Northwoods Habitat for Humanity to hold Hammer and Eggs Breakfast

Yahoo12-03-2025

Mar. 11—BEMIDJI — Northwoods Habitat for Humanity has announced two new activities to promote its mission of building affordable housing in the Bemidji area.
A Hammer and Eggs Breakfast will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Bemidji Eagles Club. The event will feature a buffet-style breakfast and a presentation from Habitat Minnesota President and CEO Cristen Incitti.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet partner families who are working on building and purchasing homes this year, a release. While the breakfast is free, those who will attend should RSVP at
(218) 751-4649
or email
info@northwoodshabitat.org
by April 30.
In conjunction with the breakfast, Habitat is holding a raffle with the top prize of a She-Shed valued at $8,000. A total of 1,000 tickets will be sold for $20 each. Tickets are available now at the ReStore and from Habitat volunteers.
The She-Shed, which is being built by Habitat volunteers, will be on display at the ReStore and occasionally at local businesses such as Buena Vista Ski Area, Ace Hardware, Lueken's Village Foods, the Cenex Station on Anne Street and Splash Xpress Car Wash.
The drawing will be held on May 8 at the conclusion of the breakfast. Those who have purchased tickets don't need to be present to win.
The breakfast and raffle have the dual purpose of raising awareness and funds for building new homes, the release said. Plans for the construction of one home have begun, with the potential for two more to be built in the community this year.
Funds from these events will go directly toward construction costs, the release said. Volunteers are also needed for these builds. On-site training is provided for individuals or groups.
"We are really excited to host a breakfast this year," Executive Director Geri Hickerson said in the release. "It is a great opportunity to connect with our supporters and also introduce Habitat to those who are interested in our mission of building simple, decent, affordable homes."

Here is Why PG&E (PCG) Crashed This Week

The share price of PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG) fell by 10.58% between June 3 and June 10, 2025, putting it among the Energy Stocks that Lost the Most This Week. Let's shed some light on the development. Brightly-lit nighttime view of an electricity power grid with distribution lines and transmission substations. PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG) provides natural gas and electric service to approximately 16 million people throughout a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California. PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG) is currently trading at a 2-year low as the company continues to navigate through regulatory pressures and the aftermath of its role in past wildfire incidents. PCG suffered a setback recently after analysts at Wolfe Research reduced their price target for the stock from $22 to $19, while maintaining an Outperform rating. It is worth mentioning that PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG) fell below its Q1 earnings estimates, as it was hurt by higher operating and interest expenses. However, the company remains confident in meeting its FY 2025 targets, reaffirming its 2025 non-GAAP core earnings guidance at $1.48 to $1.52 per share. While we acknowledge the potential of PCG as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Asian markets trade mixed as global cues weigh; Japan, Hong Kong slip while China, South Korea gain

By News Desk Published on June 12, 2025, 08:40 IST Asian equity markets opened on a mixed note on June 12, with regional benchmarks reacting cautiously to global trade concerns, geopolitical tensions, and U.S. policy signals. While China and South Korea managed modest gains, Japan and Hong Kong indices declined amid profit booking and risk aversion. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.71% to 38,149.44, leading regional losses as investors trimmed positions in heavyweight and tech stocks. The broader TOPIX Index also shed 0.40%, while the TOPIX 100 Index declined 0.48%, reflecting widespread weakness across sectors. Sentiment was further dampened ahead of upcoming guidance from the Bank of Japan. Hong Kong markets also opened in the red. The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.36% to 24,279.24, while the Hang Seng TECH Index dropped 0.92%, hit by a sell-off in growth stocks. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index and Hang Seng China 50 Index were down 0.33% and 0.32%, respectively, as investors exercised caution amid global volatility. On the other hand, Mainland China indices saw marginal gains. The SSE Composite Index rose 0.04% to 3,403.69, while the CSI 1000 Index advanced 0.22%, outperforming broader benchmarks. The Shenzhen Component Index and SZSE Composite Index also registered slight upticks, indicating selective buying in small-cap and tech counters. South Korea's KOSPI Composite Index led regional gainers, rising 0.54% to 2,922.84. The KOSPI 200 and KOSPI LargeCap Index were up 0.36% and 0.50%, respectively, supported by foreign inflows and optimism in select blue-chip names. Overall, Asian markets reflected a cautious risk tone, with investors monitoring U.S. tariff rhetoric, Middle East developments, and regional policy cues to navigate short-term volatility.
