NSW Police searching for gunman after shots fired at man in Sydney's north before car set on fire
A man has survived an incident in Sydney's north overnight after bullets were shot at him, while a car was found on fire shortly after.
Emergency services were called to Wilga Place, Marsfield about 1am on Saturday after reports of shots being fired.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were told a 28-year-old man was allegedly shot at after he parked and got out of his vehicle, a NSW Police statement said.
The man was reported to have been walking up his driveway when shots were fired, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Some of the bullets struck a house behind the man, police found.
A different man was seen getting into a black car and fleeing the scene after the shooting.
Officers were called a short time later to a house on Ruse Street, North Ryde, where a bullet was reportedly discovered on the floor inside a house after it broke a window.
Police believe both houses were hit in the one shooting, and it does not appear the buildings were targeted intentionally.
No injuries have been reported following the incidents.
Police also found a black BMW X4 sedan engulfed in flames after being called to Mardi Street, Girraween about 1.25am on Saturday.
Fire NSW attended and extinguished the blaze, and no injuries have been reported due to the fire.
Multiple crime scenes have been established as police continue to investigate the incidents and potential links between the incidents.
Police are urging anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The incident in Marsfield follows a targeted drive-by shooting at a Western Sydney home in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police said a house on Frank St in Mount Druitt was sprayed with up to 30 shots about 1.20am after a black car pulled up.
No one was injured in the incident, but six children are believed to have been among 11 people sleeping inside the house at the time.

Alleged Alameddine gangster Ali Elmoubayed targeted in Merrylands shooting
Fresh chaos has hit Sydney's criminal underworld, with three men now in custody for the apparent targeted shooting of a home linked to the alleged boss of the brutal Alameddine crime network in Australia. The shooting happened about 9.20am, with police officers called to the Earl St home in Merrylands in the city's west. Bullets were fired at the house, but nobody was inside at the time. Both the ABC and The Sydney Morning Herald report Ali Elmoubayed, the alleged head of the Alameddine enterprise, is linked to the address but dodged the shooting after reportedly leaving beforehand for the Parramatta Magistrates Court to request a change of bail address. A short time later, a burning Porsche was located in Beverley Crescent in Chester Hill, NSW Police have confirmed. 'The group left Chester Hill in a Hyundai before being arrested on McMahon Rd in Yagoona trying to flee from police on foot,' police said in a statement. 'They remain in police custody. 'Crime scenes were established at both locations, which will be forensically examined by specialist police.' The shooting has been referred to Taskforce Falcon. Detective Superintendent Jason Box, the commander of Taskforce Falcon, is expected to update media on the shooting at 2pm AEST.

Three arrested after bullets fired into Merrylands home, Porsche found ablaze
Three people have been arrested after bullets were fired into a house in Sydney's west on Thursday. NSW Police said no-one was in the Merrylands home at the time shortly after 9am and no-one was injured. A short time later, a Porsche was found ablaze in the neighbouring suburb of Chester Hill. Police said the three people left in a Hyundai before being arrested in Yagoona while trying to flee officers. Sources have told the ABC the house is linked to Alameddine crime network figure Ali Elmoubayed. Mr Elmoubayed appeared in Parramatta Local Court a short time after the attack. Taskforce Falcon, which was formulated last month to investigate and suppress violent crime in the Sydney metropolitan area, is investigating the shooting. The taskforce was formed in the wake of Sydney underworld figure Dawood Zakaria being fatally shot while his car was stopped at traffic lights on a busy Granville street. Taskforce Falcon will consist of more than 150 officers and draw help from the New South Wales Crime Commission in a bid to put pressure on feuding organised crime networks. It will absorb investigations currently underway as part of 13 different underworld based strike forces and will be led by Criminal Groups Squad Commander Jason Box.

Boy, 12, assisting police following fatal stabbing of man in Broken Hill
Police say a 12-year-old boy is assisting them with their investigations following the stabbing death of a 36-year-old man in Broken Hill last week. Just before midnight on Thursday, June 5, emergency services were called to a home in the city's south for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers found a man with stab wounds to his neck. Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man could not be revived. Police said there was no ongoing threat to the community. Strike Force Cardup, run by officers from the Barrier Police District with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, has been established to investigate the death. A 12-year-old boy is assisting with inquiries into the circumstances leading up to the death of the man, whose identify has not been released. "Police intend to seek legal advice in relation to the matter, and a report will be prepared for the coroner," NSW Police said in a statement. No charges have been laid.
