NYT ‘Strands' Hints For Sunday, June 15: Spangram And Answers For Today's Game
Today's NYT Strands hints and answers.
Looking for Saturday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:
Hey, folks! Today's NYT Strands hints, spangram and answers for Saturday, June 14 are coming right up.
The New York Times' Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It's available on the NYT website and in the NYT Games app alongside the likes of Wordle and Connections (which we also cover in daily guides at Forbes Gaming).
There's a new game of Strands to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you'll get a clue as to what that theme is. When you find a theme word, it will remain highlighted in blue.
You'll also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram links at least two sides of the board, but it may not start or end there. While the theme words will not be a proper name, the spangram can be a proper name. When you find the spangram, it will remain highlighted in yellow.

Every letter is used once in one of the theme words and spangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally and diagonally, and it's possible to switch directions in the middle of a word. If you're playing on a touchscreen, double tap the last letter to submit your guess.
If you find three valid words of at least four letters that are not part of the theme, you'll unlock the Hint button. Clicking this will highlight the letters that make up one of the theme words.
Be warned: You'll need to be on your toes. Sometimes you'll need to fill the missing word(s) in a phrase. On other days, the game may revolve around synonyms or homophones. The difficulty will vary from day to day, and the puzzle creators will try to surprise you sometimes.
Scroll slowly! Just after the hint for today's Strands puzzle, I'll reveal what the answer words are.

Here's what the completed grid looks like...
Completed NYT Strands grid for June 15, including the words CRAWDAD, PAPARAZZI, CHALUPA, FATHER'S ... More DAY, POPSICLE and POPCORN.
The double "z" caught my eye right away, but I didn't see what would work there. But I remembered today's occasion and found the spangram. A hint gave me CRAWDAD and I figured out what was going on -- all the theme words include a word meaning "father." In this case, it was "dad."
PAPARAZZI (papa) and CHALUPA (pa) were the other words in the top half of the grid. POPSICLE and POPCORN (both "pop") in the bottom half wrapped things up.
I used one hint and the spangram was the first theme word I found.
See you tomorrow for more Strands fun!

Apple Releases a "Haptic" Feel Trailer For Brad Pitt's F1 Racing Movie — GeekTyrant
Apple has released a fun new trailer for director Joseph Kosinski's F1 movie that you can only watch on your phone. This trailer features "haptic" vibration feedback when you watch it. This looks like a great movie and I'm excited about watching it, especially with Kosinski directing as he is such a talented technical director who knows how to take audeinces on a wild thrill ride! In the film, 'Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula One driver who raced in the 1990s, has a horrible crash, forcing him to retire from Formula One and start racing in other disciplines. A Formula One team owner and friend contacts Hayes and asks him to come out of retirement to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) on the Apex Grand Prix team.' The movie also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and lots of F1 drivers and team members as themselves. This special "haptic" trailer can only be watched on Apple phones using the Apple TV app. When you play it, the rumble of the Formula One cars can be felt in your hands. It's a fun promo gimmick. Click here to check it out! F1 hits theaters starting June 27th, 2025.

Dakota Johnson Recently Worked With Her First Intimacy Coordinator: 'It's Not Sexy'
Despite her decade-long tenure as a leading lady, Dakota Johnson has had to do a lot of the heavy onscreen lifting without any help. The Materialists star joked she's 'always psyched up' for sex scenes as she recently opened up about working with an intimacy coordinator the first time in her career on a movie she recently filmed. More from Deadline Dakota Johnson Delivers Damning Diagnosis On Hollywood's Risk-Aversion: 'It's All A Bit Of A Mess' 'Materialists' Review: Dakota Johnson Measures Value Of Love Between Chris Evans And Pedro Pascal in Celine Song's Sublime Romcomdram 'Rivals' Author Jilly Cooper Gives View On Intimacy Coordinators Ahead Of Disney+ Comedy-Drama's Second Season 'And she was really great,' raved Johnson on the Good Hang podcast. 'It was so cool because I'm so used to—you know, it's a sex scene. It's not sexy. It doesn't feel good. In addition to some of the more absurd aspects of filming a sex scene, like 'slamming myself into a headboard,' Johnson detailed for host Amy Poehler what goes into preparing to film an intimate sequence. 'First, I think it depends on, who is the character, and who is the character supposed to be to the audience,' she explained. 'Is she a super idolized hot girl? Is she a housewife? Is she lonely? Is she scared? Is she conservative?' Johnson continued, 'So, that's obviously character work, but then certain prep would go into it. I want to feel good in my body if I'm showing my body. My mom raised me to be really, really proud of my body and love my body. So, I've always felt so grateful for that, especially in my work because I can use it and it feels real.' Since her breakout role in 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation, Johnson has come to appreciate the importance of a good sex scene as the romantic lead of films like How to Be Single (2016), Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022), Am I OK? (2022), Persuasion (2022) and Splitsville, which debuted last month at Cannes. 'So, I guess in my work, it's something that I feel brave with and that I feel, when it's used the right way in a story, it's important,' said Johnson, whose latest film Materialists is now in theaters.
