Celtic suspend fan from all matches after mocking of Ibrox disaster
Shocking video footage of Darren Malloch mocking the disaster went viral on social media.
A man has been indefinitely suspended from attending all Celtic matches after he was captured on camera appearing to mock the Ibrox disaster during the Old Firm derby last week.
It comes after shocking video footage of the man, who has since been identified as Darren Malloch, mocking the disaster went viral on social media. In the clip Malloch can be seen taunting the tragedy by displaying the numbers 66 on his phone screen. He then goes on to show the numbers with his fingers after putting his mobile phone away.
The number is in reference to the 66 Rangers fans who lost their lives in the Ibrox disaster 54 years ago in a crush after an Old Firm game on January 2, 1971. As reported by STV, Celtic have now confirmed he has been suspended from attending matches.
A Celtic spokesperson said: 'We have investigated the matter. Clearly we condemn such conduct and the club has taken the appropriate action with regards to this individual.'
It follows news that Malloch - who was a project manager with Advance Construction Scotland - was sacked from his job following the incident.
A spokesperson for Advance Construction told the Record: "We can confirm that an individual has been dismissed from our employment, following an incident involving completely unacceptable behaviour at the recent Rangers v Celtic football match.
"As a company, we hold all employees to the highest standards of conduct, both inside and outside the workplace.

"In line with our disciplinary procedures, we will not tolerate or condone this behaviour. We believe that Police Scotland is also investigating this incident, and therefore, we are unable to make any further comment on the matter."
Rangers Football Club also slammed the "abhorrent" mocking of the disaster, adding that the tragedy remains the darkest day in the club's history.
Police earlier confirmed they were also investigating the clip.
A spokesperson for Rangers said: 'The Ibrox disaster remains the darkest day in our club's history and continues to affect a number of families to this day. The mocking and celebration of any tragedy is abhorrent, and has no place in any football stadium or society as a whole.'
Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'We are aware of the incident and enquiries are ongoing.'

Cash paid to ride Dumfries and Galloway Council buses wasn't banked for 10 months
An audit has revealed that when money was paid in, it went into the wrong bank account. Cash paid to use Dumfries and Galloway's buses wasn't banked for 10 months, and when money was paid in, it went into the wrong bank account. The concerns were raised following an internal audit of how cash is handled on Dumfries and Galloway Council buses. The local authority runs 18 bus routes across the region – six out of Castle Douglas, 11 out of Dumfries and one out of Stranraer. The audit was carried out in December and investigators found no money had been banked for bus fares for the Dumfries or Castle Douglas services since February. The Stranraer money had been banked three times – twice in July and once in December. However, no income was found for one route as 'the driver did not have a licence' to charge fares. The report for Thursday's meeting of the audit, risk and scrutiny committee, adds: 'The legality of operating the service was clarified with legal services.' The report calls for cash to be paid in to the bank 'at least every week', which is now being carried out. The report warns: 'If income is not being submitted this would not be identified. Funds could be stolen.' Auditors also found that while money from Stranraer was going to the correct bank account, the Dumfries and Castle Douglas money was going into a catering account. And the inspectors wanted to see one person made responsible for all cash and bus income given to the transport officer to avoid the risk of 'cash not being handed in in full'.

Therapy dog missing in Highlands for two weeks as owners continue 'relentless search'
Golden Retriever Louie is trained to alert the family when teen Ellie Lynn is about to have an epileptic seizure. The family of a support dog missing for two weeks has opened up on the 'relentless search' they've carried out for their beloved pet. Louie the two-year-old Golden Retriever is trained to let the family of teenager Elie Lynn know when she is about to have an epileptic seizure. Desperate, the family have left dirty clothing and food around the area to try to lure their pup to safety. The pooch is now much more than a help for the 17-year-old, becoming "a huge part" of the youngster's family, leaving them heartbroken at his absence. He has been missing since Monday, May 26, when he slipped free from his choker while walking up Glen Nevis, in Fort William. The family say they are absolutely desperate to bring him home. Despite regularly searching for him in the 16 days since he vanished, Louie is still missing. The family were given hope after hearing barking up the Glen on Sunday, June 8. Owner Louise Manson told the Record today: "It's been an absolute struggle. My 12-year-old daughter, Lara, has been out searching relentlessly with me. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! " Ellie has found the two weeks so hard, it would give her security and her companion back. Home isn't home without him, it would mean the absolute world for him to come home for all of us." A Facebook group, called Official search page for finding Louie, was set up to try and help track him down, with members of the public helping in the searches. Louise wrote on Monday: "Update, more barking has been heard yesterday, but it could be coming from anywhere. Which is a positive. We have been given other positive information which indicates he's 100% alive yesterday. "We were out again last night at steall falls until late. Clothes out, food has been left and a wildlife camera. In the hope we can narrow down his location and get him home. "We think with the falls being so busy, he's scared and in hiding during the day. We have been told, shouting his name may make him want to hide further away. So its a case of just seeing where he is and trying to tempt him. "We are confident we will get him home…it's just taking longer than hoped. Again thank you for help, messaging, searching and all your kind words. Its all helping so much at this time." Posting on the group previously, she wrote: "Just putting it out there. On Monday the 26th of May, if anyone was up Glen Nevis and steall falls. "Has anyone has taken Louie, out of good will thinking he was abandoned, a stray or injured or he followed you on a walk and has become your companion. Please return him. We will travel to collect. This has broken our hearts. "Our home isn't home without him. If you pm us no one will need to know. We just need him home. He was originally my daughters therapy dog for her epilepsy but has become a huge part of our wee family."
