Jersey Bulls into top two after Guildford City win
Jersey Bulls moved into the top two of Combined Counties Premier South after a 2-0 win at Guildford City.
Jersey-bred former professional Kurtis Guthrie needed just three minutes of his debut to help put the islanders ahead - his ball into the box was flicked on by Fraser Barlow and scrambled into his own net by a Guildford player.
Toby Ritzema and Jonny Le Quesne had chances before Guildford goalkeeper Monty Conway made an excellent save from a Luke Campbell header 10 minutes from half time.
The hosts went close soon after the restart while Barlow forced a second excellent save from Conway soon after.
A minute later Guthrie narrowly missed after a saved Campbell header fell into his path.
Bulls' veteran midfielder Luke Watson missed a 64th-minute penalty after Barlow had been fouled in the box, but the islanders recovered from the miss almost straight away.
Two minutes later Guildford had Emmanuel Acheampong sent off for a dangerous tackle on Campbell and two minutes after that Campbell was on hand to double the lead as he tapped in Joe Kilshaw's cross.

Tennessee football's ties to Boston's Big Three in MLB
Tennessee football's ties to Boston's Big Three in MLB Boston's prospects, right fielder Roman Anthony, second baseman Kristian Campbell and third baseman Marcelo Mayer, are now all playing for the Red Sox in Major League Baseball. The trio is known as Boston's Big Three and their combined age is 65 (Anthony 21, Campbell 22, Mayer 22). The Red Sox selected Mayer in the first round (No. 4 overall) of the 2021 MLB draft from East Lake High School in Chula Vista, California. Anthony was selected by Boston in the 2022 MLB draft second round (No. 79 overall) from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Campbell was drafted by the Red Sox during the fourth round (No. 132 overall) in 2023 from Georgia Tech. The trio of prospects all made their MLB debuts in 2025 for Boston: Campbell on March 27, Mayer on May 24 and Anthony on Monday. More: Former Vol Garrett Crochet strikes out Aaron Judge three times for Red Sox PHOTOS: Tennessee defeats Georgia Tech in 2022 Knoxville Regional final Campbell was born June 28, 2002 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He played college baseball at Georgia Tech from 2022-23. Tennessee hosted the Yellow Jackets during the 2022 NCAA Tournament Knoxville Regional final. The Vols defeated Georgia Tech, 9-6, on June 5, 2022. Campbell did not play against Tennessee during his redshirt season as a freshman. The 6-foot-3, 191-pound infielder is the son of former Tennessee running back Kenneth Campbell. Kenneth Campbell played for the Vols from 1989-92. In 22 games at Tennessee, he totaled 141 rushing yards and scored one touchdown on 41 attempts, while recording three receptions for 13 yards. The Vols won the 1990 SEC championship and defeated Virginia, 23-22, in the 1991 Sugar Bowl under head coach Johnny Majors. Tennessee also won the 1989 SEC championship. Red Sox Projected to Trade $38.5 Million All-Star Pitcher After Kristian Campbell News
Red Sox Projected to Trade $38.5 Million All-Star Pitcher After Kristian Campbell News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Any games featuring Boston Red Sox teammates Kristian Campbell and Lucas Giolito, at least in the short term, will feature Campbell at second base and Giolito on the mound. Advertisement Whether or not that partnership will continue past the trade deadline, though, remains to be seen. Although Campbell's future in Boston is safe given his top prospect status, Giolito is a pending free agent on a team potentially destined for a fourth losing season in six years. Could, and would, the 29-33 Red Sox wave the white flag and fully pivot to a Campbell-led future? If so, Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer won't be surprised to see Boston trade Giolito ahead of the July 31 deadline. Giolito, who turns 31 next month, owns a 4.78 ERA and 26-10 K-BB ratio over 32 innings. He's a long way removed from the young pitcher who earned All-Star honors with the Chicago White Sox in 2019, and it's been four years since his last above-average season. Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Lucas GiolitoDale Zanine-Imagn Images "He's at least an innings-eater," Rymer argued, "and it probably wouldn't be hard to get Boston to eat some of his $19 million salary." Advertisement Indeed, Giolito is in the final year of a two-year, $38.5 million contract. The Red Sox (or whoever holds his rights come the offseason) also have a $14 million club option if he throws fewer than 140 innings. However, that becomes a $19 million mutual option if he hits that innings mark. Giolito signed that contract before missing all of last year with right elbow surgery. The inconsistent Red Sox are already making significant moves, announcing Monday that Campbell won't receive reps at first base after all. Instead, manager Alex Cora made it clear they're keeping Campbell at second. Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow notably backed Cora over the weekend amid repeated calls for a managerial change. Advertisement Time is running out for Campbell, Giolito, and the Red Sox to right the ship. Boston enters Tuesday trailing by nine games in the AL East, and the Red Sox are 4.5 games out of the AL's third and final Wild Card spot. Florida football gets commitment from coveted OT Chancellor Campbell in 2026 cycle
Florida football gets commitment from coveted OT Chancellor Campbell in 2026 cycle Florida football added coveted in-state offensive tackle Chancellor Campbell to its 2026 recruiting class in the first of two signings on Sunday. The towering 6-foot-8-inch, 295-pound trench warrior out of St. Petersburg (Florida) Lakewood chose the Gators out of 18 total offers, including the Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Colorado Buffaloes and Duke Blue Devils. Despite the other suitors, the Orange and Blue have been on top of Campbell's recruitment since the get-go. "Florida, they've always been talking to me, been on track, always messaging," he told Swamp247. "I call them, FaceTime them pretty much almost every day, they've always talked." Offensive line coaches Rob Sale and John Decoster also played a significant role in his decision to commit to Florida, as they spearheaded the efforts to get the massive lineman into the fold. "They really talked to me from the start, and I got to grow a good relationship with the coaches that lasted me this long to be able to commit," Campbell said. The program also got an assist from a recent commit — offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr out of nearby IMG Academy, who gave his word to Florida on June 1 and encouraged Campbell to join him in Gainesville. "He called me on Thursday, he was like, 'What do we have to do to get you to become a Gator?'" he said. Of course, everything in the program ultimately comes down to the head coach, which is why one particular experience following a staff dinner inside the O'Connell Center stood out. Billy Napier took it upon himself to drive the young prospect back to his hotel afterward in a gesture that really caught his attention. "If the head coach is driving you everywhere and talking to you, that must mean they want you bad," Campbell noted. "I wanted to come here from the start, but I just had to get some confirmation." And the rest, as they say, is history. At least, until it comes time to sign on the dotted line. Recruiting Summary Campbell is ranked No. 594 overall and No. 50 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 435 and 33, respectively.
