Luke Humphries thanks Phil Taylor for ‘extra boost' after winning Premier League
The world number one completed darts' 'triple crown' as he beat rival Luke Littler in the final at the O2 Arena in London, adding to his World Championship and World Matchplay wins.
He joined an esteemed list as only Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson had previously won all three prestigious tournaments.

And the 30-year-old revealed chatting to Taylor – a six-time Premier League champion – helped him get over the line.
'To Phil Taylor, thank you so much. He has given me so much support,' he said. 'He has given me a lot of advice and an extra boost tonight. I'm really happy with that win.
'I'll keep it private between me and Phil. He just gave me confidence and was supportive of me. I think when you've got the greatest dart player in the world, showing a bit of support and belief in you, it makes you feel good.
'It's always nice when someone believes in you, but when the best in the world, or was the best in the world, believes in you it feels good.'

Humphries looked a good bet to dominate the sport until Littler came along 18 months, with the teenager's to the World Championship final kickstarting an enduring rivalry.
They are streets ahead of the rest of the field and this was their 24th meeting in 18 months, with nine of them coming in this season's Premier League alone.
Humphries revealed that Taylor's advice was centred on him rather than how to beat Littler.
'It wasn't anything to do with Luke. It was all about me,' he said. 'He's never going to give me advice on how to beat people. He's just going to give me advice about me.
'It's all about me. He was telling me stuff about myself, about my just believing in me, to be honest.
'I would never, ever say anything that he's told me specifically, because that's our business.
'But he's just really supportive and gave me that bit of advice.'

It was a difficult season Arsenal as they finished second without any silverware and ended up 10 points behind Premier League champions Liverpool. As for PSG, they completed a historic treble - as Enrique pulled off the feat with a second club after Barcelona. The Spaniard admitted he was left "emotional" after the win over Inter after the club's fans paid tribute to his late daughter Xana with a huge tifo of her after her death from cancer in 2019 aged nine. He said: "I'm very happy. It was very emotional at the end with the banner from the fans for my family. But I always think about my daughter. It means a lot. It's so nice but I don't need to win the Champions league to remember my daughter. "My daughter is always with us, especially when we lost. With my family, enjoying everything and trying to get the positives, even in the bad moments."

Matheus Cunha to Man Utd transfer confirmed with £62.5m release clause triggered
Manchester United have completed the signing of Matheus Cunha. United will pay Wolves £62.5million for the Brazilian after triggering the release clause in his contract. Cunha becomes the Red Devils' first signing of a crucial summer transfer window, subject to his visa and registration. The Brazil star is now to head on international duty but was pictured in Manchester on Sunday morning. Upon announcing the deal, United said: "Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford." Cunha's former club meanwhile expressed their gratitude for the forward's time at the club. "Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Matheus for his contributions in old gold and wish he and his family the best of luck for the future," a statement read. Boss Ruben Amorim is desperate to improve his squad after seeing his side finish a dire 15th in the Premier League table. United missed out on qualification for European football having also failed to win a single trophy under the 40-year-old's management. Amorim has prioritised boosting his attacking options this summer, following a dreadful campaign in front of goal. The Red Devils ended up as the fifth-lowest scorers in the top-flight, with Amorim struggling to unlock his side's attack. Cunha will come in as one of the two No.10s in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. The 26-year-old starred in Wolves' successful battle to beat relegation to the Championship. He scored 17 goals and add six assists to earn Wolves' Players' Player of the Season award. Cunha himself has already made his happiness at his move north clear. The attacker has hailed his new manager Amorim and backed him to succeed at United despite his difficult start. "Talking about him is easy, I think he's a great coach and I wish him nothing but the best," Cunha told CNN Brasil via Daily Mail. "I hope he conquers the world as he did Portugal." Asked if they could do that together, he added: "Well, God willing, we'll always do our best to help." According to The Athletic, United first offered to pay Cunha's release clause in five instalments. This suggestion was flatly rejected by Wolves, with the Red Devils now agreeing to meet the full terms of the Midlands club's demands. Cunha joined Wolves from RB Leipzig on loan in January 2023 before completing a permanent move for £43m that summer. He previously played for Atletico Madrid, Hertha Berlin and FC Sion, and has been capped 13 times by Brazil. The attacker will be with his new club for the start of pre-season training in July. The move for Cunha has already been backed by legendary United skipper Gary Neville. "Man United are desperate in that position," he told Sky Sports. "You think of what Manchester United are playing now, they've let Jadon Sancho go, they've let (Marcus) Rashford go, they've let Antony go, so three players who are natural players who travel with the ball. "They need someone who can beat players, they need someone who's equally as good running through the middle with the ball and travelling with the ball, and go out wide and support the wing-back. "So he's [Cunha] a type of player that you could see Manchester United being interested in, that would suit this system that Ruben Amorim wants to play."

Manchester United confirm deal agreed to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves
Manchester United have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Matheus Cunha. In a low-key announcement, the Red Devils posted on social media: 'Our first signing of the summer has been agreed.' A statement on the club's website noted that the signing is 'subject to visa and registration' but added: 'Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.' The announcement is no surprise as it has already been reported that Cunha has agreed a five-year deal to swap Molineux for Old Trafford.
