
1,144 appear for NEET in Nandyal district
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) was conducted peacefully in Nandyal, Kurnool and Anantapur districts on Sunday.
In Nandyal district, the examination was held at four centres. Of the 1,176 candidates who applied, 1,144 appeared for the exam. At the Government Degree College, 351 of the 360 candidates appeared, while 211 of the 216 candidates appeared at the Government Girls High School examination centre. Similarly, 351 of the 360 applicants appeared for the exam at the Tekme Government Junior College, while 231 out of 240 appeared at the Government Polytechnic College. The overall percentage of students who appeared for the examination in the district is 97.27 per cent.
In Anantapur district, the percentage of students who attended the examination stood at 96.97, with 2,534 appearing out of the 2,613 who applied. The examination was conducted at six centres in Anantapur and Gooty. Meanwhile, of the 4,466 aspirants supposed to take the test at 16 examination centres in Kurnool, 4,381 appeared with a percentage of 98.10.

Karthik Ram Kireeti is Andhra Pradesh State topper in NEET-2025
Darbha Karthik Ram Kireeti, who secured 19th rank (General category) at the All-India level, was the topper of Andhra Pradesh in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), UG, 2025, the results of which were announced on Saturday by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Besides Mr. Karthik Ram, five other students from Andhra Pradesh secured all-India level ranks below 100. They were Kodavati Mohith Sri Ram, who secured 56th rank (General category), Desina Surya Charan, who secured 59th rank (General category), Podilapu Avinash, who secured 64th rank (OBC-NCL (Central List), Yerra Sameer Kumar, who secured 70th rank (OBC-NCL (Central List), and Tummuri Siva Manideep, who secured 92nd rank (OBC-NCL (Central List). The name of Karumanchi Vikrant from Andhra Pradesh, who secured all-India 262nd rank, figured in the list of top 10 rankers in the SC category. Among the national toppers were Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan, who bagged the first rank, Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh, who secured second position, and Krishang Joshi from Maharashtra, Mrinal Kishore Jha and Avika Aggarwal, both from Delhi, who secured the third, fourth and fifth ranks respectively in the General category. More than 22 lakh candidates wrote the entrance test on May 4, 2025 in 5,468 centres located in 552 cities across the country and 14 cities outside India. In Andhra Pradesh, out of the total 59,219 candidates who registered for the test, 57,934 appeared and 36,776 qualified. There was a decline in the number of students who appeared for NEET this year compared to the previous year (2024), when, out of the total 66,522 candidates who registered, 64,929 wrote the test, and 43,788 qualified.

73,328 qualify NEET UG in Kerala
As many as 73,328 candidates in the State have qualified the NEET UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test UG) 2025 for admission to undergraduate (UG) medical institutions. The National Testing Agency announced the results on Tuesday. As many as 1,21,516 students had appeared for the examination this year. Last year, 86,713 of the 1,36,974 students who sat for the exam qualified. There were no students from the State in the top 100 this year. Deepniya D.B. who scored 99.9949306 percentile to secure NEET UG rank 109 is the State topper. Shehin K.K. with 98.5352034 percentile and NEET rank 31,622 was ranked third among the top five Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. As many as 481 students appeared for the examination in Malayalam this year, down from 958 last year. As many as 22.09 lakh students had appeared for the NEET UG across the country. Mahesh Kumar of Rajasthan with a score of 99.9999547 secured the first rank. Avika Aggarwal of Delhi who secured the fourth rank was the female topper with a score of 99.9996832 percentile.

Kerala witnesses dip in number of candidates clearing NEET-UG
Kochi: There has been a decline in the number of students from Kerala clearing the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) this year compared to last year. After results were declared on Saturday, 73,328 candidates from the state successfully cleared the NEET-UG. This is a dip of over 13,000 candidates from last year's figures – 86,713. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the exam on May 4 which saw over 22 lakh candidates appear across 5,468 centres in 566 cities globally. Out of 1,27,442 candidates who registered from Kerala in 2025, 1,21,516 appeared for the exam. The test was conducted in 13 languages including Malayalam. However, the number of candidates opting to write in Malayalam declined significantly to just 481 this year compared to 958 students in the previous year. Despite the overall drop, Kerala still produced some standout performances. Deepniya DB, an OBC (NCL) candidate from the state, secured an all-India rank of 109 with a percentile of 99.9949.
