Be a Lifesaver: FOX 44 and Carter BloodCare Hosting Blood Drive

WACO (FOX 44) — Your chance to save lives and help the community moves ever so closer, with the FOX 44/Carter BloodCare Blood Drive to be held this Friday, June 13! This will be an all-day event from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the FOX 44 parking lot, located at 8803 Woodway Drive in Waco. Carter BloodCare says taking time to donate blood helps locally and across many parts of the state. 'We run about 25 to 30 blood drives a day. We come out to businesses and schools, churches – any organization. If you say you have people who are willing to donate, we'll bring a bus or come set up site or inside your facility, and the way it helps the community is that every donation helps save three lives,' said Clinton McCoy, Carter BloodCare's Director of Mobile Donor Recruitment and Regional Operations. 'By coming out and donating blood and providing us donors, we're able to meet the transfusion-dependent needs at our hospitals.' McCoy stressed the blood donated goes directly to a hospital for a patient receiving it. For as long as supplies last, each donor will receive a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream – 'A Pint for a Pint'. While no appointment is necessary, you can schedule an appointment online here. You can also scan the QR code below to sign up. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Simple exercises for stronger glutes anywhere The Expo featured competitions in boxing, martial arts, and arm wrestling. 'Mostly everybody should stretch because that's one of the ways you can prevent all types of diseases going on in the long run, like arthritis and locked joints and all that. It's also what you take. 'We will travel, and it gives them a way to work on their confidence, getting out on the stage in front of everyone, competing. The routines they make themselves. We will add input to it, but they will come up with their own themes, their own music, their own skills, and we just help polish it to get them where they want to be,' said Sabrina Ackerson, a coach with Aerial Expression Shreveport. Lower back pain relief: Chair exercises and stretching tips from Robert 'Supermann' Blount Athletes at the Expo say fitness is good for the mind and soul as well as mental and emotional health.
