for its rocky terrain, cliffs and ravines. What have the police said about the incident? Portuguese police have released an official statement: 'PJ police (Policia Judiciaria), through the Southern Directorate and with the collaboration of the Albufeira GNR police force, today located the body of a man who had been missing since May 28 in the Cerro de Aguia area of Albufeira. 'The disappearance of the 38-year-old UK citizen was reported to the Albufeira GNR at 8pm on the 28th by another man who was accompanying him on holiday in the area. 'After carrying out various enquiries and establishing the presumed route taken in the early hours of that day since the last sighting, the body was located on steep wasteland.' No cause of death has been provided. The body has been recovered and will be taken for an autopsy before being released, Policia Judiciaria confirmed.
